I am a 21 year old female with a 10 month old daughter. Her father and I broke up for a period of 3 months, and during that time, both him and I have been with other sexual partners. As ashamed as I am, I had unprotected sex for just a few minutes(I know time doesn't matter) and he also did. I'm not sure of exactly what he did, because I do not want to know for emotional reasons, however, do need to know for health reasons. I do know he slept with someone unprotected. I got tested for STD's 2 and a half months after these incidents occurred and me and him were sleeping together again. I tested positive for Chlamydia and took antibiotics immediately to cure it. HIV came up negative but it was only at 2 and a half months testing. I've read alot about HIV and usually, as I read, conclusive results will come back by 10 weeks( exactly 2 and a half months ). They reccommend waiting until 3 months and then again at 6 to be sure. I read it is very rare to get a negative at 3 months and positive at 6 but it does happen to a small percentage of people. I just got tested today for it again, which will be my 3 month mark. I suffer from anxiety attacks as it is and am extremely worried about the results. I know I already tested at 2 and a half months and I read all different things(some say 6-10 weeks, some say as early as 2 weeks, some say 3 months) ...everyones body is different so at different times it will read the antibodies in the test. However, I cannot relax about this. I know alot of people worry about it after testing, but I am extremely worried. It is all I think about and I will know the results Friday but I'm really really scared I have it. We have had risky sex with other people these past few months now knowing their sexual status. I have already beat myself up over this many times and definately learned my lesson, but I can't shake this worry. I am distant from my boyfriend and am so scared if I have it, it will ruin my child's life. I may be overthinking this, but I am terrified for Friday and the doctor saying I am HIV positive. HIV is more common than society thinks, however, it is still a rare disease. I guess my question is, do you have any advice on how I can relax and ensure myself that I do not have HIV since it already came up neg after 2 and a half months?

so when im on my period i get SUPER emotional.
normally im really good at hiding my feelings.
butt if something isnt big but it just upsets me a little i start crying.. like MAJORlY.
to where i cant even hold it in.
&& some of my friends have even called me bi polar..

Its normal hormone imbalance. My friend gets really pissy and i could slap her a good one :) but i dont. And I cry over everything. But i am a naturally emotional person anyways. Like most dont notice it because i hold it in, but i have a really low tolerance for emotional pain you could say. And its completely normal. Its just PMS. And if your friends call you bipolar say no im just a PMS "potiental murder suspect"...

I realized I was gay when I was like 9, mostly b/c my parents are way controlling even wen i was little they wouldn't let me have friends who were guys...
so to me wen i was young, i was like ok mom and dad dont want me to hang out with guys, guess somethings wrong with em, so i eventually started liking girls instead.
Then me and my family moved to a new town when i was 14, and my parents finally agreed to let me go away to public skool, after a few months i kinda got bi-curious.
Long story short i ended up having sex with a guy, got addicted, became fully bisexual, then shortly afterward became so grossed out by how guys looked etc that i cudnt even be turned on enough to have sex w/ em ne more....
i told people that i was bi, wen i was, but now that im gay, i dont know if i have the courage to come out and say it because im afraid that i might go back to being bisexual...if i found a guy that didnt discussed me...which is doubtful, but if i tell ppl that im fully gay, it blows every guy, in my highskool, at least, out of the water, and i've still got 2yrs left to go..so i just dont know....

Ok well its okay to be gay, and bisexual. I have a gay friend ryan and i love him to death! And actually guys like girl on girl action. I have never tried it but if you feel it thats you. dont care about what everyone else thinks.

Okay, so I have been wearing tampons for about three years now. All of a sudden everytime I wear one it hurts extremely bad. When I take the tampon out it doesn't hurt anymore. I don't know what could be causing it. Help?

I'm 13 and I think I have just started my period. I have a little bit of redish discharge. I'm just not for sure and need a little advice.

Okay i have had mine for like 5 years. Thats how mine was. I would tell your mom and stick with pads for now until you get more used to it. You will get cramps, but they shouldnt be too bad. And it wont be regular for about a year. So it could be 1-3 or 4 months til you get it again. Its just how it is. Tell your mom about it or a trusted female adult because men arent too good with this.

well i was think about getting a perm. i'm asian by the way. so i have kind of wavy hair but i straighten it alot. also my hair is about an inch or two above the middle of my back. i wanted to get a perm like how ashley tisdale has in her video for he said she said. so yeah i was wondering if there was any other perms that i could get that would look good. thanks a lot.

I got a perm once, and i sat there for 3 hours. But my hair is really thick and i got the little curls because that is what my step mom made me get. And you cant wash your hair for 24 hours. And it stinks really bad. But once mine wore off it made my natural curls come back to life so now it looks like taylor swifts hair. Im sure your hair would look beautiful. I would just use big rollers and have it professionally done. Just a warning though it kills your hair.

Well if you really love him and your parents approve, you shouldnt care what everyone else thinks. If they cant accept him they cant accept you. If you love him thats all that matters.

My best friend is having a birthday soon and I want to throw her a party. She really likes parties so I think it would be a neat idea. I've never thrown a party before so I need some suggestions and advice on how to go about throwing her one.

She'll be turning 16.
I'm inviting around 25 guests.

First off, I'm not sure where in the world to get party supplies at. Where do I purchase party supplies? Are there places to buy party supplies online at or specific party supply stores? I'm looking for fun party decorations / supplies.

Next, should we have some sort of party games? What party games would be appropriate? We're both virgins and are going to stay that way until we're married so I'm against all sex party games or adult themed party games. I'm strictly looking for a birthday party game for teenagers.

I'm going to buy her a birthday card, a cake, a small gift, and decorate the place we're going to have the party. Are there any specifics I should do when decorating to make it look fun? I just turned 16 friday! At my party i just put up a badminton and volleyball set and cornhole boards. And me and my brother in law and cousin and friends was batting around and having a lot of fun. And we just cooked out. And my cake was the number 16. And it was made out of cupcakes which made it easier to serve. haha. And i just decorated with my favorite colors and turned up the radio. So I'm in a relationship for the first time, and on top of that, my boyfriend was my first real, major crush. I've had a crush on him for a few months (pretty much since I met him), and we've been going out for three weeks....so these kinds of feelings are rather new to me, and I guess as for most people / teens, they can be pretty...intense, shall we say...and I'm wondering if it's better to let myself get caught up in it and completely enjoy the experience or to stay attached to the earth and realize that as a teen, I'm a naive, hormone-flooded being and keep in mind that teen relationships are usually basically purely for fun, and therefore not take to seriously what I think I feel at any point, because it probably isn't "really true."

Ok to be blunt, its okay. You will meet new people in life and there is nothing you can do about it. I mean yeah there is a risk for your best guy friend to go to another girl, but does he even know you like him? Are you even dating? If you arent dating how can you be mad at him for liking another girl especially if he dont know you like him?? And if you worry about meeting new people all the time, you wont have fun. Because that is what makes life fun honey!! Trying new things. Introduce yourself. Tell this guy you like him. What have you got to lose?

And as for the tampon you insert it into your vagina. There is only 3 holes. The hole urine comes out of, the vagina, and the anal cavity. You insert it into the vagina. When inserting make sure your fingers are on the grip. Your fingers should be touching skin, thats how you know you are far enough, then you push it in slowly but surely. It hurts the first couple of times but it gets easier, and it helps if you are relaxed.

And when you masterbate, you stick (insert item here) into the vagina as well.

NOTE: ONLY and i repeat ONLY use a tampon when you are on your period. Always remember while wearing a tampon you are at risk for TSS...

Well I used to straighten my hair a lot but it got damaged pretty badly. So I was wondering, I've seen some things out there and they look like brushes. Are those like hair straighteners? Or are they something else? And where could I get one for not a lot of money?

I straighten my hair a lot too, but i wouldnt reccomend those brushes. They damage your hair. I just use treseme heat recovery shampoo and moisture hair care conditioner. They help really well with the hair. And plus it makes your hair feel and smell good, and feel really light weight! It might take a few days of washing it but you see improvement within 3 days. Trust me it works!

Well, i like this guy a lot in my class. One of my friends said that he liked me but she didn't tell me until today. She said that she found out a week ago. He is a big flirt and he hugs a lot of girls (including me) and has a lot of girls that are his friends. That dosen't bother me but i'm not sure if he flirts with me. Actually, i don't know if he does or not. If he does, it's not like he overly does it, i mean he sits by me in class and hugs me. Recently I've been having a lot of dreams where I'm with the perfect guy for me.
When I wake up, I can't help feeling so disappointed and sad.
I have a sort of a boyfriend but things aren't easy between us at the moment.
The guy in the dream is some guy I don't know but yeah...
I know it sounds really stupid but is there any way I could stop having these dreams or stop feeling disappointed/sad when I wake up?

You cant really stop a dream. Its your imagination winding down. And maybe this reoccuring dream you are having is trying to tell you something. It could be either this guy you are with is the one, and you need to talk it out. Or you could do better and should break up.

I have no clue, but it's possible. Here's a list of things people think I have.
-type 1 diabetes
-A.D.D
-sleep apnea

And now here are some symptoms others and myself have noticed I have.
-stress
-bad mood
-urinating frequently
-increased thirst (drinking lots of water lately)
-I'm always tired now
-I have bad memory during the day
-I sometimes wake up with sore throats
-every once in a while I get this like sour/sweet breath
-Some days I get really hungry, some days I barely eat anything
-I've been getting a lot of headaches lately ( I rarely got them before and no it's not because theres been more noise)
-I have pretty bad anxiety
-I can rarely focus for a long time
-I always give up on things if I don't them right the first time even though I know I should give up
-I get really frustrated when I try to do home work/school work or a lot of things
-I'm almost always worrying or nervous about something

Shall I go on?
I don't know I think i'm just being a hypochondriac. What do you think?

I think theres something wrong with me.

I don't usually have intense fears of things, like everyone i have those little things like heights but i overcome it.

The problem is i have this really intense phobia-like fear of snakes.

Even the thought of them makes me cringe and i feel really sick, sometimes i even shake.

My boyfriend one time when i told him about how i feel about them he wasn't being mean but he started saying that he doesn't think they're that fast, he was more trying to tell me they arent something to worry about, but it was just awful. I said okay and shook off the thought and then he said that the black mambo is the fastest and i said i didnt want to know and he started telling me how fast it goes and i just freaked out and started crying, hyperventalating and couldnt go near him.

Is there something wrong with me?

You have a phobia. I do too except mine is crickets. I'm not as bad as i was, but i would cry if i even saw one. And as for your boyfriend he was probably just picking on you and didnt think you would be that upset. But i bet he felt bad after. They always do ;]

I am trying to do the whole animal shelter support thing. Aside from volunteering and donating toys and food I want to adopt a cat. The local animal shelter is great but I need some advice about a certain possible pet. I searched on Petfinder and saw that my local shelter has a Maine Coon Cat kitten up for adoption.

Now, I know there are different breeds of cat but are Main Coon Cats good choices for pets? Are they usually more aggressive than other cats and kittens? The shelter says that this cat is polydactyl (what are polydactyl cats anyway?) and will probably be larger than the average housecat--does this mean it's going to be a mean cat? Should I go for this specific cat breed or stay away and look for a "normal" house cat?

So, not too long ago, I was watching a movie in the local theater called American Gangster (stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, just for reference). I know there are plenty of movies about the mafia, gangsters, and mobsters but one question really hit me during the movie:

Is the mafia actually real?
I mean, seriously, does the mafia exist?

Was the mafia made up for television and movies by Hollywood?

In some movies you hear about the Russian mafia, the Italian mafia, etc. I even know there are also television series based on the mafia like The Sopranos. So, IF the mafia is real--they must be lots of different kinds, right? Would that mean that the Russian mafia is located in Russia, the Italian mafia is located in Italy, and so forth?

Any information is appreciated because I'm pretty clueless. Thanks!
