Hello everyone. I couldn't figure out what category I should put this in, so miscellaneous it is. I guess it's also kind of a jewelry question. One of my jewelry pieces requires me to solder a cabochon to a brass cuff blank. I just want to know if I absolutely have to use flux when soldering. What would be the result if I didn't use flux? The only reason I'm trying to not use it is because I live in the middle of nowhere and I have had extreme difficulty finding a store that would sell flux. By the way, I'm using a soldering iron, not a torch, if that makes any difference. I'm under some time constraints, please help if you can. Thanks!

Ironically my friend had to do this, she didnt use a flux, and it came out fine. I do have to say it would be easier with the torch though:-) but still very do-able haha.

Honestly just be yourself :-). I know everyone wants to hear how trusting you can be every once in a while, but saying it and doing it are two different things. As long as you keep to your word, and stay loyal and caring and trustworthy, she will see that for sure.

Do blood tests usually hurt more than shots? Is there a lot of swelling like when I have had shots in the past? I have to have one done and I am like terrified of it! Help?

I just got a shot yesterday, and got my blood taken this morning! It definitely depends on the needle they use for the blood testing, ask for the butterfly needle which is small, so you will feel less pain. As for the shots, it depends on what shot you get, because I got the guardasil and that hurt haha, but chicken pocks shots dont hurt that much.

Why does it REALLy bother me when guys call me babe or baby?? Like I don't really understand it. I'm okay with like "darling" or "dear" but when it comes to those they really just grind my nerves... can anyone explain this to me? Hahah, just wondering.

I know exactaly how you feel, I get so bothered if a guy calls me baby or babe too. I think it's because it just feels like one of those "crappy" pet names. I hope that makes sense haha. In other words, I feel like guys dont mean anything sincere by it, and its one of those sleazy names. I hate it, I feel like something more romantic and heartfelt is a name like sweetie, or like you had mentioned, darling or dear.

I had the flu shot thursday, yesterday. And I was wondering, if the flu causes you to get sick how long does it usually take, because I'm starting to feel a little nauseated.

I got sick after I had my shot, and I was sick for a couple of days. 3 tops. it might last about a week. If the nauseating feeling doesnt go away after a couple more days, contact your doctor. Good luck :-)

and i'm not exaggerating, there's nothing there- i have hips, started my period, etc. and my chest is completely flat as of a 10-year-olds. im 110 lbs, almost 5'6, and i'm really starting to wonder if i will ever get them. is it possible i'll just stay flat-chested the rest of my life and have the chest of a man? as you can imagine i'm really starting to hate and feel completely self-conscious about my body, even though i wear padded bras, etc. i can't do that my entire life and i'm starting to be really really concerned because i've been waiting for them to grow for about 6 years now (some of my friends started developing as early as age 9.) now every single girl my age has them and as much as people tell me i'm "just a late bloomer" and i "still have time" well guess what? i have a woman's body (hips and all), but absolutely no chest what-so-ever. every. single. girl. i. have. ever. seen. or. met. has. boobs. my. age. not only that, but all other signs of puberty are there. so how can i accept myself like this or continue to wait it out? my mom started developing when she was in junior high, and i'm in TENTH, yes tenth grade. i can't even go swimming because guys and girls will plainly see my non-existant chest and it will be it's completely repulsive. please help if you have any advice at all i would really appreciate it :(

p.s.: (sorry if this is really long), and please don't give me answers if you're gunna say something like "you're only 15 stop being so god damn impatient", it's easy to say coming from someone who's not in my position, believe me. when you're surrounded by people who all have something you don't and are supposed to have, it's a bit destructive on your self esteem.

If it helps Im a month away from being 17 and i barely have anything either. haha its natural and its okay. 15 is really young, on average a lot of girls "bloom" in high school, or college possibly. Dont stress about it, any guy you get will like you for who you are (thats how I think about it!) Buy yourself a good push up bra for now :-)

Okay sweety you are only 14!!! you should not be drinking alcohol, especially as much as you do. Its extremely dangerous! This guy is 3 years older than you, and probably doesnt care about your needs or feelings, all he knows is that you give him what he wants and he wants more. You should really stop partying with alcohol, and get tested. You could be pregnant and/or have an std. You dont know this kid, he could be infected and so can you. Please talk to your parent/guardian about this, its a serious matter. You are so young, you dont need to be partying like this and getting wasted. Please talk to someone you trust (an adult.) This needs to stop.

i bleached my hair about five weeks ago and i'm really sick of it. anyone who is experienced with hair or who has personally done this before, is it too early to dye it back dark?

My friend bleached her hair and after 4 weeks she tried to dye it black but it looked like a deep purple! I would definately wait a couple more weeks, just in case. Also you should start with a brown, and then if that works you can use black over the brown. using straight up black can cause a plumish purpleish color. Good luck!!!

Don't panic, everything will be fine. You could be bisexual, especially because you said you have had crushes on boys. On the contrary, you are who you are, and nobody can change that, not even you. Its 100% okay to be lesbian, it might be shocking at first, even to yourself, but you will accept it. Theres nothing wrong with being lesbian, it just means you prefer girls, thats all. If you ever need to talk, Im here for you :-)

I have to do a paper on a current sports controversy but I can't think of any and I can't find any on google. So what's a current controversy in sports?

Theres this new thing for high school sports teams called pay to play. Its basically for all players, even trying out have to pay different amounts of money to be able to play. for volleyball, its 100 dollars, for hockey, its 300, etc. There are alot of controversies with this new rule, because not only is it alot of money to pay, but there are other fees that you have to pay, such as booster club fees. This is effecting countries! And on top of that, people are complaining. On the other hand, some people are happy because they say it makes for a more competitive team. (because kids that are going out for fun wont want to pay, only commited players will join.)

I am a virgin and not by choice. I'm 17 years old, almost 18 and I can not have sex. I am extremely tight down there. When a guy fingers me or I finger myself, I can only fit one finger in. When a guy does it, it kinda hurts since his finger is bigger than mine. I've tried having sex but it won't fit at all. It even hurts him. I can't even get two fingers in. Ok my story is a little bit long am sorry.
My boyfriend and i broke up in april 18 of 2009. then in may 03 he got with another girl. after that i made them brake up because i didnt liked the fact that he was with another girl. Ok he broke up with her in may29. Then in july 30th he got back with me.He was telling me all this stuff that he cantk with him because i really do love him. Then now in agust 1 he left to the dominican republic.Just 2 days ago i found out he has another live without me and sooo on.I whent bacgirl ovethere. at fisrt i thought his friend were just kidding but then i saw some pictures of him huggind with the girl and too closed together.there is another one with them in the pool together.right now he doesnt know that i know he has another girl. he is coming back on sunday. i dont want to call him and insult him because then he will end up staying ovethere,and i will be debastated.If you were in this position what will you do??

Seems as of lately when I access that webpage, I get "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." I've deleted my cookies and restarted my computer over a dozen times. It's frustrating. I don't want to have to switch to IE at all. Does anyone have any solutions to the problem?

steps:

1. press on start menu

2. type in restore in search box

3. Press on restore system

4. Press on the date before the firefox started taking effect

I have this guy friend that I've had a crush on for forever. I finally told him two or three weeks ago and he handled it surprisingly well. I figured that we would get past it and nothing more would really be said about it since he wasn't interested in me back like that.

Well, the end of last week got really weird. He has been calling me a little more lately but last week he started to sound more and more, well, sexual to me. I mean, he started making comments to me about my body and how I take care of my figure. He even went as far as to say how he had...er...dreams of me sometimes.

I didn't want him to not be my friend any more so I just shrugged the comments off like they didn't effect me at all. Today though was a different story and I can't really just ignore it. I see that my harmless, "I have a huge crush on you!" confession is being taken as a hook-up request.

Today he calls and says he's been thinking and that we could really be great in a friends with benefits type of relationship. He started to tell me how I would be really happy and fulfilled and he would be happy to please me. It got really creepy and I just kind of lied and said my mom needed me and to call me later and I hung up.

How do I tell him that I just don't want to be friends with benefits? I'm not that type of girl. Yes, I like him but I don't want to be used, you know? I feel like I made a huge mistake and have ruined what a great friendship we had simply because I told him I had a crush on him. What do I do? Can my friendship be salvaged? Do I just tell him to lay off with the sexual stuff because I am not interested in that? Ugh, I feel so stupid...

Dont feel stupid at all, I know how you feel, Im not that kind of girl either. All you have to say to him is something like:

"Youre really cute and all but Im saving up for that special guy (laugh) :-) "

or


"Thats really sweet that you compliment me and think Im cute but Im not really into the benefits thing, we should just stay friends. :-) "

it will work dont worry, just keep using those terms (modified to your style talking) and he will let go. Guys will respect you so much more if they know they cant just use you, good decision! Im proud of you and I dont even know you that well :-)
