i've heard that when you have a nightmare its because there's a spirit sitting on top of your chest, and thats why you get up feeling like you cant breathe.. is that true? i've also heard that if you put a cup of water under your bed in the center, it'll drown all the nightmares. (link)

That is just ridiculous! Dreams come from your subconscience, including nightmares. You may worry about something or fear something, even if you don't know it. You wake up breathless because because you are afraid which speeds up your heart rate. When you are frightened when you are awake, don't you feel the same way? And the water thing? Come on! Try praying to God about your nightmares. Maybe think of things that make you happy before bed.

If you are not ready to be a parent then you aren't ready to have sex. You are only fifteen? Way too young! Think of your future. When you get married, do you want to marry a man who has had sex with someone other than you? Imagine if he is a virgin, wouldn't that embarrass you to tell him that you aren't? I know that you didn't come here to here a parenting speech, but that is what you need. you should never do anything that you would be too embarrassed to tell your parents about. Remember that Jesus is with you every second of every day. Do you really want Jesus to see you doing something like that?

If this person is truly your best friend you wouldn't let anyone say anything about them! If my fiance said something racist about ANYONE, not only my friends, I would leave him. Why didn't she think of pregnancy before she decided to have sex? I try not to judge but I hate abortion. What is wrong with adoption? I will take it! She will only have to put up with it for nine months. Killing is never an option. Twenty years from now she may wake up in the middle of the night crying because she had killed her first gift from God. If you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to have kids. Abortion can ruin her chances of ever having children again. Does she really want to chance it? Besides, if her parents would kick her out because she made one mistake then they aren't needed anyway. I am sure that she could find somewhere else to stay.

So, my best friend forever is a little opinionated, close minded, and loud. Picture Paris from Gilmore Girls, for example. She's a lot like that but a little more feisty, if you will.
My boyfriend is opinionated about peoples opinions. He made her cry today by bringing up a past relationship problem.
We were hanging out today, the three of us, and she's really trying to be his friend. She even gave him one of her birthday cupcakes! But she's probably given up by now.

Okay. What I don't get is why is he so mean? If he doesn't like your best friend, why wouldn't he like you? Okay it may be your first serious relationship but if he is in the wrong you have to tell him. You can't just pick some guy over your "BFF". So you have been with him for a month and a half. How long have you known your best friend? Picking is hard but if you are stuck under the rock you need to pick at it until it is gone. Choose. Which is the rock that is crushing you?

i love my boyfriend so much. and i know he loves me. we were meant for each other. just couple things that make me :/ are....sometimes randomly he brings up something 2 of his exs did. his not comparing me or anything. but its just you know idc care about them i dont want to hear about them. and sometimes he has plans and ill think i get the whole day with him and then he'll tell me like the day before. waht to do. we neverrrr fight. and are relationship is nottt falling apart. its just those thinngs get to me sometimes. i love him. with all my heart. Okay. People say things, big deal. What I am worried about is that you two have never had an arguement. It just strikes me as odd that two people so in love have never faught. Tell him how you feel. My fiance always tells me in advance what his plans are and I him. Sometimes we forget or we randomly have to do something but that is where the trust thing comes in. The way you write "are relationship is nottt falling apart" sounds as if you are trying to convince more than me. Just think about that. It is possible to love someone and not be with them. Just remember that.

ok so I really really like one of my good friends. Im pretty sure that she likes me back, but the thing is is that I have no idea what to say to her when I tell her because I choke up everytime i try to say somethign to a girl that involves me liking them. I just love to help out. The first thing that made me smile about this is: you are a guy. Being tongue tied around her is sweet enough. Texting is never an option when telling a girl you like her. That is as bad as a note. Too fourth grade. No. If you want it to be sweet, tell her to her face. Two years is nothing. Me and my fiance are three years apart and have a great relationship. First thing you need to do: smile. Next, you tell her how wonderful you think she is. Then, you make your signiture move by telling her how you feel. If she doesn't like you back, don't sweat it. Life goes on.(flowers wouldn't be too corny at prom! Remember, a lot of girls still like that romantic stuff):)

Alrighty so I'm 17 years old, turning 18 in September. I've been raised with a mother who is cooky in the head, but has a strong religious side, although her other side might be extremely contradicting. But, on the other hand, I have been raised along a father as well, who is open minded, easy going, and just a tad bit religious, nothing big though. My dad's side is Catholic, my mom's side is Evangelist(i think). I, on the other hand, went to a Christian church, not sure what kind though, since there are many under Christianity. To be honest, yes, I believe in God, but I'm not devoted to church, nor am I very religious, I'm more like my father. Umm, recently, my boyfriend who is 18 years old has had his first communion, and confirmation. He talked to me, and it seriously got me thinking when he asked me the question, "Are you baptised, and if you aren't, would you like to be?". I found out I am NOT baptized, but I'm not sure about the second question. Can someone please shed some light?
-What is the purpose of being baptized?
-What if you aren't baptized and never get baptized?
-What religions require baptism and which don't?
- Pros and cons?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

The purpose of being baptised is to symbolize washing away your sins. Jesus died for you, right? The least you can do is be baptized. But I am not here to judge. I personally don't believe that God is going to damn you for not being baptized. I believe that he would want you to. But I also believe that he would want you to wait until you mean it. Don't follow through if you do not believe in Jesus and do not accept him as your savior. That would be wrong. I don't know which religions require baptism. I am a christian and I have had one. It was the most amazing feeling in the world. It made me feel cleansed and happiness. I have never felt so alive. I actually would enjoy doing it regularly. But being baptized wouldn't help you any if you do not believe and accept Jesus.

I was wondering if anyone new any great sites that tell you what sort of books you would like to read? I mean the sort of thing were you answer some personality questions and then a list of books your personality would like comes up.
I'm interested in love stories, fairly modern. I'm a girl, and i like reading teen stuff (15, 16 that sort of thing).
I've read pratically everythin by Meg Cabot, and loved it. I've also read and ABSOLUTELY LOVED the Twilight series.

There are a series of christian books that are great romance. They are Love Inspired books. They aren't written by any particular author, a bunch, it varies. They are amazing and great. They are good for teens and young adults. I love to read. Another series of books are Pendragon. I don't know if you have heard of them, google them. They are great. They aren't particularly a love story, but love is included!

I believe in all of the above, but not as humans perceive them. Unicorns and mermaids are in Utopia. No, listen, I only appear crazy. No person has that great of an imagination. The creatures have had to be seen. Werewolves and vampires are brought about by witchcraft and evil. And dragons were around before all of the fairytales and lived in corruption with the elves and dwarves. They have been long been extint.

I came across this book about acceptance, and how its at the center of everything. Basically it said that true happiness can be reached if one accepts his/her own reality as it is. Then I came across this quote that said "Grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference" which also preaches acceptance I guess. So I just wanted to know opinions here. Is acceptance the true secret to happiness or what other theories of reaching happiness have you come up with? I'm feeling a bit philosophical I guess...

In my opinion, the only acceptance that is the center of everything has already been given. Jesus died for your sins, therefore, allowing you to pray to God for acceptance and forgivness. If you are truly wanting acceptance to make you happy, pray to God. Maybe find a nice church to settle down in.

i met this guy named chris at a kick-back. and he thought i was 18.. so like he started talking to me and stuff.. ad we ended up kissing.. but not having sex because im a virgin and i wasn't going to give it up to him. so when he found out i was 16 he was like tripping lol. cause he's a marine and hes going to be a cop in 2 years and what happened is illegal you know. i've been seeing him every saturday for 3 saturdays straight. cause we hang around with the same people.. the second time we hung out he talked to me but like it was whatever.. his friend told me that he liked me but that i was young.. i see older guys dating underage girls all the time.. but yeah and i saw him this past saturday cause we had a bonfire at the beach and it was cold so he hugged me and when we were saying bye he slightly touched my butt.. he didnt really grab it or anything though. but we do text a lot.. but i really want to be his girl-friend.. how do i pull that off? I see that you are expecting an answer about how to make him yours, right? Well...I don't have one of those. I have experience. I can tell you head on that dating guys that much older than you at sixteen is a bad idea. Answer me this: Is he sweet? Is he a loyal friend? Does he make you feel like you can have a more mature relationship?
He is probably freaking out over the incident because he was in it for a less serious reason than you and realized that you are underage.
When I was sixteen I dated a twenty-one year old. Cute, funny, incredibly sweet. I made the first move with him and he ended up with me. Turned out that he was controling and rude. I really cared about him and was devastated when I learned that he had cheated on me throughout our six months of dating.
I am telling you to forget him because he isn't worth a heartbreak. If you are really meant to be with him God will make it happen: in the future. But for now, I know you hate to here it, concentrate on your studies. Boys will always be there. School won't.

I feel for you, really. I am kind of chubby and short myself, shorter and chubbier than you. Looks aren't everything. If they were then there would be no fat people in this country. You say that you haven't had a boyfriend in three years? Well, who needs one? You are only sixteen. You have your entire life ahead of you. Is having a boyfriend really what you want? Or is that just something missing in your life to complain about.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs. I'm not good at baseball so I never hit the ball. Yeah, things can mess up and make us sad. I have been going through a tough time myself lately and for the past year have been feeling depressed. But I found happiness in hanging out with friends and talking to Jesus. There is no problem too great for God.
I don't mean to lag on but it is important for you to understand that being pretty or skinny or having a boyfriend doesn't make you perfect. When I was sixteen I was taken advantage of. I now wish that I would have waited to date. You are living your own life. My answer to your question is through prayer and friendship.
