Hi, I'm a freshman in highschool now (15/f). I'm in honors classes and do a sport each season. But I want to become more involved in the school the community. Any ideas on what I can do or where I should go to start?

How to respond to compliments/positive comments

Hi, I'm 15/f and this is a really random question, but I was just wondering how do you respond to compliments without being cockey & stuck up, but at the same time without making things akward? Also, how do you respond to positive comments someone makes about you without seeming like you care or it really matters to you even if it makes you really happy (so you're not being stuck up)? example: if your friend tells you that all the boys think you're really pretty (in front of other people)

Family History,

Recently, I've been curious about my family history.
I'd like to know if my family dates back to the 1700s or something, and if I had anyone famous-ish that I'm related to.
Hopefully you understand what I mean.
So my question is, how do I find out all this info?
My parents know basically nothing about our family, just fyi.

I'm 15 and I really want a job!

I'm 15/f and I really want to get a job somewhere in my town. Any ideas of who to go to that would know of stores or busienesses that are looking for hire? Also, I have one babysitting customer that doesn't use me often, so any ideas on how to get babysitting jobs rather than flyers? because I tried that, it didn't work.

Communicating with the guy I like

So, I'm 15/f and I've been talking to this boy that I like recently. We've hungout a few times and everyone says he likes me and I like him too but the only problem is, is that he isn't a big communicating person. Like he doesn't text that much, exspecially doesn't talk on the phone, and I don't see him long enough to talk to him in school since we aren't in any of the same classes. Any advice on how to approach him and tell him that we need to text or talk more if we want to have a relationship? because I went through this last year with my ex boyfriend who (texted me more then this current guy does) but in person and when we hungout it was sometimes akward and quiet, which is the opposite for my current guy. Hi, I'm 15/f and these past couple years I've gotten really close to two of my friends. This summer my two bestfriends (who weren't at close to eachother as they were to me) and I kind of formed a group of five with two other girls that I wasn't as close with but still was pretty good friends with. We were always doing stuff together, hanging out whenever possible, going to events together, ect. Up until mid October this year, all of a sudden my two original bestfriends started getting REALLY close. depression/arm hurts/athletics

Basically Volleyball is my life, I have been playing it for only 3 years (all year) and I absolutely love it. I plan to play in college, and I have always been naturally good at it. Well anyway I hurt my arm, my shoulder to be exact, (the back part of it) near my rotator cuff. I dont know if I injured my rotator cuff or not, but my shoulder hurts really bad, I litterally cant hit the ball. Ive been so depressed lately, Im actually crying about it. Tryouts for club volleyball are wednesday the 18th of november, and Im scared my arm wont be healed. I have put ice and heat on it, but I keep getting so upset and frusterated. It has hurt for about 3 weeks, and hasnt stopped. I dont know what to do, I cant be happy and Im alwa...

During the summer, I met this guy. And for months we have been hanging out, and our relationship is growing very strong. The problem is, I'm 14, and he's 17.. And he's leaving for university next year, so we've decided that we're not going to become boyfriend and girlfriend, just be a couple.. Well, the thing is, he wants to go all the way with me.. And I don't know if i'm ready! I'm still a virgin and I don't know how I can be sure that I trust him enough, to know he's not just using me for a piece of "skin" please help!!

Hi! I was hoping that maybe someone can answer this for me. I am 18 years old. I got my period when I was 9. I'm 4"11. I'm a very short girl. I don't mind being short. I mean, everyone has I always thought I was adorable and I look good short. But, I've been dealing with problems with my weight since I was 9 years old.I was always very thin as a child. Okay, I've been hanging out with one of my new friends Corey, and I like him ALOT. & He knows too. But I'm not sure if he likes me back. He dated one of my best friends, ( and she's okay that I like him ) and she chills with us all the time. Wanting to kiss my friend?

Ok, so for a while I have thought that I was bi-sexual (I am 15/female) I am attracted to boys, but i offten feel for girls too.
So, I have known this girl for a while and we have only been friend for about 6 months, but recently we have been getting along better, and spending more time together.
She has started to joke around with me more and touch me and poke me and stuff, and it isn't helping because I have these strange feelings about her that I am trying to make go away!
I am pretty sure that she is heterosexual. So I am kinda dissappointed because I really want to do something with her like... sexually. and I sometimes fantasize about her and stuff like that. I have felt for girls before but nothing like this....

Bumps and Aches?

I've been getting a lot of little red bumps scattered around my stomach and my back and they've recently been spreading on my upper arm and on my neck. And this morning when i woke up my back was aching and feeling sore when i had done nothing for it to feel that way. So i took some moltrin pills and that took away the sore feeling. But the bumps keep breaking out. What could it be? I'm starting to get worried since its spreading =/

To sum it up my whole high school career I experienced love. My first love and then the one who stole it.I was with both guys for roughly a year and a half each. The 2nd guy and I ended a little over a year ago and that was still the last time I had real feelings for someone. I've never experienced such a harsh and hurtful breakup as I did with him, not even when I had to break the heart of my very first love. I've been asked out quite a few times which is, to be honest, a weird thing to experience considering I’ve spent the past nine years in a school being referred to as "the tranz" or "the ugly fuck". I am doing a really complex study for a class I am taking. I chose happiness as my topic it is something I've always wanted to study, and I would like to hear some opinions here. Taking private lessons? (For violin)

My orchestra teacher has recommended that I take private lessons.... Money is not a concern for me, but I'm not sure what I want to do. I'm currently a freshman, and I play the violin. In middle school, I was a pretty decent/good violinist, seeing as how I was first chair (not to brag or anything)... The thing is, I'm just so confused with everything I've learned. No offense to my teacher, but in middle school, my teacher honestly didn't teach us that well, or that much at all. Now I'm in high school; it's almost like I don't know anything, but I try to 'go with the flow'. It's only some things that I'm confused or lost on. I'm not a horrible player. hanging out with an ex

Tonight I called my ex, (i broke up with him in early october). We haven't spoken on the phone since the break up, just occasional texting. Well tonight I told him I still and always loved him and he said that he always knew i loved him. He wants to hang out when i come home for thanksgiving. I don't know what to do. It's sort of like we're starting from scratch? But we went out for 8 months.
Well we need something to do that won't involve sitting in his bedroom because we know where that leads, and we just need to be able to reconnect and talk. I'm basically asking for date ideas?
