hey...alrite well anyone might be able to answer this one. um well i'm on the bball team at my school and we COULD be really good, but we have a bunch of people who wont play as a team. no one passes the ball, or cares about succeeding. we have lost almost every game so far because of this. what can happen so everybody participates, cares, and starts a "TEAM" i'll rate for good and helpful answers thanks

does anyone have any tips for basketball (like any secrets or anything to use in a game) ? i'm on the school team this season (im a girl just to let you know) and i play foward. so anything would help

1.) Footwork
Most of the game of basketball is about good footwork. But this is especially true when you play in the post. Offensive post moves are usually successful or not because of footwork. Defensive post play is also keyed off of using great footwork. And boxing out and rebounding is, in large part, dependent on having good footwork.

2.) Strength and toughness
Playing down low is a rough game. Most of the time you're in the paint, you'll have bodies draped all over you, people hanging on your arms, or you'll getting bumped on your way up for a shot. That's just the way it is. So you have to play with strength and toughness. Playing in the post is not a place for the weak or timid. But strength isn't just in the size of your shoulders or arms. Strength means playing tough, knowing how to use positioning and leverage, and being aggressive.

3.) Power and quickness
The 3rd secret to dominating the inside game is using power and quickness. Power means exploding up for rebounds or put-back shots. Power means exploding up for a turnaround jumper or baby hook shot.

Quickness means making post moves quick enough to keep your defender off-balance. It means making your offensive move fast, but under control. Quickness means making a quick step towards the basket for good rebounding position, or to cut your opponent off from getting good position.

Great post players use solid footwork, are strong and tough, and make quick, powerful moves inside. Work on integrating these 3 secrets into your game and you'll become an even greater force down low.

yea so im a 15/f i really like basketball & id love to play next year but im so nervous because there are a limited amount of spots! in 7th, 8th, & 9th grade seasons i played post, but because im not exactly the tallest im having to change to guard. im really worried about dribbling & outside shots any one got anything i can practice?!

ok.. I played since kindergarden so I might be able to help and I'm a point..

1.) Practicing the right way means doing things at game speed, and in game-like situations.
Don't go outside and just dribble around at half-speed. That will help you, but not much. Practice at full speed, at game speeds to really make a difference and improve your game.

2.) Work on keeping your head and eyes up while you dribble. Don't look down at the ball. When you're in a game, you want to be able to see your teammates and opponents (in other words, have good court vision), so you need to keep your head up and not look down at the ball.

3.) Also work on staying low to the ground, keeping the dribble low, and having good control in terms of changing direction if and when necessary. And always keep the ball on your fingertips. You get better control and power on your dribble when you keep it on your fingertips.

4.) Work on using both hands, not just your strong hand. If you can only use one hand, you've really limited how effective you can be. Practice dribbling with you off hand so that you can dribble, and drive by a defender using either hand.

5.) Work on your footwork: being a good dribbler means going somewhere with the ball, coming to a good jump-stop, pivoting, and either passing or shooting the ball. Dribbling is a skill that is related to having good footwork (as almost every part of the game is). So work on good two-foot jump-stops, front and back pivots, and changing pace and direction. With a lot of hard work, you'll improve. Easy? No. But the hard work will pay off for you.

6.) Good ball handling skills aren't just important for guards and small forwards. All players should improve their ball handling skills. Even if you're a center or forward that doesn't do as much ball handling as a guard in a game, you still want to be a well rounded player. So even if you dedicate more of your practice time to center or forward-specific drills (offensive post moves, rebounding, etc.), you should still work on developing good dribbling skills. It can only help your game and make you a better all-around player.

truthfully, yeah in always pop my zits or squeeze black heads, who doesnt. well my nose is really dry now and the skin is pealing, part of it pealed so much its beat red and so dry and very bumpy? i dont know how it happened or wut to do

Okay, so here's the story: I left my backpack in my mom's car. She threatened to take it to work the next day (today). She always makes empty threats and never follows through. She bugged me about my backpack, and I told her not to nag me. When people nag me, I tune them out. So I fell asleep and forgot about my backpack. It's with my mom at work, and I can't go to school now becuase I don't have anything and all of my grades would drop for things that I didn't have//couldn't turn in. Do you think it was right for her to take my backpack?

I mean, I know that I should have taken it out of her car. But do you think it was right for her to take it?

She took out half of my other stuff, but she left my backpack.

And it sucks.

ok im 13/f and one of my friends have been "messing around" lately but i wont have sex with him without a condom. the problem is my mother stil thinks im a virgin. i dont know how to get birth control or condoms without my mom finding out. in the area i live in there is only 2 small gas stations around which both carry condoms but i have a feeling my mom would find out about me buying them, i wouldnt be so worried about her finding out if the guy was 16. i have had sex with him before and ended up missing my period for 2 months! are there any ideas on how to get protection?

I lovee my current girlfriend soo much! SHe has been gone for 10 days on vacation with her parents to Canada. Last night I had two friends over. One is an ex who I am still good friends with. The history on us? It was a short 1 month thing. The classic friends giving the 'somethin more than friends' thing a try that didnt go well.
Well me and her were laying on my bed and my friend was next to us. Her body was not close to mine..but i was resting my head close to her and my hand was on her shoulder. I was extremely tired about to fall asleep. Is this cheating in some way to you? I mean i have other friends that are girls who will rest their head on my stomach while playing video games..and it is absolultey nothin romantic about it because we are strictly friends and both have different love interests and 'types.'
My ex thinks it was nothin..but should i tell my gf about this? If she ever found out she would flip out because she is extremely sensitive on the topic of me and my ex. She finds it odd we hang out because we are exes. *keep in mind its not like i hang out alonnne with this girl* I have a big group of friends kind of and we hang out together kind of thing.

I like this guy named Sam. We are pretty good friends. We talk a lot and we get along great. I asked him if he liked anyone yesterday and he doesnt know. So I figured out he only liked me as a friend. He makes me smile soo much. And i want to tell him I like him but hes totally out of my league.
