cell phone rhinestones.

Question Posted Saturday January 28 2006, 9:38 pm

I had those little rhinestones that you can get from Claire's on my cell phone. Well they started to get old so I tried to peel them all off.

Now the sticky glue stuff that held them on is all over the back of my phone and I can't get it off. I've tried several different things but nothing can get the glue off. Do any of you know how to get it off? Please help, my cell phone looks disgusting noww!

Try using alchohol preps. My brother got that stickey stuff all over his guitar one time from putting stickers on it. We used Alchohol preps and it came right off.

Do NOT use Nail Polish remover or Paint Thinner or anything like that, it will take the PAINT off your phone. There's stuff you can use called GooGone or GooAway that you can find at places like Walmart, Hardware Stores, and Craft Stores. Just look around, you should be able to find it and it will get the glue right off.

Wart remover.
Goop (that's the name of the product) is the best thing going.

Nail polish remover can help sometimes. I've done this before myself it's a major pain right? I ended up having to pretty much scrape the glue of and fine some Goo type remover to get away the stickyness left behind from the glue. Sorry I don't remember the exact name of the goo remover it has "Goo" in the label though I'm guessing any could work.

Hey,

I don't think regular nail polish would work because you have to make sure its NONACETONE! Because if your phones plastic its probably going to melt it. But you could try "Power Spray" or as I call it "Sprat Power." It works really good. All you have to do is spray some on a paper towl and keep rubbing it on your phone.

There is a wonderful product called GooGone (no joke) that you can buy at most craft supply stores. It's a orange oil that just melts most glue away and then washes off, and it wont damage the plastic or metal like nail polish remover can.

I agree with the others. Nail polish remover works like a charm.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover? That happened to my sisters computer once, like I stuck little stickers all over it & got in loads of trouble, so I tried nail polish remover & it came off. =]
