It has to do with averages. If you get 3 5s and you average them out, it's 5+5+5= 15 divided by 3, which equals 5. If you get a 4, your average is going to go down, because it's not consistent and is lower than a 5.
It's like in school.. If you get 3 100s, your grade is not going to become higher than a 100.. It's going to be a 100. ]
It's not a problem it's normal to your site of computer they make sure that you can't see directly into your ratings but as for me and everyone else we can see exactly your true ratings the actually owner of the ratings can't see they're ratings they'll have to keep track of it.

who cares what ur rating is. u shouldnt need a amount of stars colored in to kno that you helped someone. ]
I am having the same problem with this issue. And I wish I could enlighten you a little on what's going on with it, but I'm confused now more than ever. I noticed that my AVERAGE rating is 4.88. I have seven 5 ratings, and one 4.
To get the average of this it would be 5+5+5+5+5+5+5+4 and then take the sum divided by 8. The average then is 5.5
The average ratings really don't make much sence, and again I'm sorry I couldn't give you much help.

It's actually not a problem, per se. It's because your (and everybody else's) rating is based off of an average. If you have 9 ratings that are all a 4, a single 5 rating will bring you up to a 4.1. If instead you receive a 1 as your 10th rating, you will drop to 3.7. Here's how (it's math, but it's the only way to really explain it):
Your average rating is the total of all of your ratings divided by the number of ratings. So if you have 9 4's, it's 4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4=36 then divided by 9 (36 / 9 = 4). Getting that extra 5 makes the total of your ratings for to 41, but the number of ratings goes to 10. 41 / 10 = 4.1. However, getting that extra 1 means the total of your ratings goes up to 37, but your number of ratings still goes up to 10. 37 / 10 = 3.7. ]
ughh i have the exact same prob.. i just got 5 5's in a row and it stayed the same.. then i got another one and it went up one point! ughh..it drives me crazy too! but i think it's because once you get like 4 it brings it down and a lot of 5's needs to bring it up or something! hope i helped! ]
