Shortie8959 answered Saturday January 14 2006, 3:07 pm: Nope, being overweight doesn't matter at all. My mom and I take Motrin IB, and it works really good. You could also use Pamprin, I heard that works good, too. Also try laying down with heating pads, that always makes me feel better! And CHOCOLATE!!!! Lots. Haha. Hope I helped! Feel better hun! ♥ Erin [ Shortie8959's advice column | Ask Shortie8959 A Question ]
DeadMemories answered Saturday January 14 2006, 3:06 pm: I use this ALL the time when I have my period. Its Called "Midol". You can usually find it at your local drug store.
x_mystery answered Saturday January 14 2006, 1:57 pm: I get horrible cramps when I'm on my period, and I take Midol and put a rice pillow (Pillow filled with rice instead of stuffing, you can heat it in the microwave and it stays warm for hours) and they usually go away. So I suggest midol and some sort of heat on your abdomen. [ x_mystery's advice column | Ask x_mystery A Question ]
FunnyCide answered Saturday January 14 2006, 1:52 pm: Well... ironically, the docs say to stay away from caffine - sodas, sports drinks, coffee etc., but Midol has caffine in it. What's up with that?
Pills : Aleve, Ibuprofen, Tylenol. I've never used Midol or Pamprin...
Take a hot bath.
Place a heating pad on the cramping area.
Walk for fifteen minutes or so.
Ride a horse [if you can]. This is my favorite. Not only because I love to ride, and love horses, it really helps the cramps.
Basically, any exercise will help the cramps go away. Swimming is good, but I understand that right now - in the winter - it's probably hard to go swimming... ;-)
Eat warm foods. Not spicy - that doesn't help me, only makes it worse - but warm rice, soup, etc. Fruits and veggies [all the time, of course, but especially now]. Lots and lots and lots of water.
janelle<3 answered Saturday January 14 2006, 12:54 pm: many things can help that.... first you can try walking or running which can help take it away...also a heating pad works...taking a shower....eating soup....but if you want a medicine midol and pamprin seem to work :]
Mackenzie answered Saturday January 14 2006, 12:01 pm: You have many options here: It's well known that regular physical activity helps reduce the cramping in some women, so there's an idea. You could also try taking a warm bath and using aromatherapy. Applying a heating pad on your lower abdomen or back should do wonders. If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by simply filling a sock with rice and heating it in the microwave for a few minutes [must sound silly, but if the cramps get bad enough, it just might be worth it]. Also, many women start taking pills around the clock from the time their cycle starts, until it ends. Any pain killer will do, but I reccommend Ibuprofen, Extra Strength Advil or Midol -- it's also best to take medication will a meal, that way the risk of stomach discomfort is slimmed.
