x_mystery answered Tuesday January 17 2006, 12:37 pm: If its in addition to medication, I suggest calling your dermatologist, because some topical acne medications can interfere with the medication. I personally use Clearasil lotion stuff and Stridex pads to wash my face before I apply the clearisil. My best answer to you is for you to call your dermatoligist and ask what would be the best course of action. [ x_mystery's advice column | Ask x_mystery A Question ]

It's possible that the one you're taking isn't the right one for you. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to find the correct medication for your body.
To help deal with the pimples and keep them from reoccurring, I would start by drinking plenty of water. Your skin needs water to be healthy. I would also suggest eating a healthy diet and supplementing with a good quality multi-vitamin. Some vitamins and minerals are natural skin clearers. I would cut out fried foods and any other foods that make you break out. Try to avoid touching your face as much as possible to cut down on the transfer of oil and dirt. Last, if possible, try going without makeup completely or cutting down as much as you can. Makeup can clog the pores, making the problem worse. I don't know if you're a girl or a boy but if you wear make up get the light green concealer (MAC's is really good) and lightly put it on the red areas on your face. Then cover the green with your regular concealer for better coverage. It won't make you look cakey and gross. I always do that with a light bronzer over it and it helps so much. In terms of getting rid of the zits, just don't skip your meds, wash your face regularly and talk to your dermatologist about Differin or Tazorac, they are topical creams with drying agents. I've used both of them and they help dry up the zits a little faster. [ DirtySchmageggie's advice column | Ask DirtySchmageggie A Question ]
taintedLOVEEx answered Monday January 16 2006, 10:39 pm: OMG makeup makes a lot of pimples. Mostly foundation/coverup because it is all over your face. What I do is I clean my face when I get home from school with warm water so I get all the dirt and makeup off. Then at night I take a shower then use proactiv. This works really well for me so you could try that minus the proactiv if your parents wont buy it. [ taintedLOVEEx's advice column | Ask taintedLOVEEx A Question ]
Basketball3846 answered Monday January 16 2006, 10:16 pm: If you just started on your medication, then it takes some time for your body to get used to it and know what it has to do. In the meantime, drink lots of water and at every chance you get, wash your face with warm water. After time the medicine should kick in and all will be well :) [ Basketball3846's advice column | Ask Basketball3846 A Question ]
