If you're 14 and he's 20, I can honestly say he's probably not that interested in you. If he's in college / college age, why can't he get girls his own age? He shouldn't resort to middle schoolers / freshmen / 14 year olds.

And yeah, it's illegal.

um after the ice age.. like i heard that we're still in it since greenland and antarctica ice sheets havent completely melted what happens? cause we seem to be getting warmer which i think is also increasing faster due to like.. greenhouse gases and stuff. so.. will we in years to come be like.. super warm on earth? and during the ice age how did people survive. infact were humans around during the ice age? can you clue me in to a history of our time with the earth and stuff? include info on dinosaurs.. stuff like that so it makes sense to me, im just 13 and interested. also i heard that noah (in the christian bible.. the guy with the ark of animals) was real and lived near egypt and there was a big flood on the Nile.. so it is a real story, but perhaps exaggerated? explain please. and supervolcanoes.. im scared of them. what if that thing in yellowstone erupts? what would be signs if it were to erupt? how DO volcanoes erupt and why? plus is it possible to fall into a volcano? like is there this big hole at the top.. i mean then why would anyone wanna hike up a volcano. and if you fall in is it like instant death or what? *shiverz just thinking about it* by the way feel free to use christian terms since well im a christian

Wow, lots of questions! I'll try to answer them in the order you asked.

No, we're not still in the ice age. In the ice age, a very large portion of Earth was completely covered in ice and glaciers. This is not happening right now. Yes, we will be getting warmer due to global warming. Humans are releasing so many bad gasses into the ozone which is causing the global temperature to drastically increase. I read that in 35 years, it will be impossible to go outside for 10 minutes without being burned. I can't vouch for the accuracy of that, though.

Yeah, humans were alive during the ice age. They were obviously very cold and many died from the cold. They hunted wooly mammoth and cave bears and all that stuff. They wore lots of fur to keep warm.

The planet Earth started out as a big planet covered entirely in hot, bubbling lava and extreme heat, similar to the current planet Venus. Eventually it cooled and the first tiny organisms were formed. They eventually evolved into things like fish, frogs, chickens, and dinosaurs. No one knows what really killed the dinosaurs-- it could be an asteroid, ice age, climate change, etc.

Noah is not a real story. There was not some guy who talked to God and gathered two of every animal onto a big boat. But there was really a flood. Noah is just a story that goes along with the flood.

I googled 'supervolcano' and found that if the Yellowstone Supervolcano ever erupted, there'd be horrible effects. Volcanic ash would literally cover all of the United States at least a cm high. There would be mass destruction and many people would die. The thick ash would bury large parts of the country, and an enormous amount of volcanic gasses would get released into the atomosphere, dramatically changing would climate. Apparently the Yellowstone volcano had it's worst eruption 2.1 million years ago.

Volcanoes erupt because they make magma, which turns into lava. The lava starts to rise up the volcano and collects rocks and ash as it does this. When it gets to the top of the volcano, the lava will blast out. The volcano will literally blow it's top off. It is very possible to fall in one. A few months ago, a tourist fell into the Congo volcano and died.

EDIT: The Earth IS going to end one day. It sounds really really scary, but it will. In about 5 billion years, the sun is going to burn out. So that will effectively kill all of humanity, if humans are still even alive in 5 billion years anyway. I think I also read that the next ice age may come in about 20,000 years. So what will happen then? Nobody really knows for sure.

People in the ice age were not very advanced. I don't know of any specific people in the time period, but if you google "people in ice age" you'll get lots of information.

I agree with you about religion and science not mixing. I'm Jewish and I've always heard the story of Adam and Eve, and how G-d created the world in a week, but I've come to accept that as a STORY. I'm not going to steer you away from your own religious beliefs, but personally, I believe in evolution. There's too much evidence, and Adam and Eve is just a story, IN MY OPINION.

I completely agree with you. I'm Jewish and don't believe in hell, and my Christian friend constantly tells me that since I don't accept Jesus I'm going to hell. She's constantly trying to convert me to Christianity, which is NOT going to happen. I know it gets really annoying and people seem to be really defensive over their religion, but try not to get too irritated. They probably think your idea of no heaven or hell is just as crazy as you think THEIR idea is. Tell them that you don't believe any god would send innocent people to a life of eternal suffering. That's what I say and it always shuts them up. Good luck :)

I am a bit of a pathological liar, but the thing is I only lie to certain people. For example, I tell a person everything is ok when its not only because I don't want them to know that I'm upset or in pain. These people are people who either don't like me or want to see me fall or upset. How do I stop the lying without letting them win?

That's not lying at all. Most people in their life have said "I'm fine" when they're not. You're certainly not a pathological liar.

If it's people who don't like you, you don't owe them anything. Lying to your friends is one thing, but telling someone who wants to see you hurt that you are fine, is a nonissue.

how is nyc diff from the rest of the state of ny? and upstate is diff too? how?

NYC is like no other place in the rest of NY. In the city, it's busy, crowded, high powered, diverse; most of the world knows what it's like. Some parts of it are what you see in magazines; high fashion, expensive, Times Square, etc, and some parts are run down, drugged up, and filled with the homeless.

I don't think any other city in NY is like NYC. Most people live in the suburbs; houses with lawns, backyards, etc. I live about 30 minutes away from NYC and where I live, people visit semi-often.

I haven't been to upstate NY much, but a lot of it is historical. Once I went on a field trip there and we saw a governor's mansion, and a bunch of other historical sights that I forgot :P.

I was talking about this with my dad the other day.

Basically, the guy that came up with "I think therefore I am" was trying to answer questions about reality. He wanted to prove that we actually exist, and were not being controlled by robots, or some higher being, or whatever. So he came up with "I think therefore I am". Since you can form thoughts for yourself, you do exist.

This does not apply to other people, though-- every single other person can be a figment of your imagination, or simulations placed here in some twisted game controlled by a higher being, where you are the only real person, or whatever. But in the end, "I think therefore I am" proves that you do exist.

I'd take it more as an insult, that they were saying you were boring. It's pretty much saying that you can't keep them entertained or think of anything interesting to do or say. Rarely do they mean that they think they are boring themselves.

Well, obviously we can't tell you if he's lying or not, because we're not him. But I doubt that he would tell Rebecca that he still likes Taylor, because it would obviously get back to you. But then again, I don't see any motive for Rebecca lying to you unless she likes John and wants to break you up.

I'd confront him about it. If Rebecca and Cody are lying, he has no reason to be angry or upset, since he did nothing wrong. If he snaps, like he did when he said "Rebecca needs to shut up because she is lying", I'd be a bit cautious seeing as it's an odd reaction for someone innocent.

Ok so it's my first year of high school and i totaly cant do this whole high school thing i'm already thinking about dropping out because i'm way to stressed i dont feel comfortable asking anyone for help but my sister and my sister wont help me cause i get way to mad when i do homework because i'm so stressed and i can deal with my english teacher because all he does is give you work and more work and barely explains anything what am i supposed to do i am seriously so close to dropping out right now and if i tell my parnts i cant deal with my english teacher and all he does is give work they just tell me right your just be lazy you need to get off your butt and do work i just cant do this anymore what am i supposed to do people my whole life have told me your just being lazy you really are really smart blah blah blah but the real problem that they dont see is that i am stupid i dont understand half the work and i cant do it and i'm not jsut saying that because i hate school or anything cause teh only reason why i hate schoool is because my english teacher and because i'm getting such bad grades

I guarantee you there are many people in your grade who feel the same way. You're only in your second month of high school, and you're still getting used to it. I know how you feel-- every one of my middle school teachers warned me that high school would be a big change from middle school but I didn't really believe them until I got there.

I suggest staying after school one day to talk to your english teacher about any assignment you are confused on-- he is there to help you. If you still don't get it/don't want to do that, ask a friend in your class. I'd also recommend visiting your guidance counsler. The reason they exist are to help you with problems like these, and they may recommend things you can do to make your work easier.

Basically, don't stress out too much. There are plenty of people who don't adjust right away, but eventually you'll figure it out. Good luck!

I doubt anyone will know what i'm talking about, But I read this book over the summer and totally forget what the name of it is! here's a summery.

Its about a boy named (i want to say David,but i know thats not it) and he was really depressed, and a drugg addict. He almost killed himself, but instead he went to a mental hospital. He met a girl who cuts herself, and they began to like eachother. He could only leaved when he believed he could get better. Then, he started drawing pictures of (his friends) heads and "maps" in them. he'd call them "brain maps" and everyone of the friends he's made wanted a drawing. In the end, he gets out of the mental hospital and feels "reborn"

How do celebrity people honestly get so skinny. Is it because of an eating disorder? Even so, it seems that they lose the weight much faster than any 'normal' person who has one. I dont understand.

Some of them have eating disorders. It seems like every week in every celebrity magazine, there's at least one article on somebody with an eating disorder.

Plus, they can afford the most sought-after personal trainers. Celebrities work out every single day, and follow a strict diet. I remember reading that Victoria Beckham was on an eight hour flight and all she ate/drank was a few cups of tea. Not really the best diet, but it explains her 10 pound body.

And some people are just naturally skinny.

my boyfriend and i have been going out for a few weeks now, maybe 4 or 5 somewhere in that range, and the other day, we had a fight. he got mad at me because he said that i was making fun of him, and then he started to pass notes with this other girl. and it really made me pissed off!!!!.

and i told him to not pass notes with her, and he said " why not, were friends, were both in band"

and then he got mad because i got mad for him passing notes with her. all the note said was her asking him if he was mad at me. but it still made me really mad. and then i started to think that he was cheating on me with her. and then that made him even more mad, and he dosent even want to talk to me, and he said that he might break up with me. i dont want to go to school monday, and him break up with me. what do i do?!?!?!

Honestly, you completely overreacted. How would you feel if he got mad at you for talking to one of your guy friends?

He probably feels like you're controlling him by telling him what he can and can't do. Plus, if the note was her asking him if he was mad at you, wasn't it HER who passed the note, not your boyfriend?

I'm not sure there's much you can do about the situation. I'd send him a serious email/IM/contact him in some way, to tell him that you're very sorry and you know you were overreacting. Say that you trust him. If you don't trust him, there's no point in the relationship, to tell you the truth.

Poodle Skirts were extremely popular during the 50s. You've probably seen them, the big pink skirts with the little poodles in the corner. This skirt with a tucked in tshirt would work. Also, cat eye glasses and chiffon scarves tied around the neck to accessorize.
