My birthday's October 15th, and I was thinking about having my sweet sixteen birthday party on Halloween (it lands on a Friday). I was thinking about doing this because I was going to have it at my house, because I don't really have a lot of money to spend on the party...However, there's really nothing to do at my house, so if I had it on Halloween, my friends and I could go trick-or-treating together. Then, they could sleep over...

Is this too childish? Is it a good idea?

I know I have a while, but...I just wanted to think about this lol.
Thank you. :)

Nothing is "too childish", especially trick-or-treating. My cousin trick-or-treated until she was at least 23. Then again, she was short and could pass as a teenager! =O

Having a sleep over is always a good idea ;]

If you think it's a stupid idea, ask your friends who you'll invite and see what they would want to do. I'm sure they'll come up with an idea ;]

And it's never too early to start planning =]

I eat energy bars a lot but I'm trying to cut back to where I don't eat them unless I absolutely have to because I'm too busy to make a meal. How should I go about doing this?

Make yourself time for full meals. That way you'll be eating more food, and then you won't be hungry for energy bars.

Also, if you have a supply in your house, give them to a friend or something. If you have access to them, you'll keep wanting them.

Don't buy anymore if you really want to quit.

So there is this kid that i have like ALL through out middle school and like all of my friends are really good friends with him so i hang out with him a lot so me and him have become really close friends. So should i just stay friends with him or continue liking him the way i do?

It certainly isn't unhealthy or anything to like someone, so I would say you should keep liking him. But it gets to the point where you wonder if you should date.

Here's how to tell if he likes you:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=506340

From there:
I'm going to give you a list of what guys tend to do when they like girls:

1. They don't call you "sexy". They call you "beautiful", "gorgeous", "amazing", etc.

2. They make an effort to hug you. They might high-5 instead, but it really depends on the guy in question.

3. They DO find any reason to touch you in some way. Mostly it ISN'T in a sexual way. Its more of just an excuse to remember what you feel like, I guess. Its hard to explain...

4. He is always smiling around you. If you're feeling bad and he's around- he'll be smiling because he knows that he's there to help you- and that's like brownie points for a guy if they can help a girl out. That, like the above, is hard to explain.

5. He'll tell you things about himself that he normally wouldn't tell everyone. He opens up to you. Guys don't get a chance to do that when pressured to "be manly".

6. If you have a feeling that a guy likes you- you're probably right. Guys aren't the best at hiding it- and girls are even better at figuring these type of things out.

If you like this guy- and he does all or most of those things- my best bet is that he does like you. That means one and only one thing: Ask him to make sure, and then try the relationship out. Who knows- it could be great!

Here's a question my friend answered that can help you get on your way to asking him out, if that's what you want:

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=543173

From there:
Well, there are 2 major options you can go about to solve this problem:

1. Be blunt about it.
2. Be shy about it.

Or, you can go the other route and be shy about it, possibly doing nothing to show him you're interested in him. Sometimes, people who use this method drop subtle hints such as smiling [which is common in girls and doesn't always show you're into a guy] or having a friend ask if he's into you [this only shows that you're too shy to do it yourself]. these are two totally different topics but i dont feel like asking two different questions, sorry..

when you are raped does that mean you arent a virgin?
and
why does it feel so much better when i guy fingers you then when you do it yourself?

When you are raped, you are no longer a virgin.

And I would assume it's because the guy has a different angle than you have, and that must be more pleasurable? I'm not a girl, so I wouldn't know.

ok so i dont know if im the only person who gets this but sometimes i could be doing something and some little thing comes up my throat. One day i was curious on what was it so i smelled and it really smelled bad. I dont know what this is, if anybody knows how can i prevent this?

It could be a loogie:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=loogie

If that's not what it was- I might go to your doctor and ask about it. It's probably not serious, but it never hurts to get it checked out.

And loogies are normal. As far as I know, there really isn't a way to prevent them.

So my boyfriends 18th birthday is coming up soon and I'm not to sure on what to get him this year. We've been together almost two years and I'm stuck on what to get him this time. He told me something unique and special.
he's into:
*TV series
*things from his childhood (power rangers, ninja turtles)
*working out
*country music
*being a guy basically

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=518322

From my friends answer:

For birthdays, you can take a look throughout all of these. They're all good gifts for any meaningful day, really:

*Watch
*Favorite bands CD or favorite DVD
*Cologne
*Decorate a picture frame, with a picture of the two of you
*Make a mixed cd for your guy
*If he's into sports, get him some memorabilia of some sort.
*Anything that he's been saying that he wants for a long time [so something from the TV show he watches or something power rangers/ninja turtles].

Another thing to do is to take him on a picnic or make a scrapbook of the two of you ;]

Okayyy people. I HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM I woke up today with like 5 or 6 zits on my face. It's horrible. My face hardly ever does this but I'm going on this trip thingy with my friends in TWO DAYS. I dunno how to get rid of these zits that fast do you?

THANKS A BUNDLE,
-meg

oh p.s. PLEASE don't tell me "it's what's on the inside that counts". THaNks

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=507367

From there:

Hey. I know this sounds weird, odd, strange, etc., but what I'm about to say to you ACTUALLY works:

Get some lemon juice. You got the lemon juice? Alright- now take the lemon juice- and take a Q-tip and dab some lemon juice onto your zit with the lemon juice. Just a thin layer- not the whole bottle, silly! =D

Alright- so doing this at night is the best thing to do- it will really reduce the size and shape of the zit- and you won't know it was there in a few days.

Make sure not to touch it with your fingers after you put on the lemon juice- the oils from your fingers will stop the effect.

Relax- everyone gets zits- so you're only normal =D.

And here's a forum discussion from one of my friends on here that talks a lot about acne:

http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmetopic.php?t=368&userboard_id=35415

From there:

Acne pretty much sucks ass and we all hate them.
I'll pretty much share what I know and my experiences.

So, I used to have really bad acne for like 2 freaking years. It sucked and I hated it. But now I'm better and here are my views on stuff:

Dermatologists are hard to get an appointment with and very pricey. They don't do much except look at you once, then they have their assistants take care of you after the dermatologist her/himself prescribes you acne medicine. It's usually Differin [sp?] and Benzaclin [sp?].

OTC Medicine:
Not all medication work effectively on all people. I've learn that it doesn't work for me or for anyone with sensitive skin. It may work for some people but as soon as they stop the use, acne comes back. Whether it's a cream, gel, or oral medication, they all suck! They dry out your skin, irritate it, increase sunburns/tans, and enlarge your pores. Not your dream skin, huh? And ironically, they sometimes make it worse. And you know what the 'best' part is? They're freakishly expensive! And once you stop the medication, acne comes back and parties like there's not tomorrow. Oral medication also makes your insides bad =/

Acne Products:
Acne face wash, gel, cream, whatever. Proactive seems to be a big one, too. Anywhos, as I've mentioned above, some work for some people while it makes everything worse for other people. It all depends. But most of the time, all those products dry your skin out, irritate it, and/or makes your acne worse. And it enlarges your pores too. Again, not very dreamy. And if they do work, as soon as you stop using them, they come back. Same line second verse.

So what the hell are you suppose to do?
Go the natural, cheap way.

Washing your face:
Wash your face gently only twice a day. Once is okay, I guess. But washing your face when you get up and before you go to bed is a good idea. More than twice a day could irritate your skin. Also, do not scrub your face, wash it gently as if you were washing a baby. Use face friendly products, too. I recommend a brand called Cetaphile. It's gentle on your skin and softens it. PAT your face dry with a clean towel.

Towels and pillow cases:
Try and change them as much as you can. Every day would be PERFECT but hard to do sometimes.

Squeezing:
Not only does that sound disgusting, it is. And it leaves nasty scars. Don't touch your face at all unless you have a slight itch. Don't rest your chin/cheeks in your hands or your arm. Just leave it alone as if it was a $10,000,000 mask that if you touch, you'll get arrested for. Oh, and try to keep your hair out of your face.

Sleeping:
Sleeping plays a big, huge role. Your body starts to renew its skin starting around 10PM and ending around 2AM. So be sure to be sleeping somewhere in between or the entire time. Sleeping early helps, and getting adequate sleep improves your skin and its tone.

Eating:
Milk makes acne worse. It's scientifically proven. Junk foods, sweet, sugars. ALL BAD FOR YOU PERIOD. Avoid/limit them along with sodas even if they're diet. Sports drink contain loads of sugar. Juices, too. Instead, eat healthy foods like veggies and fruits! I've noticed that my skin improve immensely when I turned vegetarian. So maybe give a shot to eating lots of veggies and fruits and other healthy stuff and cut down on meat? Also try and drink green tea [tea bag with no added sugar] or green tea with aloe [again, tea bag with no added sugar].

Masks:
Home made masks are probably the best. Here are few that work and softens your skin:

1. Red ginseng syrupy liquid thing mixed with warm water and a bit of all purpose flour. Make a mask thing with that.

2. Green tea [tea bag] cooled down to room temperature. Splash it on your face for 5min or so. I know it sounds weird but it helps. Or mix it with a little bit of all purpose flour and make a mask.

3. Mix warm milk, honey, and all purpose flour. Make a mask with that.

Only do the mask right after you washed your face. Make sure you don't put on any lotion and what not. Do not leave it on for more than 10-15min because bacteria will become attracted to the mask. Do not laugh, squint, whatever. Just keep your face neutral or you'll get wrinklies. Do not peel the mask off. Slowly wash it off GENTLY with LUKEWARM water. Keyword: GENTLY.

Lotions and make ups and what not:
Lotions/Sunblocks have products that won't clog pores, are fragrance and oil free. I suggest you buy from either Neutrogena or...some other renown company. I use Neutrogena's Oil Free Moisturizing Face Lotion and Neutrogena's Oil Free 55 SPF Sunblock. And Aveeno's 50 SPF Sunblcok [oil free] sometimes.

Make up should be limited to only eye and lip make up. No foundation, no concealer, not blush, no powder. Get my drift? Good. If you MUST wear make up, limit it down to special occasions [School does NOT count] and take it off as soon as you can. Whatever you do, do NOT go to bed with make up on!

From my friend's answer:
Popularity

Most people think that becoming popular is difficult, and staying on top of your game, when you do, is even worse. While that can be true in rare situations, it’s actually quite simple to become popular - you just need the right tools, and know how to play it cool. I’m here to help you with all you need to know, so moving on...

Checklist in Becoming Popular
1) Be friendly to everybody - not just a certain clique/crowed.

2) You need to be outgoing, doesn’t mean you still can’t be a little shy or even a lot really, what I mean by “outgoing” is to be able to walk up to people and start a conversation without feeling awkward.

3) Talk to three different people everyday, until you’ve met everyone in school/work/etc.

4) Try to find interesting things you have in common with people, and then introduce that fact in a conversation. You wouldn’t believe how much you can talk about one thing, when you have two people who both like it.

5) Get involved. Whether you’re at school, work or wherever you are - there’s always that chance to move up the totem pole, and you want to be at the top. So try your absolute best in everything you do, it will show people how determined and successful you are. People will want to be your friend because those are good qualities.

6) This is sometimes the hardest step for people, but one of the most important if not THE most important - open up to people. You have to show them who you really are, if not, they probably won’t want to be you friend. Don’t try to act like someone else because others can see that, and they only want you to be yourself. Otherwise, you’re not really “friend” material.

Here are some wonderful links I’ve looked up, that should give you a sense of what being popular really is and the steps involved in it.

Well when my boyfriend asked me out, he also told me that he liked my cousin, too. Of course I was sad, but also happy that he asked me out!! =) But now I am starting to think that he likes her more than me. This makes me want to burst out crying =*(. What can I do??

Talk to your boyfriend about it, but not in a whiny way. Approach him maturely, and ask him if he still likes your cousin. If he says no, and he doesn't have a record of lying, I would believe him. Plus, if he really liked her more than you, he'd probably be dating her.

Here are some signs that a guy likes a girl, so if he's doing any of them, he might still like her:

That, like the above, is hard to explain.

okay so my one of my best friends is really emo. and my other friends are really preppy and they hate her. they always tell me not to be her friend, but i can't just stop being her friend just because she's emo. so what should i do?? Help!!

Tell your other friends to shove it. Okay, maybe don't be that harsh, but tell them that it is up to you to chose your friends, and if you want to be friends with her, you can and WILL be. They cannot tell you who to be friends with, period.

If they say you can't be their friend anymore, well then that just goes to show you that they are terrible friends anyway ;]

i really like field hockey but don't know how to play!! can you help me?

only search advicenators.com

http://www.ehow.com/how_17382_play-field-hockey.html

From there:
Things You’ll Need:

* Balls
* Sticks

Step1
Set up teams of 11 players each, which will be split into offensive and defensive positions. Game play usually consists of two 30-minute halves.
Step2
Remember that the point of the game is to put the ball in the opponent's goal. Field hockey is a passing game, where the ball is moved via passing, dribbling and hitting.
Step3
Set up the field with a goal on either end. There should be a striking circle in front of each goal, like a penalty box. Goals are scored when the ball goes into the goal after touching the stick of a player in the striking circle.
Step4
Mark a midfield circle at the half line. This is where the ball is put into play after each goal and at the beginning of each half. The game is started by passing the ball back to a teammate.
Step5
Get to know the different offensive positions. The forwards are the offensive front line and do the majority of the attacking. The midfielders offer attack support for the offense.
Step6
Learn the defensive positions. The midfielders, in addition to supporting the offense, also serve as the first line of defense. The fullbacks are the primary defenders. The goalkeeper is in charge of keeping the ball out of the goal.
Step7
Familiarize yourself with the different penalties that you can face for unsafe stick handling (see "eHow to Avoid Penalties in Field Hockey"). The referee can award free hits for intentional or unintentional fouls, so saying you didn't mean to won't save you from losing possession of the ball.

http://www.wikihow.com/Play-Field-Hockey

From there:
1. Get equipment, at least a stick and a ball. There are plenty of brands, shop around and find a stick that's of a comfortable weight and height for you, not just one that's pretty. Shin and/or ankle guards are a good idea, too. see stuff you need at bottom for list.
2. Get a grip. With your left hand, grip your stick at the top with knuckles lined up and thumb pointing down towards the hooked bit of the stick, roughly aligned with the bit that's pointing up. Hook thumb around handle if desired (people have been known to break 'em on collision). Your right hand should grip your stick at a point lower on the stick that is comfortable to you. You should be able to stand with the hooked tip grazing the ground, the flat end facing out.
3. Remember that your left hand does the guiding of the stick, your right hand is there for support.
4. Take a stance. Left foot pointing front, right foot back support. Bend your knees slightly, aim for the ball, which should be in line with your left foot or slightly before it, but not ahead. It is important to remember to not bend your back so much as keep your KNEES BENT. Otherwise, you will be very sore the next day!
5. Trap the ball. Many people put their sticks down, parallel to the ground (to maximise obstructive surface area), but with practice you'll be able to just get behind the ball. To stop the ball, as it's coming towards you, move backwards, to slow the ball before stopping it. Just keeping the stick still often means the ball will roll over the stick, and hitting the ball will often cause it to go haywire in a completely different direction.
6. Perfect the Indian dribble or reverse stick. When the ball is on your left, twist the stick with your left hand so that the flat side is again facing out correctly. Let go of your right hand as you twist, grip again once stick is in position. Make sure you never touch the ball with the rounded side of the stick; always use the flat side. Anything else and you'll be a pretzel.
7. Hit it! Move your right hand closer to your left hand (i.e. up) (but note: this isn't golf), the ball should be in line with your forward foot. There are several different types of shots:

* Slap-shots: choke down your right and pretend you're playing cricket. Be careful though, sometimes the ball can go a different direction to the way you're intending it too if you're not experienced with hitting. Only hit the ball in a desperate circumstance, or when you're shooting for a goal.
* Pushes: grip should be between that for a hit and a slap-shot; ball should be right in front of the flat side of your stick, which should be somewhere around your back foot. Transfer weight from back foot to front foot, lean into it and push. A push is often used for passing, as it is swift and easy.
* Hook variation: place stick almost parallel to ground, hooked portion curving lovingly around the ball. Ball and hook end of stick should be behind back foot. Transfer weight from back foot to right foot, pull hard then push in one smooth motion.
* Flicks: hands in slap-shot grip, dig edge of stick beneath ball, much as you would toe scoop a soccer ball, lift and push, transferring weight from back foot to front foot.
8. Get comfortable with your gear. Bounce the ball along the flat length of your stick. Dribble it down corridors. Walk it. Figure-eight it. Everything helps. The more you practice, the better you get!! Remember that.

You don't need to get a job at a big chain. In fact, most of them don't hire until you're at least 16.

You can do simple jobs like babysitting for friends and family. [You can charge more for more kids the more troublesome they are]
Walk dogs of friends. [The more dogs at once the more money you get! ;)]
Mow lawns in the summer.
Rack leaves in the fall.
Shovel snow in the winter.
All jobs people hate. =]
Get homemade fliers and put them around the neighborhood.
For old people give them the fliers. They are old and can't go far =].

We can't tell you how to do any of this stuff, we can only provide links that may help you, at least that is my interpretation of the rule.

That should help.

WWWhen one shave down there is it normal for the hair to grow back coarse..if not what can i do to make it smoother and how can i prevent bumps

From what I've read on here, it can grow back coarse.

Try looking at these, they might help you better than I can:

Some suggest nair, some don't. It just depends.

What I do know is that you should have a new razor [if it's disposable] every time, that way the blades are sharp. And use a lot of shaving cream.

soooo.....

the other day i had serious gas pain, like every four or five minutes i felt like somebody was twisting a knife in my lower abdominal region. so i tried my best to "work it out" but to no avail... i drank coffee, smoked a bunch of cigarettes, but i guess the 28 oz strip steak the evening before had kinda put a kink in my colon.

but i digress; this is where it gets interesting, and it's no thing but i have never heard of this thing happening before....

the pain started working its way up.

for like an hour, the same sharp pain would come and go, all in circles around the inside of my belly. then there was a really sharp pain right at the pit of my stomach.

a minute later i burped. and it tasted and smelled really bad!

did i fart out of my mouth?

None of us can really diagnose you. I know you said you're too embarrassed to go see a doctor, but really they've seen probably weirder things, so something like this won't really make them laugh at you, I promise. You should go to a doctor and see what they have to say. They will know better than any of us.
