I know on average your weight fluctuates 2-5lbs a day from eating and drinking but are the inches on your waist supposed to go up as you eat too?

This morning my waist was 26 inches and I've only had lunch and now it's just shy of 27.

How much does your waist fluctuate on average?

I can't lose weight. No matter how hard I try. I want to lose maybe 10 lbs and even when I only eat 1000 calories, I don't lose any weight what-so-ever. The only way I lose weight is by eating 400 or less calories and that's just not enough food. I don't understand why some people can eat 2x what I eat and weigh less than me. Is there anything I can do to lose weight and not be eating less than 400 calories?! thank you.

your supposed to be around 110lbs. now, there could be a few reasons why your not loosing any weight.
1. you could just be SUPER crytical of yourself and actually be 90lbs thinking your huge. (If you are this person, i must slap you, i mean that as kind as possible.)
2. you can't loose weight by just cutting back calories. you need to EXCERSISE as well.

if he's 4 years older than you, i would be thinking the same thing. but your 14, there's a lot more to live for until you have sex.
he most likely is using you, if he left you.

id like to lose some before school starts .

try taking small steps to loose the weight.
such as:
- drinking only water and eating normally
- eating 5-7 fruits and veggies per day
- start doing crunches
- cut WAY back on calories. (1300-1500 per day)
- start running 3x per week.
- get a membership at the gym (my sister lost 10lbs just by going regularly. :]
- cut out all fatty foods in your diet.

Juices do have a lot of sugar, so I always buy the bottles that say 'No Sugar Added', but I read in a magazine that drinks are actually how a lot of people gain weight. For example, sodas, iced teas, lemonades, juices, etc. I like having apple juice & orange juice. I'm not sure what to do about the whole sugar thing. Would it be okay to have a cup or two of juice a day?? My throat is always dry between meals & I dislike having water all the time. Any suggestions?? Oh & I also drink milk regularly. Thanks!!

well, i think that they're saying juices make people gain weight because people drink them without even thinking about how much their drinking.
like soda, for example. most of them come in 20oz bottles, which is 2.5 servings. 120 calories per serving. so you pretty much drank 300 calories. you probably could've eaten something with that. even a sandwhich!
so basically, i think thats what they mean when they say that.
drinking juices is fine. one-three per day though! and with the milk, just make sure its Low-fat or skim. because whole isn't that great, its just fatty.

If I do about 100 crunches a day do you think i'll have a flatter stomach by September? And ill also be drinking alot of water. But do you think my stomach will be flatter by the time school starts if I 100 or more crunches a night ? Thanks for the help!!

you probably will have a toner stomach by the time school starts, but i don't know if it will have THAT much of an effect.
try eating healthier. 5-7 fruits and veggies per day. you don't necessarily HAVE to cut junk food out of your diet, because with all those fruits and veggies you''ll be fuller! drinking water is good. make sure its at least 8 glasses per day.
just doing crunches won't make that much of a differenece, so maybe try running once or twice a week for an hour or something.

Okay so my state (TN) has decided to mandate that every student K-12 get 90 minutes of excersize a week. Well they are using our homeroom time at my school to do just that. I think it is incredibly stupid because its not the school's responsibility to tell us what to do as far as excersizing goes. It is so damn retarded I can hardly stand it. I HATE coming to school now. OMG as if it wasnt bad enough LETS THROW IN SOME EXCERSIZE!!! Plus my homeroom teacher is strict with the rules, so if we dont do these excersizes every morning, she will write us up. I dont feel like I can talk to her because she wont understand. And I cant sit there and object while everyone else is doing it because that will draw negative attention to me. I get enough attention as it is for being fat. And thats not the reason I dont want to do the excersizes. It's just that 15 minutes is a long time for someone who is as heavy as I am and its embarassing to have my fat jiggle around for the whole freaking class to watch and laugh at. I would much prefer to excersize in PRIVACY where I dont have to worry about what I look like. High school is bad enough as it is. I think this is pure torture and I really want to refuse to do it. But I dont want to bring negative attention to myself. WHAT SHOULD I DO???? and what is your opinion on our new state law??

well, if your so concerned on doing the excersises because your "fat" then do it! thats the reason why they're having the state do that, so students can be fit! not many kids have the time or motivation to excersise.

im 14, female. 160lbs, 5'5ish. I hate my body...

i eat as healthily as i can and i do 60 crunches every day and i even do pilates but im not losing ANY weight. what is a good (cheap) diet plan and a good (free) workout that will help me get in shape?

a person on this site gave me this advice, and i think i'm gonna try using it.

what you do, is pretty much cut out as much junk and fatty foods as possible.
foods such as:
- whole milk
- icecream
- cookies
- french fries
- cheese
- cake
- friend foods in general
- doritos
- red meat
- etc.

instead of those foods try:
- airpopped popcorn
- pretzals
- fruits (wholes such as apples are good)
- WATER WATER WATER
- chicken (no bigger than the size of your hand)

try nonfat or lowfat versions of:
- 1% or skim milk
- yogurt
- pudding
- pretty much anything that says "non" or "low" fat.

avoid foods that contain:
- carboned liquids (such as soda)
- high froctus corn syrup (its in a lot of cereal, candy, chips, ect)
- hydrenated oils (sp?)

mix and match those foods together. Eat at least 1200-1400 calories per day.

that part was probably a tad bit confusing, but here comes even more fun.

you need to work out AT LEAST 5x per week for an hour.
excersises include:
- swimming
- walking
- running
- jogging
- biking
- skating
- anything that gets your heart pumping!

lift weights for around 20 minutes after. start of by lifting 5-8lbs though. you don't want to start off with heavy weights, because that will just build muscle, and that will just store under your fat and result in more weight gain. start off with a can of beans or something if you don't have weight lifting equipment. do a warm up every morning and night. along with 20-30 crunches.

i was told by doing this for two weeks, you will loose 10lbs in two weeks. and since your heavier, you might loose more than that.

well, congratulations. you are one step closer to a better you!

well, if you want soda and don't want all the extra calories, the diet one is technicaly better.
its only bad for you because of the artifical sweetners, which are bad for you teeth, and hold water if your trying to loose weight.

well, to loose manboobs, you really just need to loose weight every where else.

Hey. I'm 13, female. I was wondering, becuase I don't have any gym access, or really a place to run most times, how could i lose alot of weight, say 10, 15 pounds, by the first day of school?
Today is July 30. I need to lose this weight by September 4th.

How can I do it?!

jumpings good. Anything that gets your body motivated is good excersise. do that for about an hour or forty minutes, then do situps and crunches. if possible, try weight-lifting.
what you really need is a healthy diet. cut out sodas, chips, cheese, and any fatty-empty calories foods. replace with more veggies and fruits. eat about 5 per day. once that gets easier, eat 7. start a healthy habit and drink 8 glasses of water per day. It keeps you full, and its good for your skin.
start eating lean protein for dinner or something. protein such as chicken, turkey, beans, etc. ask your mom to try to add them to her dinners. when you DO eat dinner, fill half your plate with vegetables, 1/4 with protein, and 1/4 with whole grain.
try eating about 1400 calories per day. i've heard to loose weight, you just add a 0 at the end of your weight, and thats how many calories you need to eat. like if you weighed 130, you would need 1300 calories per day.

uhm. don't know if that was confusing or not. but oatmeal for breakfast is good. it has whole grains and is less than 200 calories.

lower your calorie intake by 300. like ductape said, your body is probably used to the calroies/excersise you take in. If you have 1500 calroies per day, drop it to 1200. see what i'm saying?
don't eat a lot of sugary stuff per day. Eat around 12 tablespoons per day. how do i know how many tablespoons of sugar i'm having? look at the nutritent facts, it should say Sugar: 24grams or something like that. Divide that number by 4 and there ya go. You had 6tablespoons.
work out for a bit longer. maybe 10 miutes than you normally did. it'll boost your metabolism.

drink plenty of water. 8-9 glasses per day.

okay so last night i called my ex bf out of the blue, and he was my first, and we broke up only like 2 weeks ago. we talked about everything, it was like a 4 hour convo. he said he misses me and still loves me and that the real reason he broke up with me is becuz he was scared wed get pregnant or something, but he really likes this other girl that he was talking to, but he said the reason he didnt ask her out is because he still missed me, and i was all, well why didnt you tell me, i still love you, and he said well you wouldnt believe me and i dont want to hurt you again blah blah blah, and i told him not having him but knowing he still loves me hurts just as bad, if not more. so he said i dont know, and i dont know if i should call him tonight and i asked him to chill tomorrow and he said we'll see. and he said he didnt know what to do about our whole situation. so yeah, what do i do? do i call him and try to persuade him, or do i just leave him alone and let it sink in for a few days and hope he calls me.


and please dont tell me hes not worth it blah blah blah. truth is, hes probably not, but i love him anyway and you shouldnt waste your time or mine writing about that.

I say, go for it.
Of all people, I know, If you have the chance, take it. You might not get it again. And You'll always be wondering "What If I did this.." and it'll be even harder to move on.
You told him how you feel, good. What you really need to do is go with your instinct. Try hanging out with him more and see what happens.
