Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

okay well there is a chance i could have gotten pregnant yesterday and tuesday and saturday. well i got my period this morning, exactly on schedule and everything. is there a chance i could still be pregnant? i rate 5's

I don't think so, but a teacher told me that it was technically still possible, doesn't make sense to me, but I guess so.

ok i am doing P.E this term and in 3 weeks i have to go swimmin. even when i am on my period. thing is i know that if i wear a tampon it wouldnt matter right? but see my problem is that my mom wont let me. she told me because it will make my cherry pop and it isnt supposed to pop until i am merried.(or so she says) but if i dont dress out and put an effort into swimmin then my grade will go done everyday by a letter grade. so basically (since we got 3 wekks of p.e) it can be possible that get an F and fail P.E completely.. and another thign at my school is that the guys swim wit the girls. there isnt a speration thing.. someone help me.. i dont about sneakin them bc i dont know hoa to use them..

The best way to handle this situation is to have your mom contact the teacher either by a note or by phone call, e-mail is one of the most efficient ways to contact teachers though. Make sure that it is prior to the day you have to swim, if not the teacher may get upset with you. If your teacher is a female then maybe if you talk to her and tell her your mom will call or write if she doesn't believe you (in a polite way). If your teacher still makes you swim then I suggest having a parent calling an administrator of some sort. It's wrong to make someone do something against beliefs. Now if your mom gives in and lets you use the tampon, well then good, but if not she will most likely have to contact the teacher/school.

Hey, this is the same person who asked about the Steeler layout. I went to the site Mackenzie suggested and I made the layout and copied the code in my About Me section. So I clicked Preview, and I really liked it, but there was no Submit button. So I can't get it on my myspace. Is there something I did while creating my profile that could have caused this? Because I took it out, and all of the sudden, the Submit button was back. Then I put it back in, and it was gone again! Please help lol!

Try doing it with the site I offered, pimpmywebpage.com (or just pimpwebpage.com) sorry, I forgot. But use that site to create your background and everything, but you'll have to google search pictures of the steelers and stuff because to get a background you have to URL it. If you just don't like that then you'll have to ask Mackenzie about it because I've used the site she offered you and it worked perfectly for me... sorry I can't help with the actual problem though.

No, of course not! You're just trying to respect your body. I know lots of guys that watch what they eat, or watch their weight, which is pretty much the same thing as changing your diet.

How do I get myspace to be private so only my friends can see it?

If you set your age to 15 or younger (changing the year of birth under basic info under edit profile) then it will automatically become private. I just changed my age back to 15, which I am, and it made it private, I'm going to change it back though, my friends didn't like it.

How old Should a child be when they start dating?

I would say 13 at the youngest. There are so many 11 and 12 year olds dating just because they're in junior high and no longer "elementary school babies". But as long as they're mature enough, then understand how to say no, and the younger they are the younger the guys they go out with. I would never let my 13 year old daughter date a 17 year old guy (though I'm only 15 and don't have kids) Though most people who are married are around 5 years (or more) apart. But I would let my high schooler date another high schooler even if that person were a senior and they were a freshman, as long as I got to know the person they were dating and I trusted that person.
When it comes to dinner and a movie type dating I would say 15 would be an okay age to start dating, but if people want to start dating your child earlier then think about it, if you trust them enough then go ahead and let them. But the serious type dating should be 15. Any, hey mom I want to go to the movies with so and so, yeah, that's fine starting at 13 as long as they're mature. And don't freak out if you son/daughter is kissing his/her boy/girlfriend, it's completely normal, I hate the parents who go all crazy when their child is making out.

But 13 for just movie, holding hands while walking the mall, ya know that kind of dating.

15 for dinner and a movie, going to parties together, stuff like that.

As long as they're mature and trusted then those ages should be fine, just make sure they know the sex talk and stuff like that so they don't go off and do stupid things, but that also doesn't mean that if you catch them making out on the couch that they shouldn't be allowed to see each other. Sometimes making out leads to more, sometimes it doesn't, have faith in your cihld...

If they have an STD then you will get it, if they don't have an STD then you won't get an STD. BUT, you should ask if they have an STD, they might say no to hide that they have one, and/or they might say no because they don't know that they have one, or they might admit to having one. If they do have one it would be smarter not to perform oral sex (or anything sexual) at all, though condoms do protect against STD's, as long as they don't break.

But to answer your question, you can only get an STD from somebody who has an STD.

i recently got the verizon saumsung SCH-a850 cell phone with the text messagin plan where it $5 for unlimited. i was wondering if theres anyway to text message someone who doesn't have a verizon phone like if my friend had a cingular phone would i be able to send her a text message? or is there anyway to do that

Of course, I've never heard of a cell phone that will only let you text people on that plan. Because you have unlimmited text it should be compltely free for you. Usually it will cost money to text people with other companies (like it would cost for a cingular person to text a verizon) if your friend doesn't have unlimmited or at least a certain amount of free texting then it will cost them, but you can still do it, and it's free on your part. Just text them the same way you would text anyone else, enter their number (or find their name in your address book and go to send message) and then do your text. I was told it's free to call and send text to people with the same company/plan thingy (ya know, cingular to cingular, verizon to verizon, etc.) So yes, it's possible, just do it the same way you would text someone with the same as you.

Okay, i started taking birth control pills about a month ago and i just got my first period while being on them.. it says it is supposed to make your cramps not as bad and a lighter period, mine is the complete opposite, i have horrible cramps and a heavier period.. is that bad? And i get like clumps of blood if you know what i mean.. it's weird.. does anyone know? if not i will call my doctor, but i wanted to see if anyone on here could help me out first..

Most likely your body needs to get used to the birth control, but I do have a question or two for you?
What was the birth control prescribed for? Is it for your period, or actual birth control. If it's to help with your period then you'll need to talk to your doctor about how it isn't really helping. If it is for actual birth control than this may just be a side effect, but I'm no doctor, I'm only 15 (though I've taken parenting classes and all that good stuff) but anyway, in my opinion, you should talk with your doctor, make sure this is what is supposed to be happening. None of us were with you at the gyno when you were given this medication, none of us know the side effects and whether or not you are experiencing them or something else that is better/worse. You are better off talking with your gynocologyst though. I know plenty of people on birth control, none of them have ever shared with me if they experienced this though.

If it's for actual birth control, then it could just be the side effects, I still reccommend talking with your doctor to make sure that it isn't too bad that you're experiencing this. I'm pretty sure (though not being a doctor, I'm not positive) that you would get a different kind of "check up" if you wanted birth control for your period. But anyway, it could just be side effects. You can get one from hot topic and pac sun. Neither seem like a place you would think of, but they would have them. Also we have a store in our local mall called RCC or something of the sort, it's a southern store with bunches of cowboy/cowgirl hats, it also has trucker hats. I get mine from John Deere, that have cute pink ones with the tractor on them and everything. I don't know any stores that sell John Deere stuff cheap, my big brother works there so I just have him mail me stuff and I pay him back because he uses his discount.

I have a friend, and whenever I go online, she almost always Instant Messages me. I was cool with it for a while, but no it's just irritating. I've put an away message up, but I always eventually come back. What can I do (It has to be nice)?

Well AIM does have that new feature where you are able to talk to people even though your away message is up. I've had some of the best conversations with people with my away message up :-P. I know that's not your question, but it can be a temporary solution. I have the same problem with this one girl, that is why my away message is constantly up. So what I'm saying can be a temporary solution until other people answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I'm going through the same thing so I don't have the best answer. Maybe you can tell her that you appreciate she wants to talk but it gets kind of irritating when the second you sign on she sends you something. It's okay every once in a while, or if it's mildly important, but if all she wants to do is say "hey, what up" and just chit chat, then to give you a few seconds or to wait for you to IM her first. I know nobody actually talks to their friends that way, which is why I offered the temporary solution. Anyway, I hope you get some help from one of my answers :)!!

and for bold you do < b > TEXT < / b >. Also for the bold one, if you use the letter "i" it will italicize and if you use the lettur "u" it will underline. I'm not sure if and how you could do more than one of the b, u, and/or i.

My friends are seniors so I want to make them a graduation gift, which is a music video type thing. But I need some good music... does anyone have any good suggestions? Hey guys. well i just got my cartillage pierced on my right ear and its only a little stud. Well, i play basketball and we can wear earings during practice as long as there not dangly, but we have a game on wednesday and i just got my piercing done this previous wednesday. do you think it would be ok if i took it out for an hour while i play in the game or will it close up?

It most likely will close up, I've had holes that close up after a year even though I wore the earing for longer than the reccomended period of time. I'll tell you what we had to do in P.E (gym class) back in middle school (junior high) when we aren't allowed to wear piercings. If they are new and you are not able to take them out without them closing then you have to like tape your ear. Put one of those big bandages over it. Usually if it's a stud it's okay. A teacher that I had back in the 7th or 8th grade had a piercing ripped from her ear once, something about a basketball coming towards her and a girl went to grab it but got her ear instead, it was also a dangly one. Usually you're safer with studs. When I played soccer we just had to bandage our ears. Talk to your coach and ask him/her if you can just bandage your ear. If not then ONLY take out the earing when you actually go in to play, if you're sitting on the bench then leave them in!! If you see a lot of playing time well then hopefully it won't close up too bad and you can still poke them through, it might hurt a little bit but it's either that or pierce them all over again!!
