Lately, it seems that no matter what I eat or drink, after a few minutes of doing so, I start feeling extremely nauseous and sometimes I even throw up. It's not voluntary; I don't do it on purpose so I'm not like bulimic or anything. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening?
It was happening around May a few months ago too and I went to the doctor. They ran tests and everything but could find anything wronge medically.

Heartwhisper answered Monday January 2 2006, 2:18 pm: I would suggest first, that you don't eat on the run or while standing up. Relax each time while you're eating a meal. Also, perhaps you might want to try a digestive enzyme when eating cooked foods... take a vegetable... when it's raw it still has it's enzymes intact, when it's cooked it has none left. So go to a healthfood store or an herb store or natural foods grocery and get some digestive enzymes, but not those papaya ones with all the sugars in them, they don't work well. And if you're consuming meats, digestiv enzymes are almost a must. Did you know when John Wayne died(your parents will know he is) they did an autopsy.... they found 44 pounds of undigested stuff in his digestive and intestinal tracks....hmmmmm, makes one think. Also, if you're not having at least two or three bowel movements a day, you're backed up and you may wish to think about that..... there are others points too, but start here first.... look for a working herbalist in your area, one here in Oregon saved my life, so I know some of them know what they are doing.... also if you have family pets, you may wish to research parasites and their effects on the human body and if you've done antibiotics, for sure look into getting your body's flora balance back by taking some acidolphilus.... just suggestions that I use and am pleased with. But I had the same thing going on about a year or two ago. I was reffered to a gastrointestinal specialist, and they decided to do an endoscopy procedure on me. That is when they put you under anesthesia, and run a small tube (About the width of a drinking straw) down your throat. The tube has a camera on the end, and sometimes various other attachments to collect samples of your esophagus/stomach lining. This makes it so they can see inside your stomach and see whats going on.
It turned out that I had Acid Reflux Disease, but instead of getting heartburn like most others, the acid would stay in my stomach, making the lining of my stomach inflamed and sensitive. Becasuse of that, my stomach was "smaller" and anything that touched the lining of my stomach made me feel sick. I was put on perscription Prilosec, and it got better.
You should ask to see a gastrointestinal specialist, chances are they will decide to do endoscopy to see whats going on. If for some reason you cannot make this appointment because of insurance issues or anything, ask your parents to buy you some Prilosec OTC (Over the counter) to try and see if that makes it any better. MaxwellsSilverHammer answered Tuesday December 27 2005, 11:19 pm: I would suggest you go to a different doctor, a gastrointestinal specialist if you just went to your regular pediatrician last time. They must have missed something, or maybe after all these months something has become more visible/detectable. [ MaxwellsSilverHammer's advice column | Ask MaxwellsSilverHammer A Question ]
