The answer is simple.

You have sex, you can get pregnant.

Using protection reduces the risk of getting pregnant, unprotected sex is a higher chance of getting pregnant.

I was recently dating a guy I thought I really clicked with. He talked about our future on several occasions, and he really seemed to be interested in me (like I said, we clicked, and not just on my end). He recieved a promotion that requires him to take frequent business trips, though, and he says he can't start a new relationship right now, especially since there might be fights about it and he might ruin what might be in the future. To his credit, I did contact him with concern even when he told me he wouldn't be able to talk (I know for a fact he was quite busy). He also said he didn't want to deprive me of someone who could put in enough time to be a real boyfriend. He also said he's not going anywhere and has kept me posted on major events in his life. So, is he to be believed? Should I get over him? Should I date around and wait (he said it will be super busy for about 7 months)? Should I just wait? I really feel like this is the guy for me, and I'm trying to keep the faith, but I feel obsessive for believing what may be a line. Help?

Hmm..I don't know if my answer will be the best, but I don't like to reject Inbox questions, so I'll attempt to give you an answer.

He sounds like he really wants to keep hold of you - but 7 months is a long time to be away from each other, definently enough time for you and him to become interested in someone else.

I don't suggest "dating around" in the sense of LOOKING for people to date, because it sounds like this relationship could turn out. But if you find someone that you really want to start a relationship with before the other guy comes back, I say go for it. You can't spend your life waiting for something that isn't certain.

On the same note, if you keep a really close relationship, even if its over the phone with the other guy and feel that you guys have kept in contact enough by the time he keeps back, only give this first one up if you find someone that you are just truely head over heels with.

okay so im going to a nickelback concert on tues. and i need to know how 2 wear my hair and what to wear. im about 4 10 muscular, skinny. i have brown curly hair but i straighten it EVERY day..its a little longer than shoulder length and its layered...PLZ HELP!!!

Wear whatever you feel like wearing, because contrary to what it might seem to you, NOBODY will be looking at you, they're looking at the band. Nobody gives a flying playing card what you're wearing, so my only tips are that if you plan on being in the floor area (Because mosh pits don't exist at Nickleback concerts, it'll just be a place to stand instead of sit and to touch a bunch of people that you don't want to touch) just wear something that will keep you cool, socks and shoes that wont get kicked down and or off, and put your hair UP or it will get PULLED and SWEATY.

I had those little rhinestones that you can get from Claire's on my cell phone. Well they started to get old so I tried to peel them all off.

Now the sticky glue stuff that held them on is all over the back of my phone and I can't get it off. I've tried several different things but nothing can get the glue off. Do any of you know how to get it off? Please help, my cell phone looks disgusting noww!

Do NOT use Nail Polish remover or Paint Thinner or anything like that, it will take the PAINT off your phone. There's stuff you can use called GooGone or GooAway that you can find at places like Walmart, Hardware Stores, and Craft Stores. Just look around, you should be able to find it and it will get the glue right off.

Hey, i am currently on medication to help make my pimples go away..it's not working all that great right now though..are there any ways i can make my pimples go away faster in addition to my medication?

If its in addition to medication, I suggest calling your dermatologist, because some topical acne medications can interfere with the medication. I personally use Clearasil lotion stuff and Stridex pads to wash my face before I apply the clearisil. My best answer to you is for you to call your dermatoligist and ask what would be the best course of action.

Hey 16-m. I'm terrible at keeping to a schedule and managing my time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try to manage my time better? I usually have things to do after school, and by the time I get home I have just enough homework to keep me going late into the night. After I look back on the day, I spot out about half an hour at the least I could have saved if I did things differently. Any ideas? ...I used to have a tan line on my wrist from my watch, which might explain why I've been bad at this lately [would getting a new one help?] Will rate - thanks a lot.

To keep yourself organized, I suggest you plan out your day - every day, and write it down. Write down EVERY LITTLE THING - and stick to it. Schedule in a half hour of extra time that you can spread throughout your day as needed if something unexpected comes up. I do suggest you get a watch, you'll be more aware of what time it is and what needs to be done when its right there on your wrist. Good luck!

Ok well I just gauged my ears, theyre 18s I guess? That is what the person said. So I was wondering what that meant? I don't understand the differnce. And also, why are they so small?! Normally they are huge and when I told the guy I wanted to gauge my ears he gave me these. Somebody help I am really confused.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but with ear gauges, you have to start small and work your way up. The next size you should go to to make it larger is a 16, then a 14, 12, and so on. You cannot start out really big as it will tear your ear, so you start small and move your way up, size by size.

what is the best medicine/pills for mentrual pains (im 13 and overweight if that matters)

I get horrible cramps when I'm on my period, and I take Midol and put a rice pillow (Pillow filled with rice instead of stuffing, you can heat it in the microwave and it stays warm for hours) and they usually go away. So I suggest midol and some sort of heat on your abdomen.

should you blow dry your hair before you straighten it er let it dry naturally??

If I blow dry my hair before I straighten it, my hair gets all frizzy and its dry and harder to straighten. Its not good for your hair either, its just more heat that is damaging your hair. I take a shower at night and let it air dry while I sleep and straighten it in the morning. It looks a lot smoother and my hair doesn't get so damaged that way.

okay so i went to the doctor and i have a problem with my knee and have to wear this huge ugly brace over my pants, its big ugly and soo bulky looking. i want to know if people will like point and stare? and will people think its ugly? and is it stupid to be like nervous to wear it in front of people?

It won't be a big deal, people aren't going to say you look dorky, they're going to wonder what happened. If you're still self-concious about it, I suggest wearing it under your pants. I would suppose your doctor told you to wear it over your pants to prevent it from rubbing against your skin. My suggestion would be to find a long sock (Like a soccer sock or something, that come up really high and are thick) and cut the foot out of it, and pull it up over your leg where the brace will be. It may take two of them, overlapping. Then, you can put the brace on over that, and then your pants on over the brace.

I suggest calling your doctor to ask and make sure that is alright, but it should be. :)

Im a girl, so i already know i'll suck more at guitar then guys. But, i'd like to start getting into guitars because music is one of my passions. I have long slender fingers so will that be an advantage when playing guitar? Okay well my question is, i want to play the song "vermilion pt. 2" on guitar, and I think its acoustic. I looked up the tabs. It said acoustic i think. Well anyways i was looking up acoustic guitars on google, and i also looked up electric guitars. And acoustic guitars are ugly! So, whats the difference between acoustic and electric guitars? Electric looks easier, but i dont know much when it comes to guitar. Please let me know as much info as possible, from experience would be even better. Im a beginner (only played like a couple times and sucked). Thanks so much this is something i wanna get into. I'm a girl. There seems to be a double standard against girls playing guitar or bass or drums, and that needs to be thrown away, so you don't need to say that "You'll suck more at guitar than guys" because its not true.

Anydirection, to answer your question, acoustic and electric guitars sound VERY different. "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against is played on an acoustic guitar. Most other rock songs are played on electric, you should be able to tell the difference. Not one is easier than the other, but I started out on an acoustic because you can just pick it up and play it, instead of having to learn about amps, and effect pedals, and the works. The only thing thats going to make you better is to pick up a guitar and practice, practice, practice. Just like with any other instrument, you're not going to learn it overnight.

Any music store should have some, and especially stores like Guitar Center. I have a store called Nottlemanns here that I can get all that from, but I think its just a local thing. Anywho, your typical music store should sell them, usually up by the counter.

does anyone know any music that isnt very popular (preferable alternative, indie type bands) or even singers that really no one knows about, but you think will hit it big in 2006? im looking for brand new artists that no one really knows of!! thanks a ton!

why does everyone look at a teen having a baby like the end of the world for them. i mean i know its hard but I've seen tons of people work through it,and live successful lives. so its a challenge. but worse can happen. i mean if the person can be a good monther and somehow support herself and her child isnt that enough?

If you're still in highschool, I don't care what you say, you do not have the means to support a child. Teenagers generally don't have the mental capacity to handle everything involved with childbirth. The rate of mothers of such a young age dying during pregnancy or the birthing process is much higher than if you were to wait. You need to go to school. If you don't finish highschool, you've barely got a chance to have a decent job. You may say "Well I can get a job after school", no, you can't. Not one that is going to support you and a child and you cannot depend on your parents for that.

Hey guys. well i just got my cartillage pierced on my right ear and its only a little stud. Well, i play basketball and we can wear earings during practice as long as there not dangly, but we have a game on wednesday and i just got my piercing done this previous wednesday. do you think it would be ok if i took it out for an hour while i play in the game or will it close up?

It'll close up. Even if not all the way, it will be extremely painful to put the earring back in. Ask your coach if you can bandage your ear and explain that you just got it peirced and you are unable to take it out. It should be alright, just put some gauze over it and then either some medical or some masking tape. It'll look a little funny, but its worth it to be able to keep your earring.

can you become gay from being sexually abused as a child?

im not gay, im just asking because my sister's gay and she was sexually abused as a child.

If she was sexually abused by a male (Which is usually the case) then it is very likely that she may have a strong fear of males, especially being violated in a sexual manner which is what romance comes down to (most of the time) she has probably changed to prefer women, due to having that phobia of males.

Lately, it seems that no matter what I eat or drink, after a few minutes of doing so, I start feeling extremely nauseous and sometimes I even throw up. It's not voluntary; I don't do it on purpose so I'm not like bulimic or anything. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening?

It was happening around May a few months ago too and I went to the doctor. They ran tests and everything but could find anything wronge medically.

Please keep in mind that no one here is qualified to give you medical diagnosis, doctor or not, online.

But I had the same thing going on about a year or two ago. I was reffered to a gastrointestinal specialist, and they decided to do an endoscopy procedure on me. That is when they put you under anesthesia, and run a small tube (About the width of a drinking straw) down your throat. The tube has a camera on the end, and sometimes various other attachments to collect samples of your esophagus/stomach lining. This makes it so they can see inside your stomach and see whats going on.

It turned out that I had Acid Reflux Disease, but instead of getting heartburn like most others, the acid would stay in my stomach, making the lining of my stomach inflamed and sensitive. Becasuse of that, my stomach was "smaller" and anything that touched the lining of my stomach made me feel sick. I was put on perscription Prilosec, and it got better.

You should ask to see a gastrointestinal specialist, chances are they will decide to do endoscopy to see whats going on. If for some reason you cannot make this appointment because of insurance issues or anything, ask your parents to buy you some Prilosec OTC (Over the counter) to try and see if that makes it any better.
