Hi, my name is Faith. Not my real name because I'm wary of that on the web. However I need some advice on how to bring a subject up to my brothers without causing anyone to be mad at me and my husband. My husband and I own our own home and for years have been sharing our water tap with my brothers who live next to us. We would now like them to have their own water taps because none of us should be paying a penny more than our own usage. We all have several children, we have a pool and one brother has a smaller pool for his children (not a kiddie pool). Our feeling is the only way to be fair is for everyone to have their own. My husband has delegated me to talk with them about this and find out when they might be able to get their own tap. This makes me extremely nervous. I know this costs money and they don't have extra piles of it lying around. I need a fresh perspective and some really good advice. I love them and don't want them to get upset with us. Wow, that's a hard one. You guys can't pay it anymore, right? And they can pay their part. If this is the case, simply apologize, then tell them you guys can't afford sharing a tap. Tell, them they can take as long as they need if they don't have the money. If they take too long, then you might want to acknowledge that. If this isn't the case, then you'll just have to tell them it is only fair that they get their own. That still sounds a little too much though, make your husband do it.

The average, according to a chart I viewed on some website, is around 5 1/4 inches. Unless the girls really loose, size doesn't matter much. From what my female friends tell me, being too big is worse. It's far more painful. The biggest on the chart was a little over a foot, the smallest was like an inch and a half. If your either, I feel sorry for you pal. Size matters, but only if your one of the extremes. If not, then from what I hear, it's mostly in the technique.

This really bothers me. My mother-in-law in particular does this. First of all, to those that do this, STOP IT! Nobody knows everything. Just because you know something that someone else does'nt know, that does not make you better or smarter than them. And even if you are smarter, let's say more educated, you can still be respectful when answering a question. This also applies to you advice people. I'll give you an example that happened today with my mother-in-law. She is getting her house painted and I asked her why her house had spots all over it, and she answers in this patronizing way " They have to fill in all the holes and cracks, they can't just leave it like that and slap paint on it. Well excuuuse me. I don't know anything about painting houses, and I told her that I didn't realize that's what they were doing, and she didn't have to make me feel dumb. Then she says that it was a dumb question. She is so rude and hurtful it makes me so angry. If it was me, and I knew about house-painting, and someone asked me this question I would have simply and politely stated that it was spackle to fill in the holes and cracks. I guess some people like to lord it over people even about stupid things just to make themselves feel superior. If this happens again, with her or someone else, can someone give me an example of a good comeback or tell me how to handle myself better? I ended up saying "Thanks for making me feel stupid." Which I'm sure was not the best way to respond. She didn't say anything. Smug people really bug me! (link)

I usually just sarcastically say what's on my mind, and the tone used is what usually pisses them off. Like in that question, I'd say,"Forgive me for asking such a stupid question. I forgot the all knowing queen of house paint's wisdom should have already been spread throughout the kingdom. All Hail the queen of house paint." I know it sounds stupid, but if you say it in an insulting sarcastic manner, she'll feel stupid and annoyed no matter what you say. And just keep going with what you said before. Like if she says, "Well, it's common sense." i would follow with, "Common sense to the queen of house paint" It may not mean much, but it'll take her opinion of her superiority down a natch or two. Yeah, I hate people who belittle others like that.

Being best friends with someone you just broke up with is nearly impossible. It makes it hard to get over each other and find closure. You can talk to him, tell him how you feel. If he's growing distant now, you've got nothing to lose. there's a few reasons why he could be doing this, and it might not have anything to do with you. you could try asking him why he seems distant lately.

YES, GO SEE A DOCTOR! A one-inch splinter, Ouch. Anytime one of your testicles swell up, you should see a doctor. it could be a number of things, like testiular cancer, which can eventually kill you. The cancer would eventually spread to your other testicle, afterwhich they would have to remove both, and there is still a chance you could die. Please go see a doctor.

Sometimes everything in life seems great.

Well, you should stop cutting yourself, even though the chances of you cutting too deep are slim. You seem pretty normal to me. Not being able to find happiness in anything you do is a sign of depression though. People always suggest exercising, I don't know about you but I hate exercising with a passion. Clearly you're going through troubled times, and all I can think of to tell you is to try something you've never tried before. I would be able to help more if I knew specifically what was bothering you.

Please take him to the vet. Yes, it does sound like he has arthritis. How old is the poor thing? The best thing you can do is tattempt to make him more comfortable, pay extra attention to him, he definitely needs some help.

I, regretfully, was exactly like your child at his age. My mother gave out the harshest punishments, and I eventually gave up. She even bit me once. I'm not saying you should bite your child, I'm merely suggesting you increase the harshness of your punishments. It's just a suggestion, I'm not sure how your child will react. He may have a negative reaction to negative reinforcement, you could try possitive too. Give him something he wants if he's good all day, or week. But from my experiences, children react more to negative.

It sounds like you have a lot of problems. I'm not sure what to tell you about your mother's and sister's greed, or the fact that you're uncle is in jail. And I don't think you're dad needs permition to marry someone else, but it's inconsiderate to not at least tell you. And I wasn't there to see whether or not your mother's friends husband tried to touch you, but if you think he did, I suggest telling someone so the situation doesn't come up again. I hope things get better for you. I guess you can look at it this way, they can't get much worse.

Well, if he gets people to make fun of you for liking him, it doesn't say much about him. If you feel you absolutely have to have a boyfriend, ask one out. I would recomend doing it in person if you really want the true answer. If you get a friend to do it, they'll say no for the same reason you're afraid to ask them out. You'll feel different in time. And someone turning you down is painful, but it's not the end of the world.

Don't kiss any boy. That can have disastrous consequences. Guys don't like to be kissed by girls out of the blue, unless they like them. Make sure the boy likes you. You can usually tell, there are signs. One is if he studders around you, unless he's got a speech impediment to begin with. Another is if he takes a second glance; if he looks, looks away, then looks at you again. Any others are too risky, like if he makes fun of you, or if he can't look straight at you. If you can wait until Christmas, I know that sounds like waiting forever, you can use a mistle toe. Or you can get a date, but it may be to late now if the dance is Friday.
