Do you mean variable? If so, it can mean a lot of things. It can be something inconsistant; someone whose inconsistant; capable of being diverse; of a star, changing in brightness; of a wind, changing in direction; a symbol of something that has no fixed value; or deviating from a strict type, as a species or specific character.
With a biological aspect, I think the last definition would be more helpful. Unless you're preforming experiments, then the second to last. there's dependent variable and independent variable. The dependent variable is called dependent because it varies depending what takes place during the experiment. The independent variable is the variable being manipulated, or changed.

yesterday i was at my parents house because my dad was fixing my car. well my boyfriend went home for lunch, which is about two minutes from my parents house. he calls me and asks how my car is coming. i tell him that my dad is still working on it, because i was going to surprise him that it was finished. he says he is going to eat something and go to the bathroom, then he would go to my moms and see me. the night before we had watched scary movie part 3 and pamela andersons boobs are popping out of her shirt. these kinds of things in movies upset me and he knows it. well i head to our house, i open the door and what i see shocks me! he has a sock on his penis and is getting off to pam, the same movie that we had seen together the other night. i feel betrayed and i feel like he has hid this from me, what else? i have asked him before if he had done this and he said no. i lost his trust. am i overreacting? whos right here? and what should i do? we have a baby and i am pregnant and 19. Almost every guy does it. I don't blame him for lying. I would definitely not leave him for it. Only eunuchs don't think of other women. However, he should at least try to stop, since he knows how much it bothers you. You two have a family together, it's not worth tearing it apart.

I am slightly underweight .
I'm about 5'2 and about 36 kg , which is not really seriously underweight , so no problems there . Lots of pple tell me that i'm really thin and stuff , but i can't help noticing that i seem to have rather fat upper arms . What can i do about this ? ( i don't think it will be wise to diet , as i am already light , and i don't want any of my measurements to change , except for my upper arms ) . (link)

Repetitions of fast movement will tone them down. MFS is right in that you definitely don't want to use heavy weights. I would try a sport that utilizes the fast movement, like ping pong, or a martial art.

Hello, I am a female who has a very international background. I having been living abroad for half of my life though I still go back home once a year.
This February I made my annual trip back home and I met a guy who I instantly found attractive and we connected. But he has no experience of living abroad and his life could not be far more different from mine. He pretty much grew up in one place and is just used to one culture, so not internationally minded. We have so much chemistry and I still do like him a lot. But am I right in thinking that in a long run we would drift apart because we're just too different? I know I can only try and find out by developing a relationship with him, but I do not want to invest my time in something which will not go anywhere. (link)

Your time spent together would be better than spent alone. In my experience, people are generally happier when in a relationship. I wouldn't worry about drifting apart right now, because you never know. A couple of my friends were very in love and had a lot in common, but they drifted apart. I would invest my time. This may sound really dumb, but I am seriously obsessed with a particular male celebrity. For some weird reason, once I see that "one hot" celebrity and learn a bit about him, I change myself entirely towards what relates closely to him. For example, if I were absolutely in love with Johnny Depp, I'd start to do more dark things and even dye my hair black. It's hard for me to find relationships because I'm always looking for guys who are close or exactly like that particular male celebrity. I know I'm never going to meet any male celebrity, but there is always some kind of hope in me that says I will. HELP!!! (link)

Remember, celebrities are larger than life because other people make them that way. There is no telling whether or not what we hear about him is true, he could be a complete jerk. Try dating someone who isn't like him, but you still like. It would help a little if I knew how old you were, and who this celebrity is. You could try going on a guy break. Just concentrate on work, or school, or whatever it is you do day to day. Try thinking about this guy less and less as each day goes by.

It's possible, I've annoyed girls that I had a crush on, simply because I didn't know how to talk to her. Of course, that's the worse thing you can do to a girl you like. I would just try to ignore him, he may just be a jerk. Friends playing matchmaker most of the time get it wrong. There was this girl I liked, and her friend told me to ask her out. I did, and she didn't feel the same way. It's wise not to date anyone you don't know. You definately want to meet the guy first.

From your perspective, it would be okay. A friendly dance never hurt anyone, even if you've never danced before. From his side, if you dance with him he may think you like him. Turning him down would be more devastating if he asked you out. On the other hand, situations like this are a good way of figuring out your how you really feel about him. I would make sure that he knows you aren't interested in dating before you dance with him. We're talking about a slow dance, right?

Try to convince your mom to designate a part of the house for Miss Piggy. If the problem is with house training or her size, you will have to block her from getting to any other part of the house. You can try to convince your mom to let you keep her in your room. But when it comes to parents and pets, they rarely change their mind. Parents are usually set in their ways.

My BEST FRIEND is dick wooped. (dick wooped means she does anything for him). she says she isn't but i think she knows she is. it bothers me because she does anything for him and she is such a great person and he takes advatage of her. he is her ex-boyfriend. i tell her and she says she doesn't like him and doesn't do what-ever he says. i need help trying to talk to her about it. Your friend is in denial. She obviously still loves him. You already told her, so by continually talking to her about it, she may get mad at you. You might try setting her up with someone else, though a lot of people don't like being set up. Try anything to get her to start thinking about other guys.

I think they haven't stopped growing yet. I'd give them a few years. Your mother probably developed early, that doesn't mean you will too. Girls develop at all kinds of different ages.

If your worried about the masturbating thing, it could be a hormonal thing. Try to get into a relationship with someone. I would try to stop, but if you're addicted, then I would seek help from a psychiatrist or someone along those lines. By the age of 24 your beard should have grown in thick by now. I would seek help from a doctor if you are very worried about it, though I'm not sure if they can do anything.

ok i have a really big problem with depression, and i was really depressed tonight i spent the enitre night crying ym eyes out, while my boyfriend went to a social ( a wedding anniversary for his friends parents that is basically a really big party). does your boyfriend know how depressed you are? If he does, he should have never gone to that party. It's not like it's his parents aniversary. I've been depressed too but not to this extent. Everything made me cry, and most of the time I wanted to die. Crap I rhymed. One time the Friends theme song made me cry for a while. But if you're puking up blood all night, then this is serious. Are you taking any medication? I would go see a doctor, and you should be mad, but I'm not sure whether or not you should dump him over this. Tell him how you feel, and dump him if you can't forgive him.

You usually get pregnant when you're ovulating, but even if you weren't, I'd still get a home pregnancy test to find out. If you are pregnant, I'd start thinking about whether or not you want an abortion, you probably don't want to start raising a child at this age. And if you are, there's no other right way to tell your family than just straight out telling them.

You are young, but since you asked, it won't factor into my advice. It seemed like he has moved on, so the healthy thing would be to move on too. If you do want to get him back though, it won't be easy, especially since he's the one who ended it. Try to act aloof, and not needy. After four months, you probably developed a closeness to him, right? So just tell him how you feel. If he rejects your love, the only thing you can do is find some form of closure. The first step is to talk to other guys, which will lead to thinking about other guys, which will lead to the closure.

Hopefully I'm getting this. You love a girl whose dating your best friend, and she hasn't stopped seeing him. She loves you. You stopped dating your girlfriend (Her best friend) Mainly so you two can be together, and then she tells you she doesn't want to be friends anymore. Does that mean she wants to be more than friends, or that she doesn't want to see you anymore. Then you two fall in love again, and man... Man this has to be an emotional rollercoaster for you. You have my sympathy.
You said that you two were in love now, right? And you talk to her for hours a day, does your friend know about this? I'm assuming not, it would drive him into a jealous frenzy. So the best conclusion I can come up with is to talk to her. I know that's probably not the expert opinion you were looking for, but hear me out. You ask her to break up with your best friend, if she loves you she will. If she doesn't, maybe you guessed wrong when you said you dated her best friend. Maybe she thinks of you as her best friend. Scratch that, she said that she doesn't want to be friends anymore right in the middle of all this. Wow, this is a pickle. Still ask her about her feelings. I'm sure she wouldn't be joking if she said she loved you, but figure out what she meant by love. Does she want to date you, or does she love you as a friend. I can see that you're close, so if your so close to where she can tell you she loves you, you should be able to ask her what she meant. If she says the friend thing, then lifes not over, you got yourself the best friend you could find. If she wants to date, then life's even better for you. This has gotten me nervous just thinking about it. If you decide to ask her, tell me how it goes.
