ok i run track and i dont wanna brag but i think that im an extremely fast runner... all i do is pump my arms really fast.. the faster you get your arms going the faster you go.. and even if you think your going the fastest you can go your not just lean forward, move your legs as fast as you can and pump your arms really fast... and if you want to you can take longer strides and also push off with your feet each time you take aa step

Hey, I play basketball so i know how you feel, i had to be fast because i was a point guard and the best way to get fast is to keep practice, like do footwork drills and practice when you run, dont let your arms fling everywhere. Also, it helps you move faster if instead of putting ur hands in fists, you put your thumb and middle finger lightly together, lol i no that it sounds dumb but try it. I also have more tips if these work then just kno that i have more.

Love Ya'll,
Vanessa

In order to run fast, you need muscular legs. One of my best friends has the most muscular legs I've ever seen and she's the fastest 400 runner on our track team. To get strong legs, if you happen to horseback ride, ride without stirrups every time you ride. That's what I do! Other than that, just practice!

you need to build up your lungs, you should try something that makes you tired like aerobics or jumproping, but dont over do it, and make sure you stretch out all your muscles before attempting anything physical.

throughout my years on cross coutnry and a top ompetetor on my shool's track team i have some advice for you that has worked for me for years. Improving speed is easily doen, but it takes some time. When you exerise, whih should be everyday for quikest results, you should run long distance. at least a mile and a half a day, but that is the very least. Run one a day. This works beause the musles start to grow and get stronger, also your ardio improves.

First off you may want to go to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

that depends on a lot.

you should breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth while running for like 30 min. you need to start with shorter distances you need to start with short distances then make them longer everday and so forth. Then climb your way up to like 20min. 30min. runs. Be careful as you could give yourself a stress fracture.

Sorry if you dont want that means.. it means -A fracture of bone caused by repeated application of a heavy load, such as the constant pounding on a surface by runners, gymnasts, and dancers.-

Good luck!!! Hope to see you in the olympics running track! ha. im just messing

good luck though!

I totally agree with the person below. Any trainer will infact tell u u must build up ur muscles in order to be a fast runner.

There is this girl in school..who is a national runner she's relly fast and wins all running activites, her last year at school :( and well she trains about 2 hrs a day and stuff. You should do leg exercises and then you can also do some treadmill to make sure you're comfortable with the rate you're running and you don't damage something

ok most people would say "just keep running, take a lap around the block every night" and etc. that would help, yes, but even people like myself dont love running like that.

well i think you should work on your reflexes. you can improve your speed and the way you go for the ball by running to one side of a room and back but each time go a little farther (these are called suicide runs). it helps your reflexes if you push yourself and make every turn quick and fast.

you can build strength in your legs by doing leg exercises. muscle will make you faster.

have fun! =)
