Answers That I've Given
Question:
I have some JPEG files its contains texts but I want to edit some information on it.
So I want to convert it in Doc. Files.
How can I Do this without Download any software.
My Answer:
You cannot edit the texts on the images like that. You would need an image editor, such as Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.NET, Photoscape, etc.
For a beginner who had never edit an image before, I suggest you try out Photoscape or Paint.NET if you wish to accomplish this, because both of them are fairly simple to use, and probably won't take more than about 15 minutes to learn your ways around.
Photoscape: http://www.photoscape.org/
Paint.NET: http://www.getpaint.net/
If you find this to be too troublesome, you can send the JPEG image to me and I will edit it for you. You can contact me using my email (found on my profile) or Skype (my Skype username is ThirdQED). The program that I would use is GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/ ), by the way.
Question:
I have a JPEG files its contains only text on it but now I want to correct some text on it & I also want to put some pix in it. so I want to Convert it in rtf. File format. is this possible? but I want the best quality after I convert it.

Question:
Okay, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time. It was in the spur of the moment, and there was no condom. God, I had that part. I NEVER thought I'd be that girl. I swore I wouldn't. But it happened, and now I'm scared.
He didn't cum, it was only a few minutes. But can you get pregnant from precum? And can you tell if you precum? Like, my friends say I should be fine. But I'm a little paranoid. I'm gonna try and get Plan B to be safe. But can someone tell me if I should be worried? Like...can I get pregnant from precum? Can you tell if you precum? Okay...thanks.
My Answer:
Strictly speaking (again, strictly speaking only), pre-cum or pre-ejaculation fluid, by itself, does NOT contain sperm. However, there's a catch on that.
And here's that catch: pre-cum might carry sperm--it does NOT contain it, but it might carry it. Confused? Think of how a river might carry "stuffs" with it as it flows, this works in the same way.
AFTER your boyfriend came (or ejaculated), whether by having sex with you or by masturbation, some of his sperms may be left in the urethra. Now, pre-cum is released from the Cowper's glands, which are located at the TOP of a man's urethra. Can you guess what that mean?
Yes, you are correct! As it goes through, pre-cum might pick up the leftover sperms in the urethra; thus, carry the sperms with it . . . outside . . . and might be even into your vagina. Usually urinating between ejaculations would flush most (if not all) of the leftover sperms out.
==========
Chances of getting pregnant from the sperms carried by pre-cum? Oh, about 4% - 19%. Fairly small chance. Sperms are wimps who die very easily, and while they can survive up to 3 to 5 days maximum,under good condition, the ovum (matured egg, plural is ova) only has 12 to 24 hours to live.
Don't stress yourself out too much if this is just a one-time thing. If you do this everyday though, you would want to worry.
==========
Can he tell if the pre-cum is coming out? No, most men cannot. They can tell if they are about to pee in the pants or if they are about to ejaculate (hopefully your boyfriend does, else, you've a bit more trouble there), but they cannot tell if the pre-ejaculation fluid is coming out.
===============================
My suggestion is that you wait at least ONE WEEK after you've missed your supposed-to-happen period and take a home pregnancy test. Then wait for another week and take another test, just to make sure.
Of course, home pregnancy tests aren't as accurate as meeting with your doctor and have him/her check for you. So . . . you know, visit a doctor if pregnancy symptoms come up.
Question:
I'm an idiot
I've been seeing this girl, and we had sex couple nights ago but unprotected, and I came.
I pulled out straight away afterwards thinking of how stupid I am, and I told her what happened. Thankfully she takes half the blame on herself as well..
Anyway, this was about 2am.. and 12 hours later she went into town and got a pill.
I'm still quite nervous though, she doesn't track her periods so she won't now if she is late or not.
She said she will take a test anyway and I told her to get another pill tomorrow (that would be within the 72 hours still)
what can i do?
My Answer:
Pray for a healthy child? Might be a good time to start saving some money for child raising. And while at that, attend a parenting course and a child-development course, too. Oh, also, go to your doctor and ask for prenatal care; that would be good. You know, take the responsibility and be show that care for your sweetheart more than anything else, support her with life, etc. :-)
My apology for the lines above. Surely that wasn't what you wanted to hear. But you know, that's pretty much all that the man can do after ejaculated inside her. Whatever happens from that point on, happens inside her body, which means there is little you can do to significantly change it, except to do whatever you can to keep her happy and less stressful.
Anyhow, don't beat yourself over it. Accidents happens; what's done is done. You can only support her now; she's the one who will have to do the real works. Also, just because you came inside, doesn't mean there's 100% that she's pregnant, not to mention that she's on Plan B soon after.
Sperms can survive up to 3 to 5 days (max) in the woman's body, in good condition; while the ovum can only survive 12 to 24 hours (max). Also, how old is she? Women are generally born with one to two million follicles (immature eggs), but throughout her entire lifetime, only about 400 of those two millions will ever become matured eggs (or ova [ova is plural form of ovum]). If she's above 50, you have little to worry about. Okay, this is definitely NOT the case, but hey, you never told us her age.
(Next time, age matters. Please do tell us in your question.)
==============================
==============================
What she can do at this point is go for emergency contraceptions (ECs) and pregnancy tests, which it seems like that you've already done them. But here's a quick run down of the two and how to use them most effectively:
The morning-after pill (abbreviated as ECP) that she has taken is one of the EC methods. It offers 75% effective rate; that's fairly high, but of course, that means there's about 25% failure rate.
IUD is another one, but it requires corporation from a doctor, which you might not have and it's not very popular either. So let's skip this.
Also, there is a new EC (emergency contraception) that just came out, called "Ella" (Ulipristal Acetate). While the ECPs are only effective up to 72 hours after, Ella offers 120 hours after (which is about 5 days). It has been around in Europe for quite a while, but the US's FDA (Food/Drug Administration) have NOT approved it . . . yet; so it is as of now (as of the day I type this post, which is July 10, 2010) unavailable in the USA . (The FDA's experts voted unanimously 11-to-0 that it's all right to use, but the final decision won't come out until around the end of July at the earliest, might be later than that.) Nevertheless, depending on where you live and the availability of this, you might want try this out.
(Next time, please do tell us your location, at least the country that in which you live in, not just the planet :-) .)
========================
As for home pregnancy test, if you take it soon after you have sex, the result is likely to be false. (And yes, the damn advertisement of 99% correct after 1 day is a big, fat lie!)
For accuracy, home pregnancy tests are to be taken one week AFTER she has missed her supposed-to-happen period; then take the test once again a week later. Now, in this case, she never tracked her periods, so I suggest you talk to her and take an educated guess somewhere to perform the test. If it comes out negative, wait one to two weeks later, then take another test. If it is another negative, wait for another week, then take another test, just to make sure. After that, just watch for pregnancy symptoms.
If any of the test comes out positive, visit a doctor. Heck, negative or positive, it's best to visit a doctor for an accurate test. But, you know, if money is the matter or whatever other reason that prevent you from visiting a doctor, when any of the home pregnancy tests comes out positive, just swallow your pride and embarrassment and visit a doctor--pay in payments if you have to. The earlier you two start your plan to care for the baby, the healthier and better both for the mother and baby it becomes. I cannot stress this enough.
Good luck!

Question:
I am considering buying the paid account here on Advicenators. I'm especially interested in the fact that I can change my username (or column name, I guess it's called) to something different. I have a couple of questions though for the people who do currently have paid accounts:
- How many times can I change my username? Just once?
- Does the detailed information on the questioner tell the person's username too? Because I was thinking that it sort of defeats the anonymity of the site then...
- Is it worth the $10 for a year for a paid account, in your personal opinion?
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!
My Answer:
1. You can change your username as many times as you want. I changed mine three times.
2. No,it does NOT include the username. Sometimes you won't even have the askers' age if they refuse to provide that information.
3. In my opinion, only two things are good about having a paid account: no ads and customizable profile layout; the rest of the features are almost useless and definitely not appealing.
However, you are able to keep the customized profile layout that you've created even after the paid account has expired so . . . you know, maybe just pay for a year is enough.
(Also, about the profile layout, if you do become a premium member but don't know enough about CSS and HTML to create one, you can request someone who knows about it to make one for you.)
Question:
Does the internet really know what its talking about?
Both my parents smoke in the house, internet says the person breathing in the smokers smoke is more at risk of getting sick, because you're breathing in the smoke from the cigarette and then you're also breathing in the smoke the smoker is exhaling, what doesn't make sense is wouldn't the smoker be more at risk then me especially if its BOTH my parents smoking around eachother because they're both breathing in eachothers smoke.
I mean I go in my room to get away from it as much as I can, so how can I possibly be more at risk of getting lung cancer then them?
please helppp.
My Answer:
I afraid that I will have to challenge user WittyUsernameHere's statement below, and therefore "burst your bubbles" (my apology), because there are two sides of the story on this whole secondhand smoke business.
Well, how should I start? Let's begin on how secondhand smoke is theoretically (emphasize on theoretically) more harmful, first, shall we? We'll move on to why it's only on theory later, though here's something to look forward to: According to EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), for every one non-smoker who died due to secondhand smoke, eight smokers died due to firsthand smoking.
=========================
All right, first stop: Secondhand smoke is more dangerous, theoretically.
There are two types of smokes that the secondhand smokers are inhaling: mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke.
---Mainstream smoke: The firsthand smoker inhale about 15% (yes, only 15%) of this "addicting stuffs," filters it throughout his or her body, then exhale it into the air. There you go; this is mainstream smoke: Smoke that went through the firsthand smoker's "filter system" (let's call it that just for the fun of it).
---Sidestream smoke: This is the smoke that come right off the cigarette (or whatever he or she is smoking). This is unfiltered, which means it contains much higher concentration of the cigarette's harmful substances than in mainstream smoke.
As a secondhand smoker, you, heh, take both mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke into your body. Once again, the secondhand smoker is taking BOTH mainstream AND sidestream smokes into his or her body. In other words, the firsthand smoker is taking a lower dose of the poison (15%) and let the secondhand smoker "enjoy" the rest.
This is why many believe that secondhand smoking is more harmful. Can we blame them? No, not really. They have a solid point there, and it is true as well.
=========================
Okay, now with the theory aside, let's move on to some real-life stuffs.
According to EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), for every one non-smoker who died due to secondhand smoke, eight smokers died due to firsthand smoking. This means firsthand smoking is still more harmful, despite the scientific proven facts above about how secondhand smoking is more dangerous.
Let's go back to the story about how the smoker only inhale about 15% of the smoke. Well, the other 85% becomes spread out once they hits the air--the substances are still there, maybe mixed with some other chemicals (who knows what on earth is available in your house). Although that means it is no longer as concentrated as it was, it still remains in the air. The 85% is still there, just more spread out and maybe mixed, that is all.
And when you walk by it, you inhales some of it--but not all, most likely not all of it because you aren't just going to stand there and sniff it, unless you two are in a closed and small environment for long period of time. Since none of us here know how your house is set up and how often your parents are smoking, use your own judgement on this: How much are you inhaling? For all we know, you might actually be just inhaling just as much cigarette smoke as them, if you live in an enclosed environment and they smoke a lot in the house, while you rarely leave the house and often stay within their smoking area.
Here's a tip: If you find yourself or if your friend thinks that you smell like a smoker, you probably are around smokes too much. Anyhow, more or less, secondhand smoking hurts, regardless of the amount. Sure, you might not have cancer, but the damage is still done to your body, which could potentially cause something like respiratory problems, heart disease complications, etc., etc.

Question:
I'm starting school in august and just want something easy to use with good battery life that is durable. All computers seem the same to me!! Just have to write papers and use the internet basically... And store music and pictures
My Answer:
For college, you probably want a laptop, because that would be easier to carry around.
Secondly, what operating system do you want? Windows or Mac?
---Windows offers a wider range of softwares and programs, but that also comes with a wider range of malware as well (you know, virus, trojan, spyware, etc.). Mac is definitely a safer choice for college works, because you wouldn't want to have your term paper all typed and then BAM! Your computer is infected with a virus and you don't know how to deal with it. That would suck!
(It would be wise to also note that Macs aren't completely immune to malwares. Currently there are a few out there that targets Mac, but most [if not all] of them are bundled in pirated-softwares because they required elevated permission in order to install.)
So if money is not the problem (since Macs are more expensive than Windows PCs), I would recommend you to go with a Macbook, unless, of course, if you are confident in your computer skills of preventing and dealing with malwares (viruses, spywares, trojans, etc.)
====================
Third, decide whether your needs will grow.
---Okay, so currently all you want is to "write papers and use the internet [...] and store music and pictures" (quoted you); for such tasks, just about any current Macbooks will do. But do you think that in a few more years that needs would grow? We are talking about the course of two or three years here, at the earliest--maybe more, if you are like many other computer users who only buy new computers when their current one is completely broken.
Also, what are your preferences? Take some time and weigh your choices between portability, power, battery life, etc. Would you want something clearly excel in one area or would you want something balanced? While at that, consider how much would you want to spend?
This is where I cannot help you any more, because it's entirely up to you now--or rather, it's entirely up to what you would need and want in the future. Give it a thought and talk to the sale representative about it. He or she would be able to directly help you at that.
Question:
ok so one more question. why does my voice still crack? im 15 basically done with puberty so why does my voice still crack all the time? is there a way to stop it and how long will it keep happening?
My Answer:
Uh, well, to begin with, you might want to tell me whether you are a guy or a girl. All questions on here are anonymous, you see, so I have no idea who you are.
Also, you might still be in the puberty range at 15. There are late bloomers who only start their puberty time when the reach 15. I am not sure when you started puberty but I suggest you give it a few more years and see what happens. I know of this guy who is 18 years old and his voice still crack here and there (we made fun of him a lot when he sings, lol, though he loves to sing for some reason).
As for your question, there's no way to completely treat cracking voice caused by puberty. You can keep it from being too serious like stop drinking extreme cold or hot water, don't yell or scream too much, and so on, so on (you know, all the common stuffs that parents keep teaching us when we tell them about this voice-cracking problem). But there's no way to actually force it to stop, really.
On another note, if your voice cracking is accompanied by pain or throat fluid, or maybe an unusual rise in your body's temperature, you want to start scheduling an appointment with doctor soon. That can be signs of some problems such as inflammation of vocal cord, which, if left untreated and in worst case (again, this is in *worst* case only, so don't worry too much), lead to throat cancer.
Also, if you smoke, that can be the cause as well. I believe that this is common knowledge so I won't go into this (you know, since everyone from the good kids to the schools are quite enthusiastic at pointing out the harms of smoking).
That's pretty much all I can tell you; sorry for not being much of a help,
ThirdQED :-)
Question:
Ok, I've been talking to this guy from school online ever since summer break started. He's really awesome (and so cute) and he says he really likes me a lot. Last night when we were signing offline and going to bed he was like, "I 1073 You! Goodnight & Sweet Dreams!"
I don't know what 1073 stands for though. I know like the 143 thing meaning "I love you" but this 1073 is a new one on me. What's it mean? Should I say the number back to him or something? lol I don't want to look like an idiot and just ask him about it...anybody know?
My Answer:
1 = L (one looks like a lowercase L)
0 = O (zero is similar to o)
7 = V (look at it side way)
3 = E (text speech, we all know this)
There! :-) It's basically "love" spelled using numbers rather than letters.
Question:
recently, me and my friend been distant with each other. We kept on arguing and somewhat we had issues that was never solved, so yesterday i tried talking it out with her, we had an argument yesterday and things were just falling apart for both us, i had to say sorry how i was being self-centered and things i didn't want to admit how i was wrong about, also that i told her how she meant a lot to me. Everything went fine and we're back to being friends again, but if i did not say sorry about those things our friendship would have changed.
The thing about it is, that i feel powerless,vulnerable and weak because i admited and said sorry about how i was acting towards her, everything is fine now but im crying about it because somehow it hurts me when i should be happy that me and my friend fixed the problem. I feel like sh*t right now and i dont know why, i feel like i gave her the power and the satisfaction and i dont know why i feel this way, why i do feel this way? is it pride?
I feel like i shouldnt have sorry but i really needed to, i dont understand why i feel all this.
My Answer:
Hello there, thank you for privately asking this question. However, I am not a good person to send relationship and emotional questions to because, well, I am just as clueless as anyone can be. I suggest you ask user Peeps this question; she would be more helpful than me: http://www.advicenators.com/column.php?u=Peeps
As for my personal opinion, I believe that you did the right thing; and that was very courageous of you, too :-) You see, courage doesn't always roar--courage isn't always about things like "I will go into the heart of the enemy's base and kill the Demon King." No, it isn't always like that. Sometimes courage is the quiet little step that you took back in order to preserve what you care and love. You should be proud of what you did.
Pride? Maybe. It could also be stubbornness as well, or even a little bit of both. Both you and your friend have that bit of pride and stubbornness--all of us do. Heck, that's why there are wars in the first place. Some people are too stupid to know when it is all right to take a step back to prevent further escalation. There is nothing to worry about on this one, because it's just natural to feel this way, and all of us have moments like this in our lives--moments when our pride is hurt.
Anyhow, point is that . . . please don't feel powerless and weak. Sure, you might have let her have the ground this time; but if she truly was at fault, somewhere deep down inside, she would feel it, too, though her pride might be preventing her from expressing it out openly with you. You did a right thing so let yourself be satisfied with the result--after all, you are the courageous hero here who managed to settle a conflict all by herself :-)
Wish you and your friend all the best,
ThirdQED :-)
Question:
i am well soon to turn 15 and me and my boyfriend really want to have a baby. my boyfriend is 100%loyal to me. i guess i want to know if i should go through with this. i mean what to tell my mom i dont know my 16 year old sister is already thinking she might be pregnant to. i also would like to know if it is expensive to be home schooled and be home with my child. thank you.
My Answer:
Well, congratulation to you two :-)
But there are a few problems. Let's quickly go through them, shall we?
____

|| Mental and physical readiness
\\______________________________|
Your body is still developing; it is not yet complete and stable. The best age to have children is between 21 to 29 years old, 35 years old is when you should stop having babies; having babies after 40 years of age is NOT recommended and should be avoided.
Maybe you can wait for another 5 or 6 years? Yes? Time really flies, you see :-)
Also, pregnancy is a very stressful process, and it takes a lot of toll on your body as well as your mind. One wrong move and your baby will be hurt--that's really unfortunate and unfair for the baby. That why before and during which time, "prenatal care" is recommended. You can ask your doctor about this and he or she should be able to explain better than I am.
____
//#2|_________________
|| Financial readiness
\\____________________|
Babies are expensive--both to give birth and to raise them. Are you and your boyfriend able to make a living on your own without your parents' help? Do you have some money saved in your bank account? Assuming that you are living in the USA, if your income is below $1000 USD a month, you would have a difficult time providing your baby with all of his or her needs.
In short, you want to have enough money to provide your child a decent childhood. Can you do that?
____
//#3|________
|| Commitment
\\___________|
Babies are easier to make than to raise; this is something that we all know, right? Do you know how to raise a baby? Do you know how to stop him or her from crying? How well do you manage your anger and control yourself? You see, babies are adorable, but they can also be annoying sometimes because they don't know anything. Heck, they can't even speak!
Babies can bother you a lot, yet they are also very, very, very fragile. Have you ever heard of "Shaking Baby Syndrome"? It's a condition when the baby's brain is seriously damaged because he or she was shook by an adult (usually a parent who failed to control his or her frustration.) Here's where you can learn more about it: http://www.dontshake.org/ . It's a sad, sad thing, really :-(
In short, knowledge is very important. You need to know what to do when your baby is sick or crying non-stop, or when unexpected things happen. If you don't think you know enough, let's wait and study on that first, before giving birth to one.
Good luck and I hope that you will make the correct decision,
ThirdQED :-)
P.S. Also, if something bad happen and you run out of help, give me a call. Perhaps something can be done before it takes a worse turn. My contact information can be found in my profile.
Question:
There is this really hot girl I've been talking to. She told me she's slept with a lot of people. I mean, a lot, like 40 something guys. She's so hot though and, to be frank, she's easy.
I want to have sex. She told me that she'd do it with me next week if I come over to her place while her parents are gone. She has a big pool there and she said she always does it in the pool so that she's clean and STD free. What she was saying was that the chemicals in the pool kill any STDs that somebody might be carrying.
Sounds great but I want to double check this. I'd hate to have to go to the doctor after banging her. Is she telling the truth?
My Answer:
Bullshit!
Once again, due to my lack of vocabulary: Bullshit!
It does NOT prevent STIs, no, absolutely not. Water doesn't even guarantee to kill sperms, which means if you ejaculate insider of her, she still can become pregnant. In fact, rather than helping, it might cause MORE troubles, such as irritation or infection (because there would be some type of chemical or bacteria in the water).
She's not telling the truth. That's a lie!
By the way, good luck! :-)
Question:
I'm not sure if this is in the right category... But anyway, I am 21 Female and I hate my personality. I kinda always have!. I have a lot of things wrong with me. I'm lazy, selfish, socially awkward, jealous, geeky, crazy and I let people down easy. I cant tell AT ALL if I am bugging, hurting, offending or embarrassing someone. I cant hold a conversation and I have a hard time starting them. When I have them people usually find me awkard to talk to cuz I dont know how to react. People tell me to be myself and thats who I am so I desperately dont want to be myself. There are tons of ways to change outer appearance, I'm wondering if there are ways to change your personality. I go to Therapy and I have a great therapist but are there other things I should be doing? Are there certain, specific tereatments that can make me fun, cool, loyal, energetic, positive, and just one of those people everyone wants to talk to and be around? I will do anything and money isnt an issue. I need help. Its taking over my life and I just cant take it anymore. Please NO rude comments or anything saying "Just be yourself" "Love yourself for who you are" or anything like that. Thanks
My Answer:
Well, first and foremost, keep going to your therapist. That would definitely help.
Secondly, have you ever given martial art a thought? While it won't help you change overnight (I don't think there's anyway to do that, except to fake and force it), over a period of time, it would definitely help you become more loyal, energetic and positive--though I am not sure about the fun and cool part.
Judging from what you have described (as far as personality goes), if possible, I suggest you try to practice an art that focuses on join-locking and throwing, rather than one that focuses in striking. A few examples would be something like judo, jujitsu, and aikido. Of course, just go with whatever closest to your home or whichever you like the most.
It would be boring at first since you would need to learn the basics before all, but before you realize it, you would find yourself becoming more and more energetic and positive (as long as you don't quit in the middle, that is). Also don't let your current body built discourage you, martial art isn't just for the strong. Heck, in my local judo dojo, we have 60-year-old+ guys (yeah, no joke, 60+) still going "Hu-Ah!" and "Yah!" here. When I first came in, I kind of thought something along the line of "what the heck are these guys' bones made of?" Hahaha!
So talk with your therapist about it, then go visit a few dojos and talk to the instructors, watch their basics and spars, and decide which one to join. Don't be afraid, because most instructors are very friendly and willing to help enthusiastic students.
If successful, you would improve physically, gain confidence, and it would feel somehow easier to interact with others as well. It would definitely be a fun experience. I definitely recommend you to try it out, if possible.
Good luck,

Question:
hey. my name is evan. im 15 years old. i currently have melanoma skin cancer. this is kinda embarassing to ask but my older brother punches me in the junk for no reason alot and i just wanted to no why it hurts so much to be hit there. and also y does it hurt girls to be hit there? and y do i feel like throwing up when it happens. i hope these questions didnt make u feel uncomfortable. thanks for your help.
My Answer:
User rainbowcherrie pretty much answered everything that you asked. I only wish to add three more points:
1. Besides the high concentration of nerves, the testicles are also NOT protected by muscles or bones. The high concentration of nerves and the lack of protection leave your "manhood" vulnerable.
2. It takes a very strong force to be able to "cause infertility and in severe cases, even death" (quoted rainbowcherrie). In other words, crushing them with a baseball bat would done that, but the testes can stand most blunt traumas like a few kicks from a girl. About half of the force would be absorb thanks to the loose scrotum (the loose skin pouch that contain the testicles) because that allows the testicles to move slightly out of the way to avoid a direct hit--it holds similar principle as the tai-chi style of Chinese martial art.
When is it dangerous? Generally speaking, when the pain or the nauseate-feeling (wanting to throw up) doesn't go away after one hour, that's when you need a doctor--fast! Also, when you see signs like swelling or bruising, that's also a good time to start scheduling an appointment with a doctor.
3. Beat the crap out of the brother the next time he does that. That isn't the place to hit just for fun. How old is he anyway?
Question:
Hi. I am 19 years old and I've been pregnant 3 times now for sure. All three of these pregnancies were confirmed by store bought pregnancy tests AND doctor's appointments where they gave me pregnancy tests. I was for sure pregnant.
I smoke weed every day but, otherwise, take decently good care of myself, in my opinion. I've been smoking marijuana since I was like 14 years old. I don't want to stop smoking weed but I can't help but think that it has played a part in me losing 3 babies already. I suspect I am pregnant right now so I'm considering giving up the weed to see if I can carry the baby to term. Like I said though, I'd really like to keep smoking.
Do you think weed affects unborn babies? Will pot cause me to miscarry my baby? Did I miscarry my other babies because I smoked a lot of weed? Any answers pleeeeeease
My Answer:
You mentioned going to a doctor, right? Have you asked him about "prenatal care"? If not yet, you should schedule a visit with him or her and go over your prenatal care plan--preferably with your partner.
And yes, not just weed but also cigarettes, alcohol, drugs (even the recreational ones) increases the chances of miscarriage. Still, even so, at most the chances should be only about 30% to 35% at most--maybe 40% if you are a very heavy smoker.
Now, I supposed that you already see the problem. Again, even with smoking weeds, at most the chances should be only about 30% to 35% at most--maybe 40% if you are a heavy smoker. As you can already see, problem is that . . . so far, your miscarriages are at 100% rate (3 out of 3). Now that is unusual.
Of course, this might just be pure coincidence, and I could be completely wrong. I don't want to worry you too much (too much stress affects the baby, too) but I don't want to make any false assumption in these life-and-death kind of situation either. So I honestly suggest you to talk with your doctor about this. Some (if not most) doctors will be willing to have a quick talk with you over the phone for free. Now, of course he won't be able to know the exact cause, but he would be definitely more helpful than us--the stupid people online who more often than not know less than what we talk.
Again, seek help from a professional. There are help available everywhere, from your current school to your local university, and even doctors as individuals. If you seek it, you will find it. Best of luck to both you and your baby :-)
Oh, and yes, definitely give up the weeds, and any type of drug or alcohol that you are using. Again, prenatal care plan! Don't forget that :-)
Question:
I had sex with my boyfriend like crazy last night and early this morning. When we finally got out of bed I took a pregnancy test because my period is already a week late and it's never been late before. I did everything like the instructions in the box said to for this pregnancy test. I got the pregnancy test at a pharmacy place here, by the way.
The pregnancy test showed a + which says I'm pregnant on the paper. Well, I was wondering if having sex right before taking the test maybe caused it to have a false positive or something? Can you have sex right before taking a pregnancy test? Does sex affect a pregnancy test in any way?
My Answer:
Yeah, there're a few problems. Let's quickly go through them, shall we? :-)
____
//#1|___________________________
|| Sperms Don't Swim THAT Fast
\\______________________________|
From what I read, you took the pregnancy test right after you got out of the bed with your partner, right? Now that's a problem by itself. The sperms had NOT have time to even reach the egg yet--if there was an egg to be reached, that is. How on the planet Earth can the pregnancy test check?
(And of course, this is assuming that your partner isn't Superman, hehehe.)
____
//#2|___________________________
|| False-Positive Possibilities
\\______________________________|
False-positive results are rarer than false-negative results--still happens here and there, but rare. You can go to http://www.google.com (Google.com) and search for "pregnancy test false positive" (without the quotes) and read about the potential causes.
Me? I don't think many of those causes applies to you or the general populace of women who use the test anyway. Still, read through them and check if any of them applies to you. If not, let's move on to something not commonly known.
____
//#3|___________________________
|| If not, then it's TIME!
\\______________________________|
If all or most of those possibilities revealed by a Google search doesn't apply to you, then this might be something that you should watch out for. If this isn't it either, then you might want to wait one more week and try another test. Of course, in either cases, a visit to a doctor is recommended.
All right, here's the thing: After the reaction time is passed, the result should be ignore!
Every test has a reaction time interval, usually between five to ten minutes. After that time, problems start to occur. For example, one of the problems is that the kit might become too sensitive to the point that it can detect hCG in even men's urine. (HCG is what the home pregnancy test kits check for in order to determine whether the woman is pregnant or not.) Others include faded result, or evaporation lines, and so on, so on.
____
//#4|___________________________
|| That's a Positive Result
\\______________________________|
There's NO WAY for any of us to know for sure whether it's a false-positive result or not. Well, I suppose we could tell if you have never had sex in the last few months (except "the time right before the test") but we don't even know that so it's just simply impossible.
The only good thing that I can suggest is . . . go visit a doctor. If you are not pregnant, yay! Get on birth control pills and get him to use a condom. If you are pregnant, also yay! Time for some prenatal-care planning? Either way you two win, maybe except the cash (doctors don't come cheap), but hey, having a baby is like one of the four most joyous thing in a young married couples' life--it worth it.
Good luck and I wish you all the best,
ThirdQED :-)
P.S. Congratulation, too, if that's really a true positive :-D
Question:
how much does an abortion cost? i live in pittsburgh pa if that makes a difference.
My Answer:
Hello, I am from Ogden, UT (Utah), so I am not as familiar with Pittsburgh, PA. Generally, the price is different from clinic to clinic and it is dependent on how long you have been pregnant, as well as which method you choose to use.
But if my source is correct, around Pittsburgh, under 12 weeks is about $400 to $450 USDs and above it is around $520+ (over $500 USD), depending on how many weeks you have been pregnant.
The state of Pennsylvania also requires those who are under 18 years of age to have parental consent (by getting a parent to fill out a consent form) or go through a process called Judicial Bypass (meaning you will have to convince the court to allow you to do that without parental consent).

Question:
hi, i dont have like any money so my plan for my best friends graduation is to a dvd of all the videos we have ever made and put them all into one or two discs, problem is, idk which program to use. Windows DVD maker takes three days to attempt to load a video, then says error, roxio burn doesnt work either. i was hoping someone could tell me of a FREE dvd burning program, thanks in advance :)
My Answer:
I recommend either ImgBurn or BurnAware.
ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
BurnAware: http://www.burnaware.com/burnaware_free.html (Recommended)
ImgBurn is my all time favorite, but it might be a little bit complicated for first-time users. I usually burn ISO images for backing up purposes (every three month, I backup my important files onto DVDs, onto external drives every week, and onto online storage every three days), while almost never burn any audio or video. So I cannot guarantee how well it would work with something WindowsDVDMaker failed to work with. But definitely give it a try if and only if you know what format you wish to burn into.
BurnAware is more "your style," or so I would like to think. It is free (for home usage), simple, and clean. There's a button, you click, choose your source and destination, and you are done. Everyone can use it with ease.
Question:
hey! okay so I was a virgin up until a month ago and ever since me and my boyfriend (of over 5 months) have only had sex like 3 times since we first did it. I'm on birth control but I didn't know that you're supposed to take the white pills I thought that you didn't need to since they were the dummy ones so I never did lol he never came in me but what about precum? i'm usualy late with my period prob bc I dnt take the white pills and td (Tuesday) is the 2nd day I haven't gottenmy period. is there a high risk of me being pregnant or is my body just screwing with me ahaha help:(
My Answer:
So you used both the birth control pills and the withdrawal method (not ejaculating inside)?
Yes, I would say that there's a chance, but that's extremely small. You have to be quite a lucky (or should I say unlucky?) girl to be able to get pregnant like that. I would say you have a chance of somewhere between 6 to 15 in 1000 (0.6% to 1.5%) per year--NOT per time, but per year, a lot less than getting into a car accident and die, if I may say so.
That's very small, but of course, things happen. If you do find out that you are pregnant though, I suggest you try buying lottery tickets from now on. You are quite a lucky person :-)
Still, I recommend you to visit a doctor to check for pregnancy, just to make sure. If you are unable to do that (for whatever reasons), you can buy A FEW home pregnancy-test kits and check it yourself (it will check for the presence of hCG [human chorionic gonadotropin]. Wait at least ONE WEEK after you've missed your supposed-to-happen period (for more accuracy), and use one; then wait for another week, then use a second one. The more times you test and the later it is, the better accuracy.
Now, let's go through a few things in details, shall we?
===================
***First, Sperms in Pre-Cum:
--Strictly speaking (again, strictly speaking only), pre-cum or pre-ejaculation fluid, by itself, does NOT contain sperm.
==========
Chances of getting pregnant from pre-cum? Oh, about 4% - 19%.
==========
--You have a risk of getting STIs (sexual transmitted infections). I would recommend that before you two have sex, just go to a doctor's office and have a test for STIs. Yes, it might sound troublesome but hey, one test . . . for a lifetime (assuming that you two remain together for the rest of your life, without cheating on each other).

==========================
***Next, Possibility of Interference:
The point being that sometimes there might be interferences which would decrease the effectiveness of the pills. I do NOT know what you did during the time you two had sex so I cannot say for sure; you will have to use your own judgement on this. A few things that would affect the effectiveness:
--The pill may not be as effective for women who are overweight. If your BMI is over 27, watch out! (I've no idea what your age is so I don't know for sure.)
--Other medications can reduce its effectiveness, ask the pharmacist or doctor for details.
=========================
=========================
***Next, Consistency:
If you don't take your pills consistently, its effectiveness decrease, too. I'll try to explain why.
=====
"How do birth control pills prevent pregnancy""
--Basically, birth control pills stop ovulation. No ovulation means no egg is released, which means there is nothing to be fertilized by sperm.
=====
"How does birth control pills manage to do that?"
--Most of them have synthetic forms of estrogen and progestin, which serves to stabilize the woman's natural hormone levels. Basically, it fools your pituitary gland into not release other hormones that cause your ovaries to release the eggs.
=====
"What does that have to do with taking them at the same time every day?"
--Well, as you may have already noticed, the ultimate goal of the pills is to "stabilize the woman's natural hormone levels" (quoted above).
If you take the pills inconsistently (different time or skip days), you practically just created some ups and downs in your hormone levels on your own--in other words, you just break the stability.
That would cause your pituitary gland to do its job, which in turns would cause your ovaries to release the eggs. Sure, it's not a life or death kind of thing, but in medical context, this makes the differences between "typical use" vs. "perfect use"--that's a 3% of failure rate (typical use) vs. 0.5% of failure rate (perfect use).
**Hence: the white pills are just reminder pills. It is NOT an active pill, which means it contains no hormone in it. It's just a reminder, allowing you to not break your habit.

Question:
1. Going out every night, getting completely wasted and coming home around midnight.
OR
2. Smoking weed everyday, by yourself, when your mom's not home.
I guess I want to see what other people think? My friend keeps pushing on what I'm doing is so much worse that what she is, though I don't think so. Opinionnnns! :) oh both of use are 16 and females.
My Answer:
Well, tough choice, but I will have to with number 1 (as the worse one).
Reason is because at the very least, in number two, the activity is done "by yourself," (quoted you). Who knows what on Earth a girl would be doing or what could be done to her after she has gotten wasted together with her "friends."
That being said, however, both activities leaves damages in long term. It's not the question so I won't go into it, but if you are interested, feel free to drop in for another question.
By the way, I am curious, which one is you anyway?
Just wanted to know, :)
