Dear Confused,
You question is a common one, while not all people have STD'S, a lot of people do and many may not know it or may not tell you. You can contract STD's by oral sex, anal sex, or vaginal sex unless a condom is used. And There are small chances you can get an STD anyway, which is why it's important to get tested if you're not sure, or if your partner says they have one. So make sure you always use a condom to protect yourself, and make sure you know how to use it correctly.

haha, i swear some people out there, their crazy. how can you get something from somebody, if they dont have anything?? if you and your partner are both tested for an STD, and you both come out negative for it, then you can have oral sex and not worry about getting an STD. Just make sure that you both know for sure that neither of oyu have an STD,becuase if one of you doesnt think that you have it, & you really do, you can spread it to your partner. and thats not fun=[ hope i helpedd ♥ ]
Well, if everyone has a sexually transmitted disease, what the hell's the point? ]
You will get the STD if the other person has the STD and you don't use any form of protection. Not everyone in existance has and STD, but many people have them and don't realize that they have them, and that's why there are all the "Protection" commercials on TV and the radio... to remind people that getting an STD is a risk. ]
If they don`t have an STD then you won`t get it.. But if they do then most LIKELY you will.. ♥ Dez ]
I understand why you would be confused, it can be confusing with all these people telling us to use protection and such.
You will only get an STD if they have one themselves. If they don't have one, then there's nothing there to pass on to you. However, you should never ever have unprotected sex of any kind until you are 100% sure that your partner is STD free. By 100%, I mean showing you test results from the doctors. ]
Everything said so far is correct. I will give you website though that you can go to for information on STDs. If you check the column on the left side of the web page, there is a chart you can go to that gives symptoms.
Mostly with oral sex, you want to watch for any kind of sores.

If you give someone oral and they don't have an std you can't get it, but if they do yes you can get it. Just make sure the person your with is clean. It doesn't hurt to ask them to get checked before you do it with them. ]
You can only get an STD from someone that has an STD. No, not everyone has them. ]
If they have an STD then you will get it, if they don't have an STD then you won't get an STD. BUT, you should ask if they have an STD, they might say no to hide that they have one, and/or they might say no because they don't know that they have one, or they might admit to having one. If they do have one it would be smarter not to perform oral sex (or anything sexual) at all, though condoms do protect against STD's, as long as they don't break.
But to answer your question, you can only get an STD from somebody who has an STD. ]
No, if they don't have an STD then you won't get one. But, they might have one without you or themselves knowing it. Even more kids these days are having sex and aren't educated about it so they don't know how to protect themselves. That's why it sounds like so many people have a STD. ]
They have to already have an STD. And then there is a significant chance you wont get anything anyway (depending on the STD). The reason people say it like that is to scare you. Not to trivialize STDs because if you get one it wont be a pretty picture, but its not as easy as that. ]
