My name is Laura and I'm 28 years old. I live in Illinois and work as a licensed veterinary technician. I am a runner, bookworm and obviously, an animal lover.I've been on this site since '05. I take hiatuses, but I'm never gone for good. I enjoy giving advice and I've made such lovely friends on this site that I couldn't imagine giving it up!

okay im 13 and i will be 14 in 2 months and im thinking about having sex w/ my boyfrien tell me what i should do
Are you ready to have a baby of your own?
Are you ready to contract a potentially life threatening STD?
Didn't think so. Don't do it. You're still you and you've got plenty of time for sex, kid. Don't screw your entire life up now. The fact you're questioning it at all shows that you aren't ready.

I have a serious problem with my ipod. When I put it in and the library and all that shows up, I can't find it on my ipod anymore. I mean it is right there in my library, but not in my ipod. This has happened to me numerous times, and it is starting to make me lose money. For example, I bought two episodes for the office and plugged my ipod in the next day after already loading them on the night before. So there on my ipod and then when I try to update my ipod the next day they get pulled off my ipod, but it is still in my library. This is so confusing!!!!!!! How do I get them back on? Sprry for the long question....
Ok, so you downloaded something and it's on your computer but not your iPod? This can be for a number of reasons including:
1. What kind of iPod are you using?
- You can only have TV episodes on VIDEO iPods, not nanos or minis or shuffles.
2. How much space is on your iPod?
- Is your iPod all filled up? Do you have enough room for the episodes?
Update with more information, or send me an inbox and I'll try my best to help you =]

right around my elbow there's like a ring of these bumps, and it itches.
does anyone what it is or what could have caused this?
We are not doctors here, and since we can't physically see it, we cant' give you a definite answer. It could be a variety of things. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a doctor or dermatologist.
But for now, just keep the area clean and try using an anti itch cream.
-Laura. (16-f)
EDIT:
Maybe it's Eczema, I have it and you need to go to a doctor to fully treat it. There, better answer for you?
Does anyone know where to get a white denim skirt (one that's maybe distressed a little bit)? I found one at Hollister for $30, but i was looking for one that was cheaper..
Websites are VERY helpful, thank you.

From there, I'd try Forever 21 and Old Navy.

i missed so you think you can dance last week, so when i saw it 2 weeks ago comfort and thayne got eliminated. now i saw it this week, and comfort is back on for some reason and jessica (my favorite) is gone. did i miss something? i'm pissed comfort is there and jessica isn't comfort sucks at everything besides hip hop. what happened?
Jessica broke 4 ribs or something along those lines, and her doctors told her she couldn't dance. So the girl who was last eliminated [aka Comfort] was brought back into the competition. Comfort got voted off last night [again] though.
Go Mark! ;]

So I have this friend...
I mean yeah I love him in a friendly way.
But he says "I love you" way too much.
And every time he does, I either
-Say it back
-Smile
-Or say "Mkay."
And I'm a cery sarcastic person & he takes my sarcasism as rudeness.
I don't wanna hurt his feelings...
But I dont want people to think we're more than friends. You know?
Well any answers will help.
love, Rachel
You have 2 options:
1. Talk to him about it.
2. Stop caring what others think.
With the first, you can just sit down with him and tell him that people are beginning to get the impression that the two of you are more than friends. Explain to him you'd like him to cut back a bit with saying "I love you".
With the second, you simply ignore people and tell them he's your friend and you only love him in a friendly way, and that's it.

So I was checkin out my cousins myspaces the other day...
Lets say Her name is Lauren.
And his is Ryan.
Well I hung out with Lauren about five days ago and she was talkin about these two guys she liked. But then today i read her "about me" on Myspace. And it was talkin about how she's done with guys cuz there all the same. And they all break her heart. So do you think this is just a phase for her? (shes 16 going on 17)
Then theres my cousin Ryan. I dont talk to him much. But i looked at his Myspace today and in his "orietation" space it said "Not Sure." So do you think that means theres a chance of him being gay? (hes 13)
Well Im just curious about whats up with them... Please and thank you.
love rachel
1. It's a phase. We all go through it, we all get over it.
2. Nobody here knows him personally, so we can't give you a definite answer. It is, however, his own personal life and maybe he just really isn't sure.

Out of all my friends I'm the ONLY ONE who hasn't kissed a boy. (13/f) It's so annoying hearing about everyones first kiss. I know it's suppose to be special and what ever. But honestly, I'm done caring. I just wanna get it over with. You know? I've tried truth or dare, Spin the bottle.. But not once have I been dare or chosen. It's like God doesn't want me kissin a dude. But it makes me feel SO stupid. Ha. I sound so pathetic.
But help?
Any help will work...
Don't rush into it. You'll totally regret it. First kisses are supposed to be special, and unexpected and all that jazz. Just wait until you find the right guy, and let it happen naturally. I know people who haven't had their first kiss yet, and they're 16. It's really not a big deal.
If you rush into it with some random guy you don't even know, what will the point be? Can we say pointless...?

I'm 15/f/USA and I own a dapple grey appendix quarter horse, 8yr. One of my trainers recently said he probably most definetly has stomach ulcers. My horse never stands still for one thing, he swerves all over the place. My trainer said probably cause of the ulcers. Now can someone please exactly tell how a horse can get stomach ulcers, what they are, why, the treatment for them, symptoms? I'm just curious because I want to get my horse better :]
thanks:]
We aren't vets on this site, so we can't give you solid information. Your best bet is to see a professional, like a veterinarian.
This might help you:
I hope your horse gets better soon! =]

I'm a guy between the ages of 13-18, and I'd like to know what girls like in a guy. So, what do they look for?
It really varies from girl to girl. Everybody has different preferences and turn ons and turn offs.
Some girls like athletes, some girls like boys in drama. Some girls like funny, outgoing and social guys, some like quiet shy bookworm guys.
Personally? I'd go for the theater guy over the basketball player, and the bookworm over the socialite. But that's just me ;]
Personality wise, here are my top 5:
1. A good sense of humor.
- A good sense of humor is always beneficial. And not a stupid "that's what she said!" sense of humor, somebody who can genuinely make an original joke. Making a girl laugh is one of the best things you can do in an effort to "win her heart".
2. Intelligence.
-Being smart is good, too. Us girls don't want to talk to somebody who can't count higher than 10, or who doesn't understand what's happening in the world. You don't have to be a total know it all, just smart enough to hold a decent conversation.
3. Nice guys.
- Nice guys DON'T finish last. If you compliment a girl, chances are she won't forget it any time soon. However, if you're mean to a girl, she'll remember for A LOT longer.
4. A good appearance.
- I'm not going to lie and don't think I'm shallow, but looks are all you have to go on for the first few minutes of knowing somebody. So if you're shirts half untucked, your shoes are untied, and your hair is unbrushed and a mess, chances are girls won't be into it.
5. Showing interest/having similar interests.
- I cannot tell you how attractive it is when I'm talking to a guy and he asks my favorite band, and the replies with, "I love The Rocket Summer, too!" Ask questions, and tell her when you like something she likes. If you have a lot in common, your relationship will go a lot farther than if you have nothing in common.
Those, however, are just the things I like but like I said, it's different for different girls. But a good sense of humor and giving a girl compliments are DEFINETE ins.

what would a 13 year old girl look for in a thirteen year old guy?
I'm not 13, I'm 16, but I'll try to help you out anyways...

I've been thinking about putting my advice column on my college application. I know it would impress them, but the reason I'm worried is because there are a lot of really odd and disgusting sexual questions, that even I have answered, and I don't want people thinking I'm some sleezy guy, because I'm not. I'm a virgin and I've never even made out with a girl yet.
What do you think I should do?
16 and male, by the way.
Thanks for inboxing ;]
I've been contemplating this myself, and I think that you should put it on there. Maybe, along with the column's web address, you can put something like: "Please do not take into account any offensive material that may be on the site, as I have no control over the questions some people feel the need to post." or something like that?
Also, it's good that you AREN'T some sleezy guy and that you have morals. Just thought I'd point that out =]
Good Luck!

I am 19 years old and i have been having protected sex for 3 years now. i have been on birth control for about 3 years now too. i have always remembered to take my pill on time and on the right days. but last month in June i forgot for 3 days. i was really stressed out and forgot. so i got my period the next day and i have had it for the past two months. i have been taking my birth control and it wont go away. but the other day i had sex with my boyfriend and we didnt use a condom ( we weren't thinking) and he went inside me. and that was only two days ago. could i be pregnant? and why is my period 2 months long?
"i had sex with my boyfriend and we didnt use a condom"
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=538566
ANY time you have sex, especially unprotected sex, you risk getting pregnant. I don't know anything about Birth Control, though. I also know nothing about UTI's, so you should probably schedule an appointment with your doctor just to be safe.
Next time, please be safe!

ok so i just met this guy and he is a year younger than me and hes kinda cute and idk i think i like him but i just need to hang out with him more to see if i really like him for sure but my question is .. do you think its better to play hard to get or go ahead and be more forward and like text him and ask him to hang out and stuff (or would that seem too desperate?)
thanks in advance :)
Thanks for inboxing.
I don't think you should play "hard to get". When I asked my best guy friend about it, he said that "guys hate it when girls play hard to get."
I think you should just take a chance and ask him to hang out. You've got nothing to lose!
-Laura. (16-f)
so is it true that girls find gay guys kissing hot?
It's all a matter of personal preference, I guess. I myself really don't find it "hot" or anything like that, but apparently, a lot of girls do?
-Laura. (16-f)
so.
It's summer now.
annd, I need some cute summer girl clothes.
It's really hard for me to find nice, cute, not tight fitting girls clothes, that I like.
Im extremely picky. annd, well. I suck at shopping.
Usually I wear boy clothes. orr, jeans and hoodies. BUT, it's way to hot to do so now.
so, i'm wondering if someone could recommened some clothes stores.
uhm, Price doesn't matter to me, really. so.
Also, when I do shop for girls stuff I like TNA :]. also, I was thinking of trying american eagle?

would dying my armhair blonde harm my skin?
It really depends on your skin. None of us here can tell you for sure, but like the columnist below said, it's always best to do a test first. You never know if it will harm or irritate your skin unless you do a test!
-Laura. (16-f)
well i really really really like this guy alot!!

My friend Jack answered a question that may help you: http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=505520
From there:
"First- I'm going to tell you that relationships aren't all they are cracked up to be. Sure- they are fun having someone to share things with and be with. But they involve a huge commitment and if you end up with someone who is clingy- they'll want to be with you every minute of every day- and you might not have time for friends or anything else you want to do. I say this because one of my ex-girlfriends was sort of like that- and got mad if I was busy with other plans.. and it was just really retarded.
Anyway- the best way to attract a guy is to be yourself. If you try to change yourself just to get a boyfriend [especially at your age]- you'll just end up with someone who only likes you for what you've become- not who you are. If you be yourself- and don't change- you'll attract more guys who actually care about your personality rather than just your looks.
I myself like any type of girl. I honestly don't judge looks as much as I do personality. If a girl is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she's a bitch- why would I like her? What would our relationship be? What would we talk about? Her latest hair extensions? Yeah- that would be REALLY nice *Sarcasm: Party of one!*...
If a girl has a really nice personality- and she's really outgoing and sweet and nice and smart- and she's not necessarily the best looking girl- but she's not super unattractive- then I'll most likely want to date her over the beautiful bitch.
Do you get what I'm saying? If you let guys see your personality more than your looks- you'll end up with someone great. Trust me- most guys prefer personality over looks- they just don't know it yet =]."
As far as what to do, I think swimming would be fine. Why wouldn't it be?
-Laura. (16-f)
i asked this question on another site, i just need more peoples opinions with what might be going on
so, i have always had a regular period, every 23 days i have my period.. i had unprotected sex on the 22 day and so i was suppose to get my period the next day(monday) and i still haven't gotten it..and people have told me you cant get pregnant a couple days before you get your period because your not ovulating, so my question is can sex cause changes in your cycle.. i also have been having sex for over a year and its never changed before.. but maybe it has now?
( we did use a condom but it broke)
ANY time you have sex, there is a chance of pregnancy. If you don't get your period, take a pregnancy test and check out this link:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=538566
Please practice safe sex.
