xxl 2xl: are size xxl and size 2xl the same thing?

I am looking at clothes on-line, and some are XXL and some are 2XL and it seems like these should be the same thing, right? But if they are the same thing, then why do they call them two different things? Clothing sizes are confusing enough without making up different names for the same things! Are they different?

Motivation and Work Ethic

When I was little, I never had to work hard in school. I've always been smart, and so I could easily do better than the other kids without trying. Once I started middle school, things started getting a little harder, and I generally made do, but once I got into high school, I started falling behind. Now I'm in college, with about a 2.9 and falling, and still no work ethic. I'm not waking up in time for classes, I'm not turning in assignments, and I've developed some serious school-related anxiety (which is contributing to the above). I don't want to have to continue to watch myself slide down this slippery slope, but I don't know how to fix this and make changes that will help me succeed in the long run. What sorts of things can I do to get my life in order?

Birthcontrols: Yaz birth control side effects and switching to something else

I'm 20 years old, I will be 21 in three months.
I'm currently on Yaz birth control, I've been on yaz for a little over a year now. I think that it's caused weight gain (only about 5-6lbs, but it's been hard to even try to get off, I've been changing my diet, exercising. I eat little in the first place and very healthy)
I've looked into Yaz more about side effects and I saw a lot of women under 30 (around my age actually) who have developed embolisms in their lungs and it makes really worried. I know my doctor told me with all birth controls that blood clots and weight gain are all possible side effects, but after reading everything about Yaz I really want to get off it.

Hi. I am about to go crazy because my mom just won't listen to me. She thinks that my hair is too ugly and she wants me to wear clip in extensions. My boyfriend has told me not to. He likes to run his fingers through my hair. He hates them. My mom won't let me leave the house without them and she says too bad for him. Obviously, I'm angry. Before putting them on, she teases my hair so I can't take them off because after she teases it, it WILL look bad! Yet, it's embarrassing when I'm getting it on and he's like "what is this?" and one day he's gonna stay with a strand in his hand. Help! Btw, I'm 21

Mood swings/depression

For the last two months I've been going through some depression, though it's not always a constant thing. That is, I guess it's always there, but I can only feel it for a few days at a time before it fades. I go about 3 days where I feel fine, but then I drift into 3 days where I feel horrible. I know the roots of it are in self-loathing brought on by relationship problems, drug abuse/dependence, etc.
I can feel it coming and I can feel it leaving. I just started therapy, so I don't necessarily need advice on what to do -- I'm just interested in knowing if anyone else has gone through the same thing, and whether medication was necessary.

Losing weight for engagement photos & for myself!

Recently got engaged. I'm the biggest I've ever been, and now I've came to conclusion that I want to lose weight. I have the motivation and deterimation to do it! I'm 19 years old,
and my doctor has me on a weight loss pill called Phenotomine; it curves appetite.
I have a membership to the YMCA; and I was wondering,
would doing Zumba Tuesdays&Thursdays && water aerobics Monday's & Fridays--with relaxtion with swimming, hot tub, and a sona- on Wednesday be a good plan to go with to lose weight? I don't want to do hardcore work outs because my fat will turn into muscle and I won't see any results except toner.
I'm not going to eat past 7, and as my body gets use to it...

Adult party at a hotel???

I am thinking of having my birthday party at a hotel. I know it happens a lot but I dont understand how thats possible. There will be alcohol... obviously so everyone will be drinking and it just seems like a hotel room would be too small and sense we will probably be pretty noisy it seems like we would get complaints and be kicked out or have to pay extra or something. Plus there will be a few underage girls there so I wouldn't want the cops called on us... can that happen in a hotel or would they only tell you to keep it down?. I dont understand how its possible to have a party at a hotel. Advice, Tips? PLEASE!!! (and also if you know some of the best hotels to have it in that would be cool too. I live in Utah by the way)

shes constaniy bullied on the bus she super nice and smart people make fun of her cause shes slightly overwieght super smart and non athletic ! its horrible knowing how she was feeling cause ive been bullied to for having a big nose being cuban and just i quess diffrent ... so anyway i almost clocked this chick in the face cause im tired of this i feel so bad for my friend ill do anything i just dont want to get in trouble...help? all help is greatly appreciated :)

How do I get back into talking and friends?
I used to be very social, talking nonstop, many friends, many parties. Then I got post traumatic stress disorder and completely withdrawled. I kept my boyfriend and hes basically the only one i can talk to even though we dont get into deep conversation like we used to. But my disorder is gone and its been a few months after too..But how do i get back into talking? I dont know how to just have even a small conversation with people or interact in a group i just go silent. I dont talk in school even though i used to be one of the very social party type of people. Its not like I am scared to talk, i really just cant, even though it kills me and i want to, i just have nothing to say..my question...

My boyfriend and I broke up and he returned my things...He was using the strategy to try and talk to me but i was working so he did not catch me home.....i am usually at school on mondays but i had to be at work because my boss forgot and put me on schedule to work....he thought i would be home but i was working....we ended up talking on the phone and he thought that i hd been hanging out with another guy...he didnt trust me....i didnt trust him either....the conversation ended in him breaking up with me. A part of me is relieved and another in denial......I still have some of his tees and hats and stuff like that....I want to return it but in a very classy way. Would going to his work and giving them back while he is on break be a good ide...

So last Spring Break this guy that I couldn't stop thinkiong about asked me out and of course I said yes. I liked him so much that whenever I thought of him (while we were going out) I would lose my appitie. So for the next week I barely ate anything because of the horrible butterflies I got from him.... A couple of months later things weren't going too well and he broke up with me. He said I wasn't good enough for him, which are words from his friends. My friends told him opposite though. Anyway, I know he was a jerk and I shouldn't be worried about this but one of my friends said something that worries me today...
I have a friend that is kind of plugged into ALLL of the school drama and such, he said that my ex still realllly likes...

I'm a bit confused on something
If you have a ceremony but aren't legally married would you be able to take the last name of your spouse or would it need to be a legal marriage?
What exactly makes a marriage legal?.....What is the difference between a ceremony and a legal marriage?
Also, If you had a ceremony would you still refer to others as husband and wife?
