If I do about 100 crunches a day do you think i'll have a flatter stomach by September? And ill also be drinking alot of water. But do you think my stomach will be flatter by the time school starts if I 100 or more crunches a night ? Thanks for the help!!
try doing:
20 crunches
20 side crunches (each side so thats 40)
20 leg lifts
20 super crunches (lay on your back, and bring your legs and arms all the way up forming a half circle until they meet.) [ god-smusgrove's advice column | Ask god-smusgrove A Question ]

try eating healthier. 5-7 fruits and veggies per day. you don't necessarily HAVE to cut junk food out of your diet, because with all those fruits and veggies you''ll be fuller! drinking water is good. make sure its at least 8 glasses per day.
just doing crunches won't make that much of a differenece, so maybe try running once or twice a week for an hour or something.
Alin75 answered Monday August 6 2007, 4:45 am: Whether or not you will have a flatter stomach will have awfully little to do with your crunches. A flatter stomach is obtained by lowering your bodyfat percentage. Thats diet and cardio primarily. Building some muscle is always good of course, but it shouldnt be your primary focus (remember you cant target fat loss).
Secondly as mentioned below, abs like any other muscle need time to recuperate. The fact that it hurts means the muscles are sore from exercising. Every time you exercise you damage the muscle, then the body repairs it and (hopefully) overcompensates for the damage making you stronger. Thats the idea anyway. If you dont rest enough, the body cant repair the damage. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]

ok, well with most of the articles, and information i have heard and delt withsay something along these lines: abs need to recover. Your muscles build during rest, so working them daily wont get you toned any faster.
Start off by doing two days a week, then within 2 weeks, aim for 5 sessions... And believe it or not, doing less is actually more beneficial. Do as many reps in a row that you can do, but only if your keeping correct form.
Something else that can help is doing crunches on uneven surfaces, like a workout ball..
A few more tips for a flat stomach is drink a lot of water.. like you said. Also stop stressing! stress actually causes your body to store excess fat in your belly. And savor your food. eating too much, and too fast, might cause you to swallow air with each bite, resulting in puffiness.
As to your second question, im not sure.. possible could you have eaten before touching your stomach?? maybe not.. so my guess it that your getting some abs!!
