No, you can't get an infection from leaving a pad in too long. but, you can die from leaving a tampon in for too long. That is called TSS ( Toxic Shock Syndrome )

there is a possibility for both pads and tampons, if you leave a pad on for a legnthy amount of time bacteria multiplys very quickly.

You could get a rash or it could cause acne, but as far as I know it's not going to seriously hurt you. Your period isn't long enough, and you wouldn't be able to use the same pad for an extended amount of time without it leaking anyways. As younggrandma said, tampons are different. I hope I helped and good luck!

If you leave a tampon in and forget about it for a few days you sure can.

Pads, I suppose if you could stand to wear one long enough it would give you an infection.

In either case the smell would be really bad way before you got an infection. So just for personal hygiene reasons you want to change it now and then.

Overnight wear does not cause a problem with either by the way. :)
