My names Casey. I'm a crazy cat lady who's obsessed about books and doesn't wear matching socks. I enjoy all kinds of tea and sometimes I believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
advice
If im 14 and i dont ever eat healthy or workout what are the risks?
- type 2 diabetes
- obesity
- heart failures
- clogged otteries from too much fat
- high blood pressure
- lower metabolism
- less enegery
- and some more.
its easier to start developing the healthy habit of eating and working out now than it will be in the future.
Okay, everyone asks these but here goes.
I'm around 5'6, Im not positive of my height.
I weigh around 140 - 150
I want to weigh about 120 or 130
somewhere around there.
Any suggestions.
How much should I be running?
And what should I be eating?
okay, i'm only an inch shorter than you. but what i'm doing to loose weight is this:
breakfast- Blueberrie-Strawberries Smoothie
(1/2 cup of blueberries, 1/2 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, Instant Breakfast Vanilla Mix)
lunch- Same thing.
dinner- Slim fast Bar
snacks- carrots, apples, low-fat pretzals.
for working out- 40 minutes of jogging, running, or fast walking.
60 crunches. "core" excersises such as:
- "bicycle": lay on your back, put your hands behind your head like your going to do crunches, slightly bring your right knee to your left elbow, then your left knee to your right elbow. Do that 20 times with a set of 3.
- "super-girl": lay on your stomach. and strech your arms out. lift up your legs as well and try to balance yourself as if you're flying.
- 60 jumping jacks.
i don't know if i explained the core excersises very well, but thats what i've been doing.
i've lost 5lbs already on this, and i've been doing it for a week.

ok, so i got a not-so-snazzy haircut that is kind of short and i don't like it at all. i want to grow it out again desperately, so i was doing some research and it said that high-protein foods will make it grow faster by a little bit. what are some healthy, high-protein foods besides protein bars?
well, if you have a blender, you can make a berrie shake.
1/2 cup of strawberries
1/2 cup of blueberries
1 cup of non-fat yogurt
a serving of whey protein.
whey protein has around 30-40 grams of protein in it.
so yeah. good sourse. haha.
other than that there's
- Special K, Protein Plus
- Fruits and Veggies in general
- Dairy Products // Soy Products
I want to know if I have problems. Well I will like go a week without eating. But then on like Sunday I will sit and eat alot. I've lost like 7 pounds in like 2 weeks. Do I need to start eating reguarly? Do I need to start eating more? Everyone in my family thinks im pregnant. So should I eat alot more just incase?
well, to answer your question- you should be eating 3 meals per day with or without being pregnant. \\ like the person below me said, if you're worried of being pregnant, take a test anyway.

look i relize i sound like a poser dont get me wrong but i was wondering is anyone knew any stores besides hottopic that sells cheap emo/punk cloths....

the store doesn't have to be labled "emo" for it to sell good clothes.
The problem is, is that I'm too skinny and it's hard looking for jeans/shoes that fit! I'm 13/f and I usually wear size 12 slim in jeans and it's too big in the thigh area. I also wear a size 3-4 in shoes and it's really hard to find a decent pair of shoes that I really like in kid sizes :| Also, I can probably wear a size 10 reg/slim in jeans but it'll be too short. I'm sure that I'm not anorexic but I'm pretty boney and I hate it, so any tips on gaining fat?
There's a healthy way to gain weight. and that doesn't include junkfood, binging, etc. although, you don't have to cut junkfood out of your diet. just eat something like..
Breakfast- Vanilla Yogurt (low-fat or regular) with chopped bannana. Oatmeal. OJ. Multivitamin.
Snack- Apple, Crystal Light Mix (the wild strawberry energy mix is wicked good, and actually works on the energy part.
Lunch- Turkey Wrap with Whole Grain. (Turkey, American or Provolon Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles). Pudding. Orange.
Snack- Anything You want.
Dinner- Chicken, Rice, Cheese, Brocoli, Milk.
Snack- Same as last snack.
you might want to run for like 20 minutes.
I have realized that I need to become more active, which will result in a whole liefstyle change.
I want to start riding my bike, and become more lean and fit. If I ride my bike for about 30-45 minutes, say a few times a week, at a pretty fast pace- will I burn a lot of calories?
What places on my body does riding my bike target, because I want to lose the fat on my stomach, and thighs. So, will biking help me with my goal, and will it help me get a flat stomach?
I am also eating very well, and incorporating crunches, and sit ups in my routine, as well as squats.
you burn 21 calories per mile on your bike. but it depends on what gear you have and such.
you will get in pretty good shape after doing that for awhile. it will help your thighs. crunches, sit ups, and squats pretty much cover the fat on your stomach.
if anything, you'll notice that you're loosing weight more in your stomach when you start excersising. then you'll loose it other places.
Eat around 1500 calories per day.

when the sailor scouts transform.. um they change clothes so what do all the other people around them see when they transform? some giant light or like they are spinning around naked till they wear their outfits? O_O i've always wondered about that

I'm always hungry before I go to bed. I eat my meals and snacks throughout the day, but I always get hungry around 9 pm. I can control my hunger, but what would be the best thing to do? Would it be unhealthy or unsafe to not eat before you sleep? Or should I eat crackers or something? I'm on a diet also. Thanks!
Snack on Low-Fat Popcorn, Pretzals, Fruit, Veggies, Pria Bars.

is 135 pounds for a 5'3" female at age 15 over weight? what would you think of them?
it all depends.
BMI number isn't always correct because people have different body fat than you. Go to a doctor and ask them.
to me, it sounds like they would be overweight. Generally Speaking, someone 5'3 should be 115lbs.
15/f about 5'2 95-97lbs
Is that normal? I have been rail thin/stick skinny my whole life and a lot of people think I have an eating disorder. Infact one time I didnt have lunch and I made a comment about it and how I was hungry and she was like "Oh, thats how you do it".
Sometimes I look in the mirror and I feel wide. I started eating very healthy except on the weekends Im more lenient(sp).
if you eat than there's really nothing wrong with you. you probably have a fast matabolism so you don't gain so much weight when you do eat.
don't listen to all the girls who call you anerexic or that you have an eating disorder. people get jealous easily and take it out on you guys.
i wouldn't worry so much about your weight if i were you.

hey im mason im 16/m and all my friends have been out of state for like 5 weeks and its just been hard for me ive been falling on old habits i know i should not but i just do and i want to stop but it feels like there is nothing to do my friends are gone and there is nothing else to do help?
if you don't want to fall out on old habits again because your friends are gone try:
- hanging out with old buddies from Elementry?
- Get a Job and make money.
- Try to talk to some Girls?
- Take long walks or get a membership at a gym.
- Sign up for something to Do. like oh idk. Wrestling, swimming, boxing, karoyte(sp?) [ i'm really just making this up as i go along. ]
the main idea is to get out and do something with your life. your friends will be back soon. Just don't let yourself get the best of you.

i'm not fat, i'm not skinny, but my hips are way disproportional to my body. they're so wide. if i lose weight, will they get skinnier? it doesn't make sense to me that they would since they're bone.
its muscle and/or bones.
you don't want to get them skinnier.
be happy with who you are and embrace what makes your body unique.
if i walk for two hours a day (leisurely pace) and cut out junk food from my diet, drink a lot of water.. how much weight will i lose in a week? any tips on how to lose the fat on my face? will walking help this?
i heard that if you eat an apple while walking it helps burn fat? i would try that.
walking will definitly help though. it helps everywehre so when you loose weight in everywhere else, you'll loose it in your face too.
water is good. try drinking 8 glasses a day. if you drink more than that its not that great.
cutting out junkfood will help too. it'll reduce the sodium you take in which will help you loose some water weight.
I asked a few weeks ago about losing 20 lbs in 2 months, and apparently it's too extreme. So I guess I'm lowering my goal to 15 lbs. (17f/145 lbs/163cm)
My diet so far includes:
breakfast - rye bread with jam / green tea (I have nothing else to drink)
lunch - rice with chicken breast or noodles in soup with lettuce
dinner - more rice with either eggs/chicken/fish/pork/beef etc. with various vegetables on the side
Snacks - baked pretzels, cheerios or seaweed
I exercise 3-4 days a week, 1 1/2 - 2 hr @ a gym, burning off anywhere in between 400 to 600 calories (depending on how much time I spend there). I do not do muscle training because it's always too crowded in the area.
I never feel sore or tired. And whenever I laze around at home I feel incredibly bored because time goes by so slowly, whereas at the gym time flies by. So would it be okay if I went for more than 4 days? And is my goal achievable, or should I drop it another 5 lbs.

i think you're not eating enough. rice is good and all but you're eating too much of it. you're gonna get sick of it really quickly. maybe try mixing it up a little.
like for breakfast try oatmeal, non-fat vanilla yogurt, and an apple.
lunch can be like a turke sandwhich, non-fat chocolate pudding, peaches.
dinner sounds good though.
for the snacks add more veggies or fruits.
excersising is good. you're supposed to burn 500 calories per day in order to loose a pound of fat (fat is more than just a pound of weight).

14/f 138 lbs. 5'9". about how many calories should i eat to lose about 5-10 lbs.?
depends on how many calories you're eating now.
normally to loose weight you need to drop 300 calories you normally consume.
so if you eat 2000 per day, eat 1700.
and you'll loose around a lb per week.
unless you excersise.
So right now I'm in a dance intensive that consists of 3 hours and 15 minutes (roughly more or less depending on the day) of actual dance classes. 5 days a week.
And I was eating 1200 cals a day but I've stopped that and i'm taking it up to 1400 now b/c i couldn't maintain 1200 and it was too low. Is 1400 too low?

I've hit a really bad plateau recently, i've been 154 (and fluctuating 2-6 pounds around there) for about 2 months. And I've kept my eating and exercise habits the same. I can't lose anymore weight it seems. So help.
Try changing your routine.
Mix up the working out part. your metabolism has most likely become so used to your schedule you're not loosing anymore weight, just burning off the calories you ate.
Try running a couple times a week. Maybe after a meal, it will help.
Continue what you are doing in the eating area though.

OK, I wanna know if sucking in my stomach is bad for you. Because if I do it to long it hurts my stomach. All I wanna do is look skinny. I'm scared to show my real stomach.
well it probably hurts your stomach because you're not letting a lot of oxygen go through it. its like holding your breath.
if you're scared to show your real stomach, start doing 50 crunches per day. and slowly work up to 60. eat healthy and you should see results soon.
what are the worst food & drink that make you gain weight?
Anything that doesn't provide good nutrients for your body.
Examples:
- Soda
- Potatoe Chips
- Icecream
- Cake
- Frosting
- Any type of Candy
Does walking for an hour a day work too?
I cannot keep up running for a while.
I fast walk with a couple of friends around the neighborhood.
Is that okay, or do I need something more intense?
walking for an hour is fine.
what i usually do is start off walking, then go into jogging, then sprint, and cool down. and start over.
its better than just doing straight foward running. i have heart problems so i can't run for a straight hour either. hah.
