LM answered Saturday January 7 2006, 12:29 pm: you can text absolutely anyone, but only Verizon phones will be free. I have the same phone as you (I think) and the same plan, and I get 50 free texts to other companies (sprint, Nextel, Cingular, etc.)along with unlimited Verizon texting. So I'd check your bill, it'll be called your text allowance or something like that (Verizon to Verizon will be called UNLIMITED text). hope I helped ♥ [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]

Because you have unlimmited text it should be compltely free for you. Usually it will cost money to text people with other companies (like it would cost for a cingular person to text a verizon) if your friend doesn't have unlimmited or at least a certain amount of free texting then it will cost them, but you can still do it, and it's free on your part.
Just text them the same way you would text anyone else, enter their number (or find their name in your address book and go to send message) and then do your text. I was told it's free to call and send text to people with the same company/plan thingy (ya know, cingular to cingular, verizon to verizon, etc.)
So yes, it's possible, just do it the same way you would text someone with the same as you.
