Shall I go on?
I don't know I think i'm just being a hypochondriac. What do you think?
In case this helps I just turned 15.
1. Stress -- EVERYONE experiences stress. EVERYONE. The key is this: Should you be experiencing stress? Are there stress factors in your life? you are very young and at an odd age so the answer is most likely YES, you should be under stress.
2. Bad Mood -- Again, EVERYONE has bad moods. Everyone has up and downs. Again, your age applies to this because you're under...STRESS! You are pressured to be beautiful, intelligent, well-liked, etc. by your peers. Of course you're going to get cranky sometimes.
3. Urinating frequently -- this could be from a small bladder, overactive bladder, or even from excessive thirst. If you're dehydrated your body drinks more--and will still have to get rid of the nasty gunk so you'll urinate more. What a concept! ;)
4. Increased thirst -- are you playing a lot of sports or sweating more than you have been? It is summer time, after all, and you may be sweating more than you think. If you have an overactive bladder it also would cause this to happen.
5. Tiredness -- You're a teen--do you stay up late? Do you get 8hours of sleep a night? Stress can cause you to become tired very easily. Plus, if you're dehydrated you can be tired.
6. Bad memory -- Stress, dehydration, and tiredness all cause bad memories and memory loss. Relate back to what you've stated above and what I've listed for causes of it.
7. Wake up with sore throats -- Everyone wakes up with sore throats sometimes. It usually means that you were in a really deep sleep and had your mouth opened a little. It's nothing to worry about unless it's VERY painful or happens extremely frequently. If you snore, you may not be getting a good enough rest, keep in mind, so it may trace back to why you are tired.
8. Sour/Sweet Breath -- Everyone ends up with weird breath at some point. Think back to what you've eaten within the past few hours and if you've brushed, flossed, and mouth washed since then.
9. Really hungry but barely eat -- Your body could be lacking vital nutrients really. Pick up a multivitamin.
10. Headaches -- Stress. Dehydration. Tiredness. Vitamin Deficiency. Being 15.
11. Anxiety -- Stress and tiredness. You would NOT believe how much stress messes with your life. And, again, you're 15--people are constantly pressuring you to be perfect.
12. Can't focus for a long period of time -- A person with ADD can't focus longer than few seconds. They can't read a book. They couldn't even typed what you typed without it taking hours because of their constant mind jitters. This is way overly diagnosed when it isn't true. You're stressed. You may need vitamins. You're tired. You could be dehydrated. You're 15. If you can sit still for one full minute without having the NEED to jump up and DO SOMETHING or SEE SOMETHING then you're OK.
13. Give up -- Read 12 and what I am writing below after I get done with these.
14. Refer back to 13.
15. Refer back to all above.
You are a 15 year old. You sound like you're overly worrying because people keep saying that you're not perfect.
You see, you are being pressured every day to be perfect by your peers. You're at a time in your life that you're easily influenced. When YOU believe something then your mind will show symptoms of it. You simply sound like a stressed out teenager to me.
You probably cannot focus because teenagers now have so many things they have to constantly be thinking of. "How will my friends feel about this? Where are my friends, do they see me? I need to look good. Do my friends REALLY like me or are they just being nice? I have to do [THIS] to make people like me but it takes up a lot of time!" When you're stressing out, you're not going to be able to focus. You're not going to be able to sit still and say, "Okay, I NEED to do my hours worth of homework. Let's do this."
Your mind is a wonderful thing. If you keep saying, "I am poor. I am poor. I am poor." then you begin to dress, speak, and act like you are financially unstable. If you keep saying, "I can't do this!" then you will talk yourself into not being able to do something. If you keep telling yourself that you are sick then guess what? Your body starts showing symptoms of that illness even if you don't have it!
I suggest you RELAX.
If you are seriously concerned that you may have a medical problem then please see a doctor for testing. Diabetes can be easily tested within seconds. Most people with sleep apnea are very overweight--usually obese. You definately do not have ADD so please stop making yourself believe into having those symptoms.
Regarding to work/school issues about being frustrated with homework and not being able to focus. You may want to have some testing done on yourself about your mental abilities. Some people with dyslexia and various learning disorders experience these problems. People with learning disorders (no matter how small) also feel anxious, frustrated, nervous, unable to focus, irritable, etc. because it is hard for them to keep up with the students without the disorder. You may not even realize your disorder--some people go YEARS without finding out from a few tests that they are dyslexic--and then they realize why they struggled to get through the book that was assigned and got so nervous over the test. To me, it sounds like nothing but being a stressed 15 year old but only YOU KNOW.
Enjoy being 15 and stop worrying about being imperfect. I'm sure you're just stressing over nothing. Make a doctor's appointment for some testing and tell your school about your learning issues and maybe they will be kind enough to do some testing.
Please do not get sucked into medications. So many people are prescribed medications so that the big man will get a buck. You don't have ADD so please don't fall into that pit. That is a hard road to travel.
I hope you learn and grow enough to relax about being a teen. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me! :) [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]
