i will only rate if you are completely honest.
and be honest because i am trying to lose 10 pounds and i need to know if it's worth it (link)

You are not fat.
Feel free to exercise if you want to build up muscle tone or lower your heart rate, but you don't need to lose any weight. I honestly don't see where you intend to lose ten pounds from.

My friend has tried to kill herself many times because she thinks shes ugly. I tell her shes beautiful but she won't believe me. People make fun of her and say shes ugly, but I told her its just because they are JEALOUS. I feel if I post a picture of her on here, and I want to know if you guys really think shes ugly. Honestly, I think shes really pretty but she thinks I'm just saying that. Do you think she's pretty? http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=21583599&imageID=983295681&MyToken=72866b2d-41b3-4a0f-89b8-e84a24a369a8 I'd mostly like guys to answer this because most of the time she tries to kill herself is over guys, but girls can give there opinion too. I need a lot of answers so I'm going to rate everyone who answers. She wants me to help her change her appearence so if you think anything needs to be changed like her hair or whatever just tell me, and I will try to help her. I don't want her to die, so please answer as soon as you can! (link)
|
I was able to see the picture, but I'm not going to say what my opinion is, because it's irrelevant. She has bigger issues than her self-image.
You say she's tried to kill herself "many times". Here's the truth: she's not trying to kill herself, she's trying to make it look like she is. If she were really trying, she would have succeeded. It's not that difficult a thing to do. Heck, I can look around the room that I'm in and pick out at least twelve different foolproof ways to off myself.
The biggest danger is that she may inadvertantly succeed, and so this habit needs to be broken. It's a damned stupid way to try to get attention, and unfortunately, your well-intentioned efforts are part of the problem, not part of the solution. By giving her this kind of superficial attention (total strangers complimenting her picture on the internet), you are validating her tactics and giving her what amounts to a short-term fix.
This girl doesn't need a makeover; she needs an intervention. She needs those who love her to gather around her and say that enough is enough. She needs to stop these melodramatic tactics before they actually work. She needs professional counseling.
Don't delay - the next time she stages her own demise, she might accidentally go through with it.

I don't feel the same way about my boyfriend anymore. In fact, I feel that its time that we ended our relationship. There seems to be a catch, however. We haven't seen each other much this summer, but we do talk on the phone almost every night. I don't know if its appropriate to end the relationship now, or wait a couple of weeks until school starts and we see each other every day again. What should I do? Wait it out, or say whats on my mind? (link)
|
If one must pull a tooth, it is mistaken kindness to do it slowly.
End it now. Start off the school year with a clean slate. But tell him in person, not over the phone. It'll probably be harder that way, but it's more respectful. And who knows? Maybe he's ready to end it too.

i was just wondering if having sexual intercourse "feel" the same as masterbating?
is it better or worse?
thanks (link)
|
This is going to sound obvious, but the difference is that there's another person there. It creates a dynamic, and allows for interaction. You're not in sole control of the situation. There are surprises, discoveries, and shared pleasures.
There are physical advantages, of course. Most people are incapable of giving themselves oral sex, for instance (those that can tend to not leave the house much). It is absolutely impossible to whisper eroticly into your own ear.
And there are emotional benefits. Masturbation is all about the physical feeling, while sex is also about intimacy and a dropping of barriers. Masturbation is an inherently selfish act; sex is about sharing with another person.
The actual climax is different as well, mostly in terms of the afterglow. When one jerks off, one finishes, turns off the movie (or put away the magazine, or whatever), throws the tube sock in the laundry, and that's it. With sex, the other person is still there with you, and it doesn't end with the orgasm.
All that having been said... there are actually times when masturbation is, indeed, "better". This is for a few reasons. First, one is in total control. Second, one can fantasize about anything, including really impossible things that one just can't do with real people. Third, it's effortless - there's no need to get in the mood, light candles, go out for an expensive dinner, etc. Think of it this way: even if you had a personal gourmet chef, every once in a while you'd have a craving for popcorn.
Overall, though, sex is better. If it weren't, there probably wouldn't be any future generations.

What the heck is a pube? I hear people use the word in jokes alot, someone tell me what it is pleasssse! (link)

How many people are in a standard poker game?
And is it adjustable? (link)
|
Poker can be played several different ways.
A game of five-card draw can have up to six players. This limit is imposed by the number of cards in a deck. Remember that you can discard up to three cards, or four if you hold an Ace. Therefore, if you have six players and they all draw the maximum possible number:
Player 1 starts with five cards (including an ace) and draws four. Total: 9.
Player two does the same. Total: 18
Player three does the same. Total: 27
Player four does the same. Total: 36
That's all four aces, so player five can only draw a maximum of three. Total: 44
Player six does the same as player five. Total: 52.
For this reason, most other poker games are also limited to six players, but they don't need to be. A game of seven-card stud can theoretically have seven players; five-card stud can accomodate ten. Texas Hold 'em can have as many as twenty-two (probably one of the reasons it's so popular).

Well, My mother is trying to read my mind. She sets me up without "knowing" and then says im doing it because (some weird hatful things im doing) and it`s making think shes nuts. She is crazy tho. I could get her put away in a M.H.
But, I have sleeping problems. I have this annoying ring in my ears. But it goes away with white noise(or any noise) but a fan puts me asleep with ease. So i get home for being on my own, after all my shit was stole. And i ask for a fan, she says i have a fan. The ceiling fan i have is the most annoy! Its quite, I have to sleep on my back(which i almost never do, like 1-50) Cuz if i turn my head the ringin in my ear is there.I almost died cuz i was so sick of sleepin on my back i slept face down with a pillow on my forehead so i could have air, i wake up coughin to death drownin in my own drool!!! On my back my whole mouth is dry, it takes me hours to fall alseep. And i have to be tired. Like missin a good amount of sleep. Im missing so much sleep i keep seeing things, plus im really paranoid. Im now missing over 40 hours. I tell this to her she flips out and thinks im lying. Im a Buddhist so im not lying, i cant! And she hates the fact im Buddhist when she has no religion. What can i say for her to shut her trap and listen for more then 30secs. And i tell her this and she says im not doing this, but im doing some complex plan to make her mad or something? So help! (link)
|
A small fan costs five dollars. Go get one and get some sleep. After you've caught up on some of those 40 hours, perhaps the hallucinations will go away and you can start solving some problems.

My best friend is an every sunday, church and really religious parents, and i took her to a party and she met a guy. She has only told me her secret, but she has already missed two periods! She might be pregnant and she really needs to tell her parents, but she is so afraid of how they react. If she is pregnant, she wants to keep the baby, she doesn't beleive in abortion or adoption, but she is afraid her parents will make sure she gets rid or the baby.
PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND AND I!!! (link)
|
Step one: She must confirm, beyond doubt, whether she is pregnant.
Step two: If she is pregnant, she must own up to it. Sex has consequences, and she must now deal with them.
Since she is part of a religious family, she might consider going to her minister first. He will keep her confidence; it is his duty to God. He will also strenuously insist that the right thing to do is to tell her parents, and he will point out (rightfully) that she won't be able to keep this a secret for long. She can ask him to be there when she does tell her parents, if she is afraid of how they will react.
I suggest that she reconsider her stance on adoption. You don't mention her age, but I assume that she is a minor or her parents wouldn't be as much of an issue. She is therefore not prepared to raise a child. Adoption is not an evil thing; it is a means whereby she can ensure that her child doesn't have to suffer for her mistakes. It is a responsible choice.
Incidentally, she also has a responsibility to tell the father. It's his child too.

My best friend (who is 15) is dating my younger brother (who is also 15). Sometimes I feel left out because I'm 18... But I just found out that my brother had sex with her. I really don't know what to say. We are a Christian family. I should tell my parents, probably. I just don't know what to do. What if my best friend gets mad at me? (link)
|
You can't do very much in this situation that will have a good practical effect, unfortunately. You can let them know that you think their new relationship a bad idea; they probably won't care, but go ahead and say it anyway. Make sure they understand that you have no intention of running interference for them, that you won't help them cover anything up or keep secrets, and that you won't lie for them. Tell them that if your parents ask you directly whether they are having sex, you will say, "I believe they are." (Unless you've actually caught them in the act, that's all it is - a belief.)
As to whether you go out of your way to tell your parents, that depends on circumstances. Was this a one-time event, or is it an ongoing thing? If it happened just once, then whatever damage from it is done and telling your parents won't help anything. If I were you, I would make it clear to them that what's past is past, but if their behavior continues you will feel compelled to act in what you feel to be their best interests, and tell your parents about it. Remind them that no method of birth control is foolproof, and that their actions do NOT affect them alone; they may end up affecting an innocent child.
You may lose your friend over this, unfortunately. If it's any consolation, it won't be your fault, but hers for failing to act responsibly (having sex when one is not prepared to deal with possible consequences - for example, a baby - is irresponsible behavior).
Once they reach the age of 18, however, they are then adults and what they do together is no longer anyone else's concern.
|
Well i have this friend who told me that her parents (who my parents are best friends with) hit her and her dad tried to drown her in a pool. What should i do?? we are only 13 and i don't want her to get into trouble and my mom wouldn't beleive me! They already called DSS but that didn't help. (link)
|
Go to a teacher. They are compelled by law to report all cases of suspected child abuse, even if they don't believe it. If your teacher blows it off, go to the school principal.
HOWEVER, make sure it is your friend who reports it, not you. Go along for moral support, but make no accusations of which you do not have first-hand knowledge. It is not impossible that your friend is exaggerating or even making the whole thing up, and you don't want to be caught in the middle of that mess. You can say "my friend told me this happened" or "She looked scared to me", but do not confirm or deny events you did not witness. Remember, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.
I don't know what DSS is; I assume it's some kind of Child Protective Services organization.
This kind of thing can become extremely complicated. Document what you say, when you say it, and who you say it to. Assume that you may one day end up on the witness stand, and prepare to defend yourself and your actions. Your purpose and duty here is to support your friend, but make sure you support and protect yourself as well.
This is a very difficult situation for a 13-year-old to be in. You're going to have to grow up quickly and think like an adult. Good luck to you and your friend.

Hey im getting a new digital camera.
What in your opinion is a really really good quality one? Price is no option.
GRacias! (link)
|
Frankly, if you're willing and able to spend a lot of money for a good digital camera, why are you seeking advice on how to do it on a free advice website where you have no idea whether responders know what they're talking about?
Find some expert opinions. Go out and buy a couple of photography magazines, and read the articles about professional digital cameras. Magazines are always putting out "top ten new cameras" lists. The top-of-the-line cameras out these days have features out the wazoo; imagine what you want your camera to do, and odds are there's one that does it.
Also, you might consider talking to a photographer in your field of interest. If you're into portraits, make an appointment with a professional studio and pay the photographer for a half hour of his time. If you want to do nature photography, find someone who does that.
If money is truly no object, then you may find yourself looking in the $2500-$3000 range for a truly excellent camera. It's probably worth a few bucks up front for you to research and find the best one for your needs.

about three months ago my boyfriends friend took advantige of me (sorry if i spelled that wrong) well i still havent told my well now he's my ex boyfriend now but the point is i havent told him and i really want to but i think he knows and thats why we broke up but i still love him so very much how can i tell him both that i still love him and about his bestfriend please help me (link)
|
I think that you probably should tell your ex about his best friend. However, be prepared for the possibility that (1) he already knows, or (2) he may deny it - in other words, call you a liar.
For both of these reasons, the critical thing to do is NOT TO CONFRONT HIM ALONE. I don't mean to pass judgement on your boyfriend, but the fact is that his best friend has assaulted you, and you know what they say about birds of a feather. Take along someone, preferably more than one someone, who can help you present some strength. Otherwise, there is a very real possibility that your ex-boyfriend is not the guy you think he is, and you could be taken advantage of again.
So, who to bring with you? That brings me to my next point, which is that your ex-boyfriend isn't the only one you should tell. If someone took advantage of you sexually, then there's a word for that, and it's rape. Rape is a crime and should be reported. Furthermore, rapists usually don't stop at one victim. By reporting this, you may save many other girls from this guy.
Who you tell depends in large part on how old you are. If you're a minor, start with your parents. If you're an adult, go to the police.

do guys only find skinny girls with absolutely no fat on them attractive? is just a little bit of fat okay do you think? what else do they find attractive personality and looks? (link)
|
Holding and kissing a girl who's too thin is creepy. It feels like embracing a skeleton. Ick. Given a choice, I would prefer a full-figured woman to an anorexic one any day of the week.
I think that there are two major items that determine what men will find physically attractive about women: Things that enhance femininity, and things that show good health.
Under the first category, we see why men GENERALLY prefer larger breasts and curvy hips, with a narrower waist to accentuate both. This is also why shaved legs are considered attractive - women are naturally less hairy than men, and when they shave their legs it enhances that difference. There are also cultural distinctions, like longer hair and style of dress. Once again, this is all generalization; men find all kinds of things attractive.
Health is shown in things like clear eyes, athletic figure, decent teeth, and that sort of thing. Of course, this goes both ways, and describes what women like about men equally well. Who was more desireable - young, strong Elvis; or old, drugged-out Elvis? There you go.
This is really too general a question. You can't ask "What do Men Like?" any more than you can ask what women like. The best thing to do is to think about what YOU would like for men to find attractive about you, and make that who you are. If you want a man who values an intelligent woman, then get yourself a good education. If you want a man who craves a scupted body, then start working out. Pick more than one thing, because no one wants someone who's obsessive about just one aspect of themselves, but concentrate on the parts that mean the most to you.
In other words: If you build it, they will come.
Just make sure that what you build is YOU. Don't fake it, or you'll be miserable.
|
I know this is kind of a weird question but it's bugging me. Why do guys readjust themselves? Is it normal to feel the urge to often? My boyfriend does it... kind of a lot & isn't very discreet about it. I don't mind it but sometimes it looks like he's itching or grabbing himself. can someone please enlighten me? thank you! (link)
|
Because we can!
But really, it's because of three things: sweat, hair, and erections.
Sweat and hair causes itching, and there's plenty of both going on down there. It doesn't help that men's fashions dictate that the package be kept in very close proximity to the body. If we all wore kilts, there would probably be a lot less adjusting going on.
Then there's the matter of spontaneuous stiffys, which happen on average about three or four times a day for adults, and a lot more often in teenagers. Naturally, an erection will move things around, and more often than not one does not end up in a comfortable position. So, there is a need to shift things into a better spot. That shifting naturally stimulates a few nerve endings, and most guys will take a moment to move things around a little more than might be strictly necessary, perhaps even without realizing it.
Most men try to be a little more discrete about it than your boyfriend, though. If your relationship is on the level where you can comfortably do so, you might mention it to him, because he may not realize he's being quite so public. If he's seriously itching a lot, he might want to consider a change in laundry detergents or soap; he may have a mild allergy or be suffering from dry skin. He might also think about switching from boxers to tighty-whities, or vice versa.

i've noticed that in movies/pictures from like 100 years ago, women had extremely small waists (like 20 inch waists). i was wondering if they were just wearing corsets that made them extra skinny, or if they were just naturally that skinny? because i'm 15/f, 5'3", and my waist is like 28 inches, and my friends are the same. have women evolved that much? (link)
|
100 years ago, having a photograph taken was a much more major event than it is now. People did whatever they could to look as good as possible for the camera, and that included the infamous corset.
Women and men were also generally a little smaller back then, due to less adequate nutrition and inferior medical care.
A 28" waist on a 5'3 inch woman is certainly not large. I'd say it's a little smaller than average, and all other things being equal perfectly healthy. That's actually the same measurements to be found on my wife, and I've always found her to be of beautiful proportions.

(sorry if it's long =/)
15/f
Okayy so I met this boy like a few months ago. We have only hung out like 3 times(not alone with a group)but we always talk online and stuff. Lately I have really started to like him. The other night he was talking to me and asked if I liked anyone. I said yes, and then he asked who. So I just sucked it up and told him it was him, but I would like to hang out more before anyhting happened. He said he felt the same way and I was really happy. But here's the problem, I am normally really shy and about stuff like that. I have never had a boyfriend or a first kiss. So my question is how do i get this like moving along. I want hang out and stuff but im like nervous but excited. I feel really comfortable around him but we havent hung out alone yet. Please help. Any advice is appreciated.(sp?)

Ah, there are so many questions on this site about "how do I tell him I like him?" It's great to see one where you've already done that, and it worked out well.
Try getting together for lunch on your first "alone date". It's fun and nonthreatening, and you can spend some time talking together about things you'll be able to do together, like whether you both like racquetball, or modern art museums, or classic James Bond movies.
I personally think that a great way to initiate a First Kiss would be:
(1) Choose a good moment, like when you reach the fountain in the middle of the outdoor mall or when you're lying on a hill at the park watching the sunset. Make sure it's a setting where you'll be able to concentrate on nothing else; you want to remember this moment for the kiss, not for what was on TV in the background!
(2) Look him in the eyes. A little smile is OK, but don't laugh.
(3) Take a deep breath. This parts your lips slightly, lets him know you're ready, and quiets your racing heart a bit.
(4) Touch him in some way. Put your hands on his chest, touch his cheek, or hold his hands, depending on what feels appropriate.
(5) You've got his attention. Close your eyes, move in slightly, and wait for it.
(6) Discover the phenomenal number of nerve endings to be found in the lips!
Enjoy...

how do you make labels using miscrosoft word?
i know that i can buy the label itslef,
but how do i format it in mircosoft word? (link)
|
You can use the templates, but I always find that they are inevitably just a little bit "off". All printers are a little different, so you really can't make a template that will work universally.
What I do is use tables. I set up a table with cells corresponding to where the labels are on the sheet. First, I make my best guess as to where they will print (measuring the label sheet is a good start; I have a ruler marked in 10ths of an inch). Then, I fill the cells with text, and print a test sheet. If you don't want to print the test on an actual label sheet (they are expensive), then print it on a regular sheet and then hold it and the labels up to the light to see how they line up.
Make adjustments in your margins and the size of the label cells accordingly. It usually takes me 3 tests to get it absolutely perfect, and it's a frustrating process.
Obviously, the bigger the labels you use, the more room you have for error. And if you want to avoid the whole problem, you can buy label sheets that are just one big 8.5 x 11 label, and then cut it up AFTER you print on it.

I'm 15 and in need of a job. The store I want to work at only hires people 16 and older. Should I add a year to my age? what's the worst thing that can happen & could they easily find out? I'm just wondering... thanks! (link)
|
A previous responder mentioned this already: When you are accepted for a job, you nearly always must fill out an I-9 form. This proves that you are legally able to work in the United States (I assume that's where you live; if not, then most countries do have similar laws and forms). Since one of those forms of ID will include your birthdate, you're going to have a hard time faking your age.
In any event, do you really want to start your career with dishonesty? If you need the money so badly, there are ways to work for yourself. You can mow lawns, house-sit or babysit, that sort of thing. It doesn't pay as well or as steadily as a "real" job, but it will look good on your application when you do turn 16.
The number-one quality employers look for is HONESTY. In the end, that will take you a lot farther than the extra year would have.

okay..so im not really good with running long distances without losing my breath..and i know may is far away..but we have a big race at school and i really want to be top 6 for my grade..and i know that if i run and run ill get better and better..but ive been so busy and i can never motivate myself to run!! i have no idea what to do..what are some good ways to make me not run out of breath!! thanks so muchh! :] (link)

Any kind of aerobic exercise can help build up your wind. It doesn't have to be running. I placed an exercise bike in front of the TV, and I made a deal with myself that if I want to watch I have to spend the first 30 minutes pedaling. It's helped a lot, and I'm thinking of upping my time to an hour.

Im getting Dizzy all the time and I dont know why Im not pregnant cause Ive not had sex but I am bout to die cause Im getting dizzy so much (link)
|
You may have an ear infection. Balance is controlled by the inner ear, and if it becomes infected it can seriously mess with you. Migraines can also sometimes manifest themselves with dizziness and nausea.
Dizzy spells can also be a sign of other, more severe medical problems. Please, see a doctor right away.
