Can you get STDs if you do it in water (like a pool) ?

Question Posted Saturday July 3 2010, 3:21 am

There is this really hot girl I've been talking to. She told me she's slept with a lot of people. I mean, a lot, like 40 something guys. She's so hot though and, to be frank, she's easy.

I want to have sex. She told me that she'd do it with me next week if I come over to her place while her parents are gone. She has a big pool there and she said she always does it in the pool so that she's clean and STD free. What she was saying was that the chemicals in the pool kill any STDs that somebody might be carrying.

Sounds great but I want to double check this. I'd hate to have to go to the doctor after banging her. Is she telling the truth?

Make sure you wear a condom because you never know what she is carring. Also, having sex under water can be more harmful expectally if the water containes, chlorine, salt, or bacteria. By thrusting in and out, you can cause irritation and or an infection from the pressure. Plus the has lost the spermicide and or lube, from the rubbing in water. So if I were you I would wear a condom if you really want to have sexy with this woman, and start the foreplay in the water, and save the sex for dry land :)

Pool chemicals do not kill STDs. You can still catch something if you have sex with this girl in the pool. Have her get tested beforehand regardless. She may already have an STD.

you know the HIV sometimes doesnt show up for three months in a test.
40 guys is ALOT for a lifetime.
yes worry. unless you go to the dr with her and her it from him stay away. so many things a person can have and you dont get symptoms for a while.
good luck. and if u do it wear a rubber.. but remember you can still get something from her even if you do

You Cannot Catch an STD in the Water:
This is not true. Sexually transmitted infections and HIV can still be spread while having sex in the water, even in hot tubs. This means that it is important to use birth control during water sex that can provide STD protection. Although hormonal methods may protect against pregnancy, they do not provide any defense against STDs. Additionally, having sex in the water could also increase the likelihood of a woman getting a urinary tract infection and/or a yeast infection.

Condoms Are an Effective Birth Control Method for Water Sex:
Although condoms are effective at preventing pregnancy and STDs, they may be somewhat risky to use during underwater sex. They can possibly rupture from decreased lubrication and possibly deteriorate from heat, chlorine, or oil-based substances in the water (i.e., tanning lotion, sun screen, bubble bath, etc). Plus, there is the added threat that the condom can slip off if water gets into it, and a man may be unaware of this happening.

This is all the information I have to offer, don't be mad at her just be careful and this is what I read just make sure she has better reasearch talk to her about it first, no offense she sounds like a whore.....how old is she?

I completely agree with Witty, She is an idiot.

Nothing is STD free, She has sex with numerous people...and you want to have sex with this person?!

Hell, She might be attractive but for gods sake my grandmother has more sense then that. Is she telling the truth?.. NO

Also, Just because you find someone attractive is a very poor reason for having sex with them. Use your head

She is an idiot, and if you stick your dick in there you'll likely end up with an STD.

It's not true, and no matter what she says, you really shouldn't sleep with her now. She's got some very mucked up ideas about sexual health and safety. There is such a thing as a smart, easy, responsible slut. She's not one of those. She's a bit of a dummy.

You can get STDs while in the pool. You can also get infections caused by the chemicals in the pool. You can get pregnant having sex in the pool. You can weaken a condoms effectiveness by having sex in a pool.

Having sex in a pool is never a really great idea. Having sex in a pool with a partner who doesn't have accurate information about sexual health would be moronic.

haha thats a lie. its actually worse for you to do it in a pool cause it causes infections. she probably just has STD's and won't tell you. 4o something guys? you honestly think you can't do any better? is banging a hot girl one time really worth having an std for the rest of your life?

She's lying. If she's got STDs, which i'd be very suprised if she didn't, then no amount of pool chemicals is going to protect you.

Bullshit!
Once again, due to my lack of vocabulary: Bullshit!

It does NOT prevent STIs, no, absolutely not. Water doesn't even guarantee to kill sperms, which means if you ejaculate insider of her, she still can become pregnant. In fact, rather than helping, it might cause MORE troubles, such as irritation or infection (because there would be some type of chemical or bacteria in the water).

She's not telling the truth. That's a lie!

By the way, good luck! :-)
