If you've only been dating for a week, it shouldn't be that nasty of a breakup. You should just tell him that you loved it when you were friends and that you thought it could maybe be more than that, but you just don't feel the "spark" (like you said). Don't let it drag on any longer, because that'll just make things harder and more painful and decrease the chances of you two remaining friends. Then right after you end it with him, the next time you see him, don't completely ignore the fact that you dated, maybe even joke about it a little, but just act like you did before you were dating. This'll make it a lot less awkward for him and yourself.

Someone told me that dieting wont help you lose weight. IF i eat a salad for lunch everyday, will i lose weight? OR do i have to do other stuff too?
Of course dieting helps you lose weight!!! Maybe what they meant was that you also have to exercise. I mean, if you replace a fatty lunch with a salad everyday, then yeah, you'll probably still lose some weight, just maybe not as quickly as if you were exercising also. You could try doing about 100 crunches every other night, running, bicycling, stuff like that...Or if you're really determined to get in really good shape, you could sign up for ab labs and stuff at a local gym or for a yoga or kickboxing class somewhere. ....Oh, and another thing!: If you're gonna' do the salad thing for lunch everyday, either don't use dressing, or use fat-free dressing, cuz' that stuff is LOADED with fat and calories! It's just as bad as eating a thing of french fries.

Gosh, well, if you've already talked to him about it and he doesn't care, I guess the only thing to do would be to let him get hurt by her (which sounds like what is going to happen) and then be there for him afterward. You don't have to be all like, "See? I told you so..." but just...be there for him and be the best friend that you are.

Yeah, he might just be scared a little or just doesn't want to rush anything, which is smart of him. As far as kissing goes, you should probably feel lucky that you're the first girl he's ever kissed. I mean, you don't have to think, "Agh, in a way, I'm making out with all of his other ex girlfriends..." And I think you should just let him "practice" kissing you. Don't say anything or tell him he's a horrible kisser. He'll get better. You want to keep this guy around, because he sounds like a good one!!!

Alright, first off, you're thirteen and you think you've met "the one." Are you sure??? Because that's awfully young. I mean, I know you probably really like this guy and can totally imagine yourself marrying him and traveling the world with him and having his kids and all that, because I used to be the same way. I thought every boyfriend I had would last forever. But really, you're most likely just setting yourself up for heartbreak.
But now for your question...
You need to do what you feel is right. I mean, you won't get pregnant by getting fingered (even though you could get some sort of nasty disease or infection, because think about it. Someone's nasty hand is going all in your.....). But, when your relationship with this guy ends, it could still leave you feeling really violated and ashamed of yourself. Keep that in mind. So, it's really up to you and what you feel okay doing. Just think about whether or not you're gonna' have a guilty conscience if you don't listen to your mom and go ahead and do it. Why don't you ask some of his friends at church where he's been? You don't have to make it seem obvious that you like him or anything. You can just be talking to them casually and then say something like, "Hey, where's your friend _____ been? I haven't seen him at church in a while." Or if you're feeling really gutsy, you could always ask one of them for his # or AIM!!! That would definitely make it seem like you like him though, and I don't know if you'd want that. I like this guy, hes my friend, and I wanna know if he likes me back. I wanna kind of ask him out, but not REALLY ask him out.. Like i wanna give him hints and see if maybe he will ask me out or something. I'm afraid that if he finds out I like him or if I ask him out and he rejects me, then things will be akward between us and our friendship will be different. And I couldn't stand it if I wasn't able to talk to him afterwards. The best way to do it is to just casually talk to him as a friend and get to know him better. You don't necessarily have to flirt with a guy to get him feel a connection with you. Also, follow your gut as far as asking him out goes. If you start getting the feeling that he's into you, go for it. If not, just keep talking to him and being friends. Or what you could do is NOT ask him out yourself and wait for him to make the first move (If you want the truth, that's probably what I'd do, because I'm shy too.). Good luck, chickadee!

I just got braces a few weeks ago and I have to get them tightened for the first time on February 1.. I was just wondering.. When you get them tightened, does it hurt as much as it does when you first get your braces on? Do you have to like eat soup and stuff again for a few days after you get them tightened? Another question.. My ortho showed me this special way to floss, but it's such a hassle. It takes forever to floss, and it's really complicated. Do most people floss when they have braces? Or is it okay if I don't floss.. and just brush my teeth really well? Thanks.. I'll rate HiGh!
When you get them tightened, it doesn't hurt as much as when you first get them on, but it does make your mouth feel really sensitive, and you'll probably have a hard time eating hard food for the next couple days. That's how it was for me. And as far as flossing, I totally know what you mean. To be honest, I only flossed about once a week when I had braces because it was such a pain in the neck. I just used a good mouthwash every night, and I seemed to be fine. My orthodontist never mentioned anything about it, so I guess it was okay. I think you'd be fine doing the same thing. Good luck!

You have to put into consideration that 8th grade and 10th grade IS a big age difference dating-wise, especially since you're at different schools. I think that if he were really truly into you, he would make more of an effort to see you. It sounds like you're pretty much setting yourself up for heartbreak by continuing this relationship. Yeah, I'm the same way. I'm a great student at school, but when I get home, it's like, "Okay! Enough! I'm not doing this!" And lately I've been thinking about getting a little study group together, because most of my friends are really good students too. And it seems like that would really help you also. I think a little peer pressure would be good in this situation.
