I'm 14 and I'm one of 3 people in my grade that doesn't have a cell phone. I'm constantly out with my friends and they don't like me to call home on their phones cus it uses there minutes. *They didn't mind at first but when I have to constantly call home they got frusterated* My parents want me to call all the time when I'm out. I've tried explaining to them all the reasons why I need one, Like how they want me to call home and all that but they still say you dont get one till your 16 like your brothers. Well, im not my brothers, im more responsible, but i tried to tell my parents that and they wont believe me!
What should I do?

You have to convince them that you are responsible. Do chores without them asking, keep your room clean, be responsible with any money you have, and so on. Make sure you don't keep asking and asking for a cell phone also; just let them think about it for a while. Good luck.

My boyfriend and I are going to seperate schools next year and I think its going to be hard to stay in touch alot but we both really want to stay together because we love each other alot.. does anyone have any tips that will keep us from drifting apart?

Try and plan lots of times you can get together. Go to the mall, go to the movies, hang out at each others houses.

I have definitely been in that position before. The best thing to do is to stop thinking about him so much. Start getting involved in other activities, and it wouldn't help to start getting to know another guy who really likes you better. Knowing that you can get better and deserve better really helped me. What's the point in wasting your time?

OK so there's thig guy I like. I've liked him for like3 or 4 years. Now he met this girl whos like completley gorgeous and they make out and stuff like all the time. I think he might like her. I think he knows I like him, but what do I do?

I'd just forget about him for now. Yeah, it'll be a hard thing to do, but if he's interested in someone else, there's virtually no point in getting involved right now. You can't really make someone like you, it has to happen on its own.

Me and my boyfriend went to the movies last week. Just me and him.

He probably expected a little more to happen when you went to his house. Maybe you should talk with him and see what's up. If he keeps on pressuring you or just talking about it, then definitely dump him, because that means he's just using you. But if he really cares about you, he should respect your decision. Do "twists", which are side crunches. Just twist to one side as you do a crunch. It's helpful to do 3 sets of 10 on each side.

okay. i need to talk to someone and none of my friends can really help. my parents are divorced and i dont see my dad very often. i live with my mother who is an alcoholic and gets pissed off easliy. today my brother and mom got into a huge fight. she is now gone, i mean she just left. i called her and she said that she just needed to be alone. she hasnt returned yet, and i dont know what to do. i am only 14 and my brother 11. she is most likely going to come home incredibly drunk and when she is drunk life just sucks... i dont know what to do anymore because i am just sick of it. this isnt the first time she has just left......

Is there anyone else who lives near you that you can stay with for the time being? You don't deserve to be around such an environment, and your mom needs to know that.

i want to dye some of my hair with this "Loreal Color Pulse", I need to know the price. has anyone ever used it? and does it work good? and i need the price of it at a local Walgreens Or CVS cuz i want to buy it but im not sure how much it is.thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used it before, and I wasn't very impressed with the results. I dyed it using the Iced Coffee, and it didn't turn out very well. It turned my hair kind of orangey. It might've been because my hair was still a little highlighted from the year before. So don't use it if your hair has been dyed or highlighted before. By all means, it is cheap and isn't permanent, so it's worth a try. If you don't like the results, you can just wash it out in 7-10 washes.
At Walgreens, it is around $5.49.

I have a friend but the thing is i don't like her as a friend any more because she is very mean and controling. she still thinks we're friends even though i haven't talked to her in months. she called me and asked me to go to her birthday party how do i tell her that i don't want to go without hurting her feelings? also it is a sleep over thing and i said i could sleep over because of something the next day which is true but she still wants me to go for a few hours the first day! please help i don't want to hurt her feelings!!

what are some good hair straighteners that won't really damage your hair alot

Straightening your hair will of course damage it. The best types of straighteners to get are ceramic ones with gold plates. I use a Revlon straightener, and I personally like it very much, and my friends would agree. It was around $20 at Wal-Mart.

i think i have artheritis in my arm. what sign should i be aware of. i know that its something to do with the joints and thats were the pain is..it happens anytime i lift something or add a little pressure to it. am a too young to have artheritis?? 13//totally FEMALE

The best thing to do is go see a doctor. They'll really be able to determine what's wrong.

I am 17 years old and last july 28th 2004 i started going out with this boy, after like a month I broke up with him bc i didnt think that i liked him anymore. Now, like a year later all i do is think about him, and when i talk to him i get butterflies, but yet at the same time, i look at him and think im over him, it's really confusing. You could talk to him, and just tell him how you feel. You have to realize though that nothing may happen because he has a girlfriend and the decision of going out again really comes down to him. Hmm.. Are you willing to go through a relationship with someone who already fooled around with a girl? Don't jump to conclusions regarding his ex-girlfriend just yet.

im a columnist..im not obsessed over ratings but im just wondering why is it when i get 3 5's as a rating in a row, my rating doesnt always go up? but if i ever get a 4...or a rare 3...my rating always goes down?
anyone else have the same problem?

It has to do with averages. If you get 3 5s and you average them out, it's 5+5+5= 15 divided by 3, which equals 5. If you get a 4, your average is going to go down, because it's not consistent and is lower than a 5.
It's like in school.. If you get 3 100s, your grade is not going to become higher than a 100.. It's going to be a 100.
