eating i comfort eat a lot, how can i stop this its starting to make a difference in my weight. thanks appriciate it

the best way to stop this is to start doing something else for comfort! for me i would go punch a punching bag! lol yeah i know its different but try going for a walk or writing in a journal! set something up! when u reach for something ask yourself..."do i need this or am i eating for comfort"! hopefully that might help yea! ]

I have the same problem, but it doesn't seem to have any affect on my weight. If you can, try and use self control over your body, and think to yourself, that food does not make things better at all, it just makes matters worse. Make sure you eat healthier, and eat slower. When you eat slower, it goes into your stomach faster, this way you become fuller faster. Hope I helped a little! <3 ]
instead of eating try working out. i find wen im so pissed i jump on a bike box or run have fun. ]
Whenever you go to get food, ask yourself if you ARE hungry. If you aren't, than just go and watch T.V or do something to keep your mind off food. Besta Luck ]
when you feel like eating grab a bottle of water it will fill you up! and studies show when you think you are a little hungry you may just be thirsty so grabbing a bottle of water is a great way to lost off some extra punds. hope this helps!! ]

When you catch yourself getting something to eat, think to yourself, "Am I hungry?" If you aren't, then put the food back where ever you got it. Or if you do want to eat, eat healthier like fruits, vegetables, low carb and low calorie foods. Try to distract yourself from eating when you shouldn't. Watch a movie, hang out with friends, clean your room, do a school project ahead of time. If you just think before you eat, you will stop eating when you shouldn't. Hope I helped :)

Well i was watching a show on E! or somthing and it said sleeping makes you not want to eat more. Cardio also helps you lose weight. So in other words, just get more sleep, and do cardio and pilotes.

Every time you feel like you want a chocolate bar or something, wait twenty minutes. I know it's really hard, but if by that time you're still craving one, then go and get something else sweet - for example, chocolate milk (at least you're getting calcium!), cereal (fibre) or fruit (vitamins and minerals), or maybe a digestive biscuit (just plain yummy sugar :P). And always stop at just the one - I'm awful with this, I eat one and end up eating the whole packet!! I've found that brushing my teeth straight after eating something sweet helps - it means that the sweet taste goes away so you're not craving more, and food taste so nasty just after you've brushed your teeth that you won't want to eat any more!!
Drink at least half a glass of water every time you feel hungry - it'll help you to get in those infernal 8 glasses a day, and most hunger is actually thirst, believe it or not. Also, half an hour before eating a big meal (i.e. if you're going out and you know you'll eat a lot), drink about 250ml (a small drinks bottle, or two medium cups) of FREEZING cold water - it gives your metabolism a kick start and means you burn your food off up to four times faster than normal!! Remember to always wait half an hour before eating after that though.

Eat in front of people. Eat what you want, but stop when you're full. Eat slowly so you can tell when you're full. It's okay to have dessert 3-4 times a week, but only after dinner. Eat more in the morning and less in the evening. Set a goal. Try gum or hard candy instead to occupy you . Make plans so you don't eat out of boredom. If none of this works, you should see your doctor.

set a goal for yourself... every day decide that maybe youll only eat 2 pieces of junk food that day... im the same way... when im bored i eat... try to find something else to occupy yourself... maybe clean out your pantry of junk food and when you want to eat something, resort to healthy food... if you dont have the will power to stop eating conmfort food totally then when youre bored just have an apple or something... also, you should try chewing gum... it occupies you and isnt unhealthy... or you can just get like hard creamsavers or something... its not healthy but its not that bad... hope i helped!

I comfort eat a lot also. A way to stop this is when your depressed, look on the bright side of things. When you start to comfort eat, stop yourself and ask yourself, "am i really hungry?" and if your not, put it back in the cabinet. If you are, and the thing your pulling out isn't so healthy, eat fruit or something healthy. And if you are in a situation where you MUST comfort eat, eat something healthy, that way your not eating junk food. :)

Yeah i kinda eat when Im bored too, the best way to get over it is to plan more things for you to do, because then you wont be that bored anymore! Hope I helped!!=)

Thikn about something good before you pop the food in your mouth. Or listen to some good music, or turn on a good movie =) .. sometimes i "bored eat" and im trying to stop by like cleaning or reorganizing things or reading a book =)
