How to respond to compliments/positive comments

Question Posted Thursday November 12 2009, 3:38 pm

Hi, I'm 15/f and this is a really random question, but I was just wondering how do you respond to compliments without being cockey & stuck up, but at the same time without making things akward? Also, how do you respond to positive comments someone makes about you without seeming like you care or it really matters to you even if it makes you really happy (so you're not being stuck up)? example: if your friend tells you that all the boys think you're really pretty (in front of other people)

Just say "Thanks!" & throw them a smile. Maybe even compliment them back. :)

well of course, start basic. Smile and say thank you, but kind of laugh when you do so. This lets the person know you appreciate the compliment. Also, you can say "really?" and then smile and kind of giggle. Act kind of shy, this lets people know you like the compliment. :] hope i helped!

Sometimes, just don't say anything; Just giggle and maybe cover your face a little bit! Hope I helped!

A) dont act too shocked. even though thats trying to not act cocky, it still is very cocky.
B) give a really sincere smile and say "thanks!"
C) dont play dumb and say "wow, really?"
D) sometimes adding a tiny chuckle is nice. it means that this caught you by surprise, and you're pleased.
