Are there any excercise that will make you lose weight off of your thighs? and is there an excercise that will make your butt bigger. Im male and the other day in English class we had to do a scene from the Shakespeare play A Midsummers Night Dream, And one if the guys in my class wore underamour pants (really tight nylon pants) and he had a nice butt. Im not gay or anything but i would kill to have his body. Do you know what i mean? Thanks

You're 14. It's not that important. You may not like what I am going to tell you but you aren't asking me this question for the right reasons. I can't give you miracle answers because it's just impossible. When the time is right and you are truly asking this for the right reasons and not because "its important" then I can help you. Truth sucks...but that's what it is.

Pregnant women usually need around 70-75 grams of protein daily. I really suggest that you try and get your nutritional needs from whole foods before you get it from supplements. 70 grams of protein from meals in a day is very easy to manage. You should ask your doctor about what nutritional schedule would work best for you but you always want to get as much nutrients from good wholesome foods as you can. It shouldn't hurt because it's just a food supplement but take the safe step and ask your doc.
Alright im gonna be excercising to lose some weight but a thought occurred to me. i noticed since well im fat (just avergae) that means certain body parts are like big like my thighs for example. well i have a lot of hair all over my body. when i get skinny will the hair on my thighs/upper body start to like fall off or will the hairs move closer to each other and will i start to have thick hair? because since my body structure is gonna change i wonder if my thighs/upper body are either gonna look hairier or less hairier. i would hope it would look less hairier cause i look like a gorrilla. lol

You don't do the stuff you see in the movies so if you think you're going to be James Bond and get into shootouts and have remote detonator cufflinks and all of that then think again. The CIA usually takes people from the candidate pool who are fluent in a second language and like the FBI- they want people with a degree in accounting. You don't just show up and say "Hey I want to be a secret agent, when do I go and save Natasha and get my gun?." It's a highly competitive process to meet the requirements, pass the tests and be selected in a very distinguished group. Go to the CIA's website for all of that info.

I know you're the fitness Guru and I should have asked you this first but I need your expertise!
I'm doing a 5km run in two months and I have NO idea really how to prepare. I haven't done regular exercise in four and a half years, at least, since I left school and walking up three flights of stairs makes me breathless.
Worst comes to worst, you can walk this thing but I want to run for at least some of it. I am about 150 pounds (or 10 stone to me) and 5'5. I'm 21 and need all the advice I can get about training, the diet you need while training and anything else that could be considered vital information. I can't stress this enough, I need to know everything you know about this!!
I'm so sorry, I know this is a huge task for you, but I really would appreciate your help.

5k is a pretty long run. You're going to have to do a whole lot of work if you want to do decent on this event and 2 months is not really a good window of time to prepare but you can still make great improvements.
Let's start out slow- something like a test jog for 1/4 mile. See what time it takes you to run 1/4 mile and if you are struggling for air or feel pretty good after it. If you can complete the 1/4 mile in about 3-5 minutes and feel pretty good at its completion then we're on a pretty good track.
Realistically- you aren't going to be able to train for 2 months given the condition you are telling me you are in and be expected to run a 5k marathon. You can't train like an Olympic runner- you have to train like a beginner and do what you can. Try for like 2k of nonstop running and walk the rest or if you feel good then continue for as long as you can. Combining short distance sprinting with longer distance light jogging is great for conditioning and even better if you are able to run in sand. Nothing too complex and more is not always better.
Breathing is extremely important with running and try to get yourself used to taking big breaths in through the nose and out the mouth every about 25-30 feet.
Now as far as your diet, if I am not mistaken you are a vegetarian. Continue going the way you are going now with that just try to eat a little bit cleaner and try to bring in some more breads/pasta/potatoes for energy needs. The day before your marathon try and eat around 100-150g of carbs and before your actual run try and have something light like a dry piece of toast and some fruit for a quick energy source.
Nice and easy and just focus on the small goals and use it as a building block for another time in the future when you want to enter another event and you have plenty of time to condition and have built a good foundation.

I was just wondering, instead of running for 45 minutes, how long would i have to skip for in order for my cardio work out to equal 45 of running?
also - im pretty sure running is better cardio than biking (stationary bikes) and skipping. is that true? is skipping better cardio than biking?

The cardio activity isn't as important as the intensity it is achieved with. Just do it until you're nice and sweaty and your heart is pumping and if you feel you can do it longer then go for it.
if i bought a box of cheerios and like everyday brought a little baggy of them to school as a snack if i get hungry is that healthy? or would it be bad?
Healthy? No not really. But you could definitely do worse.
Bad? No.
Basically, I want to loose 20lbs by the end of school. Right now, I'm 16/f and weigh 151lbs and 5'6. I would like to weigh 130-135. So far I've been eating::
Breakfast- Oatmeal, Bannana, Diet Iced Tea.
Snack- Grannola bar
Lunch- Turkey Sandwhich, Yogurt, Carrots
Snack- Strawberry's, or some sort of fruit.
Dinner- A Lean Cousine Or Healthy Choice. (under 400 calories)
Every Day or so I also take a walk, or work out for forty minutes and then lift weights.
am i doing everything correctly? Do you think I can loose enough weight by the end of school? And what kind of foods should I add to my diet, if there are any?

That's to dispel some of what was previously said.
Oatmeal has a lot of carbs, but also a good amount of protein and fiber and it is a very slow digesting carb source. This is good.
Way too many carbs with not enough fat or protein is your main problem. If you're lifting weights you are going to need a lot of protein- especially if you're trying to lose weight. Chicken, eggs, fish are the best sources and don't forget that in order for protein to be assimilated into the system effectively- it needs enough fat to facilitate that. So when you have eggs don't just have egg whites (unless you have a cholesterol problem) there's a lot of healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and protein in the yolk for it to just be thrown away.
As far as 20 pounds by the end of school, I suggest you forget about doing it for that reason and do it for the right reason- to be healthier. Besides, what do you plan to do once this 20 lbs is lost? If you plan on keeping it off or progressing even further then it's going to have to become a lifestyle or else the vicious cycle will keep repeating and you'll find yourself always trying to lose weight.
i went to the gym for the first time today, and this one girl kept wiping down the machine she just used when she finished. am i supposed to do that, and is it sick if i don't? like will people look at me and think that that's disgusting that i don't wipe down the machine?
You should, it usually bothers a lot of people when you don't wipe something down especially if you're all sweaty.
I mean I personally don't care as long as it isn't drenched in sweat but this is where your towel comes in handy.
i weigh 121 and my mom weighs about 125. what i dont understand is that i wear a size 3/4 in pants and she wears a 7? how is this possible? she looks bigger then me when i look at her but then every time we weigh were only about 4 pounds different! i dont get this. someone please explain to me how this is possible

What's your opinion on Slimfast drinks? I know people who have lost weight using them, but I've also heard that they're not good for you.
I'm not planning on doing Slimfast without exercise, but will they help me in losing weight or is it just another case of great advertising, bad product?
I don't think anybody should ever go on Slimfast. They make you lose weight at a pretty fast pace- but you gain it all back eventually and that's something they don't tell you on the can. Great advertising, bad product. There's nothing better for a dieter than a lot of nutritious wholesome foods over these over hyped "Shortcuts".

I need help getting my waist smaller. just above the hips and upwards. I'd like to slim down a bit for summer, but I dont want a lot of musscle. Just toning. Do you have any tips? I go to the gym 5 days a week, and have access to a lot of machines and weights etc. So any key exercises you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I just want it slimmer!! And any diet tips you have or anything like that. Or everything like that.

That's all in the diet. There's a saying "Abs aren't built in the gym, they're built in the kitchen". Just continue to eat very clean and it'll happen.

Aside from cardio and eating well, can anyone give me some good exercises that work to strenghten my sides and minimize the fat there? It is the only place were I can't lose weight.

what is polyunsaturated fat and monounsaturated fat? and what are calories from fat? like if something had 78 calories and calories of fat was 48 or something, what would that mean and what does it do for your health?
1 gram of fat is 9 calories. Poly and monounsaturated fats have less hydrogen molecules attached to the actual lipid than saturated fat.
Calories from fat is pretty self explanatory- the amount of calories from the fat in the food. So since fat has 9 calories per gram- 48 calories from fat would be about 5.3 grams of fat.
