stomach

Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 10:52 pm

15/f. i know that in order to lose stomach fat you need to eat healthy and do cardio. so i already eat healthy, and my stomach is almost flat, but not quite there yet. so what is some cardio exercises that i can do in my house?

I already do about 150 crunches and 100 bicycles everyday, but now i'm reading that this wont get me a flatter stomach, it will just build muscle. so what can i do differently? and i would like it to be something that i don't need to buy and can do indoors. thanks :]

Running!

Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 9:08 pm

I have a training schedule that I have to follow this summer in order to be prepared and able to run about 5 miles a day for a sport when school starts in September. For my training, everyday I have to run 1-3 miles depending on the amount of time i have been on the schedule. I haven't started yet, but if i do this all through July and August is there a chance I will be able to slim down my thighs, or will it bulk them up? Thanks!

crunches

Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 9:01 pm

Some people say you can't only lose fat in one spot so crunches won't make your stomach flatter. Others say that they know people that lost 20 pounds from doing a lot of crunches. I don't get it. Do crunches make your stomach flatter or not?

STARVATION MODE?

Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 7:13 pm

This is my third day of having 1200 calories or less. My basal metabolic rate (according to an online calculator) says that I need around 1475 calories for my body to perform normal functions.

How can I tell if i'm in starvation mode right now?

And if I'm not already now, how long will it take before I do go into it?

never skinny thighs!?!?

Posted Wednesday June 27 2007, 3:41 pm

i was reading an answer from a columnist and in there answer there like "Hey, thats exactly me, haha. Theres nothing that you can do to make your thighs smaller in a healthy way. Working out will just gain you muscle and make them even bigger. Just embrace them & love them because its what youve got and what God wanted to you have."
is that true??
- FYI: i didnt ask the question she answered though.

Fasting for 3 months...

Posted Tuesday June 26 2007, 8:24 am

Ok i weigh like 180-190 pounds and really dont have much of gut but anyways can it be possible to lose a lot of weight if you eat nothing but water and excercise by doing sit ups, crunches, and push ups every day? plus im gonna teach myself to skateboard so thats included. if so, how much weight would i lose? i'm planning on doing this for my whole summer vacation and yes i know it's kinda hard going with nothing but water but i've done this before and i only lasted half a month since i ended up constipated but now its gonna be even tougher my goal is 3 months which is like 90 days!

stairs

Posted Monday June 25 2007, 9:10 pm

I have a flight of stairs, and I'm sick of running everyday, so I was thinking I could just run up and down my stairs (plus I need to strengthen my knee/leg, I had surgery and I need to regain back all muscle). How many times should I run up+down, like going up and down is one time. Should I take a break in between a certain amount? What's a good amount to do daily. (Please by sets, not by time)
