about
Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?Makeup, skincare, and psychology are my passions and I'm also happy to give advice on relationships, particularly for teenagers (so many things I wish I could have told myself a decade ago!) I'm happy to help fellow abuse survivors as well.
I'm a diehard SF Giants fan and also enjoy watching the Sharks and Niners. Addicted to music, especially The Gaslight Anthem. Oh, and my name is Krista. :)

Hey! Im looking into seeing broadway shows, i love watching them and i was wondering if anyone had some they'd like to recomend!?
THanks a lot!
One word: Chicago. I saw it live and it was absolutely amazing.
And of course A Chorus Line is classic.
Also Rent and Grease are great.
Finally, if you ever get the opportunity to see STOMP do so immediately! It's the best live show I've ever seen in my life...dramatic but true.
I really didn't know what category to but this under but here is the question does anyone have any GOOD fundraising ideas to help raise money for the American Cancer Society? Thanks for all your help I need as many ideas as I can get.
A few ideas:
- Ask people to donate for a garage sale or used book sale
- Make jewelry
- If you're good at cooking, host a nice dinner where you have to donate a minimum of five bucks to get in
- Make decoupage boxes
- Buy some plain picture frames at Walmart and paint them
Whatever you decide to do, put up a big sign saying "all proceeds go to american cancer society". It may make someone want to buy more.
Good luck!
I was looking through my closet just to check on my dress that I'm gonna wear tonight to a party, and when I tried it on, I realised it had this pretty big and noticable tear right on the butt! and i dont know what to do! i dont have any other dress options in my closet, i can't leave the house to buy another one, and i absolutely canNOT wear this torn dress! what should i do? because i would rather skip the party than feel totally self-consious....HELP PLZ! ALL 5'S FOR GOOD ADVICE!
If you can, go to an alterations or cleaners and have them sew it up for you. Otherwise, you have three options:
(A) Wear dark undies and hope no one notices
(b) Attempt to sew it up yourself and hope for the best.
(c) Get that Ironing Tape and close the tear. (It's available at Walmart and sewing stores- like doublesided tape but it only activates when you iron it)
Just a random question :)
You know those jelly bracelets? The thin kind that come in colors like black, red, pink, white, etc.? Well I've heard that they mean different stuff i.e. black= had sex. So I'm just wondering, what do the other colors mean?
Thanks :)
Here's a website with some info: http://www.sex-bracelets.com/faq.shtml
Black: sexual intercourse
Blue: blow job
Green: cunnilingus
Clear: whatever you want
Orange: kiss
Yellow: hug
Red: lap dance
Purple: doggy style
Silver: fisting
White: flash your chest
Pink: flashing
Gold glitter: make out
Brown: toss my salad, i.e., analingus

my parents are divorced and i live a hard life....and what really frustrates me is when i see my dad and his gf making out... it makes me sick to the stomach!!!what will make me not feel this way????
♥ indeed2
Aw, I'm sorry. I went through the same thing.
You need to have a talk with your dad, and let him know you're still not over the divorce, and to tone down the PDA. If you can't say it, leave him a voicemail, email, or letter. Good luck!
If you try that and it doesn't work, drop one in my inbox or send me an email (tinkerbell_7141@msn.com) and we'll come up with something else.

I i got the dancing game i wanted (DDR). I cant stop playing it. My mom says i acn lose a lot of weight playing it. Is losing a lot of weight good or bad? I need help.
You'd have to work five hours a day nonstop to actually lose weight, so don't worry- the only thing that will happen is that you'll be more in shape. If you're sweating and you don't want to lose weight, than take a break.
Alright, my mom is taking me shopping soon, and I was wondering if any girls know maybe where some really good shirts described as these:
1.Long sleeved shirts that are sort of plainish, vintagish.
2.Tommy Hilfigure brand shirts
3.Mainly shirts that are very nice, and has hardley anything on it, and maybe a few idea on where to get a huge choice of jeans
This would be very helpful, high ratings given to those who list.
Gap, Old Navy, Walmart, Target, or American Eagle.
i comfort eat a lot, how can i stop this its starting to make a difference in my weight. thanks appriciate it
Eat in front of people. Eat what you want, but stop when you're full. Eat slowly so you can tell when you're full. It's okay to have dessert 3-4 times a week, but only after dinner. Eat more in the morning and less in the evening. Set a goal. Try gum or hard candy instead to occupy you . Make plans so you don't eat out of boredom. If none of this works, you should see your doctor.
Hope I helped!

My friends trying to quit smoking, he asked me for adviced and I told him to use those patch thingys. But is there any other ways to quit smoking? If you smoked, and now you dont..how'd you stop? Thanks and I'll rate everyone!
I've heard of this thing...they look like real cigarettes so you put them in your mouth like a cigarette to stop the craving, and it has stuff to help you quit instead of tobacco. You'd have to look it up though. Or try the Nicorette gum.
I am a preschool teacher at a church. The church supplies us with a yearly budget for craft supplies and snacks. My assistant is in charge of getting snacks for the students. She charges these at a grocery store on the church's account. When I checked the receipts I saw that she had charged two inexpensive personal items for herself and the chruch paid for it. She is my friend or atleast I thought she was. The church never asks for the itemized receipts only the total amount. Should I report her?
Thank you
If it was inexpensive, don't report her yet. First off, make sure the church paid for it- she could have paid them back or something. Only if you're absolutely sure, confront her. Ask her about it, but be nice, i.e.:
"I was looking at the receipts and I saw two items that looked like they weren't for the church, and I was just wondering about it. I know you'd never make the church pay for your own stuff, because that's horrible and selfish, so I just wanted to make sure you don't make that mistake again. okay?"
Then she's probably stop out of guilt.
Hope I helped!

ok i need to leave in liek 30 minutes, so if you could give me any sort of help quickly it would be great! i have to sing in about 2 hours and i have a cold that i just woke up with my throat is really sore and i feel like im loosing my voice, and i have a cough, i have no choice but ti sing today and its for judges... any advice on helping my throat?
As nasty as it sounds, drink a spoonful of olive oil and it should help. Don't have any dairy (milk, butter, cheese, yogurt) but drink lots of water, maybe a soda or two.
I'm really confused, and surprised. I talked to my friend today, and we were talking about how I'm interested in Witchcraft, and then she said "Are you telling me you're a witch?"and I got kinda uncomfortable and Was like,"not really"cause I'm interested in it but I'm not one..yet. And then I asked what she thinks a witch is, and she rattled off all the storytale things, and I was really surprised. I'm trying to explain to her what modern "white"witches are, but I'm doing the best I can, but I dont know if thats good enough, I cnt eactly tell her to go look it up online.
You need to explain that her that Wiccanism is a perfect normal religion- perhaps explain the concept of deity. I think wicca.com had some info on it, try looking it on, or give her the link to the wicca.com FAQ. Other than that there's not much you can do- people are so stupid :(.

Has anyone ever done a news report or read on The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton??? I have to do one due in 3 days, and i need help with the content and layout for English. Thx.Plz help
Yeah, I read it. What do you need help on specifically?
14/f i have trouble with cutting my self and i really dont kno what to do!!! any advice would be nice!
Hide everything you could possibly use to cut yourself- razors, scissors, everything. Cut your fingernails really short so you can't scratch yourself. Whenever you feel like cutting, write in a journal or online diary instead, or call a selfhelp number. Or talk a walk. If you think it's very serious, talk to a friend, trusted adult, or counselor.
You're doing good though- most people have trouble admitting it's a problem, so you've done the hardest part already.

my mom has been really stressed. she was suppoesd to pick me up after school yesterday and she was late. no biggie, right? but later she admitted she's forgotten about me. i'd like to help relieve some of her stress. any ideas?
hug her and say how much you appreciate her.
offer to do the laundry or dishes, or cook dinner
go out for coffee or a walk so she can have a break.
be very niec to her.
if your sibs are fighting, try to resolve it yourself.
my dad got arrested, and it's reallllllly embarassing. what should i do at school? i live in a small town so people will find out about it fast.
be the same girl you've always been. if a friend asks you, say, "i'd rather not talk about it" and change the subject. if someone u don't know asks, ignore them. if someone is repeatedly bothering you, tell them to get a life other than yours. if people tease you, let them know that you aren't your dad. you don't have to defend him, and if people know you won't talk about it, they're less likely to talk about it. you are not your dad, and anyone who can't see that isn't worth worrying about.
I'm 16 and a serious over-talker, especially when I'm excited or nervous. People get very irritated with me, and I don't know how to stop. Please help me break this habit.
~Gabby
don't just think, "I have to stop talking"; think, "i have to start listening". people like others to ask what's going on in their lives. after someone's game, test, or audition, ask, "how did it go?" also, remember that only your grandma wants to know every detail! all your convos don't have to be 50-50, but just make sure the person you're talking to gets a chance to do something besides nod.

I really don't dress well- like every day i wear this big baggy red jacket and either baggy jeans or sweatpants- and I'm giving myself a makeover. Does anyone have any tips, like stores to look at, places that will do my makeup once for free, etc.?
Thanks in advance.
i just did the same thing, lol. what i did was go on all these clothes websites and make myself a powerpoint, like i'd copy a pic of a skirt and a shirt and put them together, along with pictures of looks i liked and makeup and hair i liked. the websites i used were:
www.nordstrom.com
www.macys.com
www.jcpenney.com
www.wetseal.com
www.forever21.com
also, i'd recommend shopping at macy's, tj maxx, and kohl's. at sephora they can do your makeup.
hope i helped!
Well- My boyfriend and I have been dating a few weeks now, and i was needing some help. he was talking about this the other week- he wants to make out.. i'm 14 f. What should I do? He would be my first one? what if I mess up? does anyone know and techiques to help the guy get into it? what do i do to make him know i'm into it.. i'm scared.. ugh please help.
Here are a few tips:
(1) Wear lip gloss, but the right kind.
Don't wear slippery, sticky, or gooey lip gloss. The kind that's like lip blam with a slight tint is good. I've tested different lip glosses out with guys, and the one i've found they like the most is Bonne Bell LipLix in The Last Strawberry. (http://www.bonnebell.com/lips/liplix/) Don't wear foundation or a lot of makeup- at most, powder, maybe a little blush or eye shadow, no mascara or eyeliner.
(2) What to wear
Depends...if you have good legs, wear a miniskirt. If you don't, wear jeans. A cute tee is good, maybe in black, with a cute saying on the front. Wear your hair down and wavy. Don't put it back or up.
(3) Where to do it
As weird as it sounds, I've found the best place in actually in between the library bookshelves in the back.
Or at one of your houses.
Or the movies.
(4) Be prepared.
Bring breath mints- i've found IceBreakers Liquid Ice, though expensive, work the best- and a hair brush, along with lip gloss and a mirror, maybe some lotion. Wear a scent you know he likes.
(4) What to do
Cuddle for a few minutes. Sit in his hand. Maybe kiss him lightly, but let him make the first move. If he starts to kiss you regular, feel free to add tongue. Just move your tongue around his mouth GENTLY. As weird as it sounds, practive on your palm to be sure it's gentle. Move your tongue in a figure 8. Run your fingers through his hair. And enjoy!
Hope i helped! if you have any more questions, drop one in my inbox.
