I have the hardest time sleeping at night. This has only been affecting me for about this past week. Before then, I had a regular sleeping pattern.

During the week last week, I'd go to sleep around 9:30 PM then wakeup around 1:00 AM Or 2:00 AM and not be able to go back to sleep.

During the weekend, I couldn't go to sleep until around 4:30 AM then I'd wake up around 2:00 PM.
How can I get back on a regular, healthy sleep routine? Please don't suggest Benadryl, I've tried that already and still no luck.

I actually would not suggest Benadryl or Nyquil because it's very easy to start relying on them to fall asleep and become addicted. Try going to bed and getting up at the same time every day. Completely cut caffeine out of your diet and excercise more than usual. Before going to bed, try doing some yoga, reading a book or taking a hot bath...anything relaxing.

why do American woman believe that "letting it all hang out" is sexy. Isnt modesty just as hot?

I personally think that it is more attractive to be modest because it gives men a reason to respect you, even if they don't get to see your breasts partially exposed in public. A lot of American women believe that it is attractive to "let it all hang out" because they confuse attraction for lust. I think it's gross and skanky.

I stumbled across this site by accident. I seriously doubt many of you have the qualifications to give real people proper advice. After reading some of your responses to people's inquiries i was quite astonished as to how teenagers find they are able to give quality advice and information to real people in need with such little life experience. If you ask me you are not in a place to give your "personal opinion" when people truly believe you are giving them the right answer simply because you claim "people think i give really good advice". (eg. i am still at a loss as to how a 17 year old girl thinks she can give advice to someone regarding conceiving a child) I know you try to come across as a "godsend" to poeple who are in some sort of personal crisis and need a fast easy answer but the truth is, in the cases where it really counts, there rarely is one; at least not from you.

I actually somewhat agree with what you've said here. I once saw a question once asked by a thirty year old man who was in serious debt and was asking for a part time job offer from anyone in his area. And you know what answer he got? It was from a ten year old girl who said "u culd babysit till u get wat u want." Seriously. Oh my GOD. I try to only answer questions to which I have had similar background experience in close proximity...otherwise my answer does not help the asker at all.

what makes pimples or pores reduce size and reduce the red color of it?

Guess what? You can actually pop your pimples and not get scars...if you do it right...haha...so I would suggest popping it and putting lemon juice and/or a zit gel on it.

AND if you do these things, you will most likely not get as much acne as you used to, it works for me!!
Wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed. Use only comodogenic makeup. ALWAYS take your makeup off before you go to bed. Only use an oil-free moisturizer like Aveeno or Clean and Clear has come out with a great one that I've been using. Avoid food like french fries and coca-cola. Drink LOTS of water.

I saw an Above the Influence commercial about people who Slom [It stands for Sticking Leeches on Myself] and it mentioned kids doing it at schools and parties just like smoking or drugs. I was wondering, why do kids do it? What exactly is it? How does it affect them? and where do they get the leeches?

I've never heard of this before so I'm just curious.

Sweetheart, it's like a metaphor...sticking leaches on yourself so they can suck your blood is stupid and gross and they're trying to get the point across that drugs are stupid and gross too.

i really need advice. do you know how to lose weight? especially in my stomach and thighs. whenever i walk my feet are always touching and whenever i sit down, my thighs look like flatout pancakes. are there any tips? i know doing situps or crunches are good, but i seem to not do it coz of my laziness. [lol] im serious i get tired after doing about 20 situps then i stop. are there any food i shud avoid to lose weight? ive heard that if you lose weight and start eating whatever again, youll gain fat back. and that scares me. i wanna be fit and healthy for the rest of my life. pls give advice! and thanks in advance! =]

I have a huge crush and he doesnt feel the same but I really want to be closer friends anyway. He doesnt like going places where he's the only guy so it has to be a group thing. What do you think we should do? I always thought of me having a holiday party and having a sevcret santa and "secretly" giving him me.He also loves the jets so I thought a couple of friends and I could go to the game. I really want something fun that can show him that i'm a fun, cute, sweet girl. Any suggestions?

AS A GROUP (definitely since he hates being the only guy in certain situations): go to a concert, the Jets game like you said, watch a movie or have a TV marathon night, play ghost in the graveyard or capture the flag (or stupud kid-ish stuff like that because it's actually fun even though you're probably older), go shopping, etc. Talk to him a lot and get to know him better when you're hanging out in a group and eventually maybe he'll want to hang out with just you. Don't hang on him or act desperate though, okay? Okay. Good luck and have fun, kiddo.

I got a letter in the mail inviting me to become a People to People student ambassador and go on a trip to China in 2007. It says you have to be invitied to have a chance to be able to go on the trip. I think this is the deal, you go to a meeting and they tell you about it. Then if you decide to go you and your parents go to 6 orientation meetings preparing you for the trip. I just want to know if anyone else has heard of this and is it really and honor to be invited to do this, or is it a scam?? Also what do you think the price range would be for 17 daysin china with this orginization. By the way i'm 13 year old female.

I got the exact same thing. And I was thinking about doing it but it would interfere with my schoolwork (I'm homeschooled). So I can't. But I know it's definitely not a scam because my friend went to China last summer with the same group.

I have this sleeping probelm it's like iam always tired even though I go to bed at 9:00pm and wake up about 6:00am in the morning to get ready for school and even though thats about 9 hours of sleep each night and that's how much sleep iam suppose to get and last night I went to bed at 8:00pm and I was still tired all day at school today and I was wondering why i've been so tired lately what should I do?

Creatively...hmmm. I've heard various stories. Like sometimes people decorate the person they want to ask's locker with a romantic note asking them. One of my sister's friends wrapped himself up in Christmas tree lights and plugged them in, then when the girl he was asking came to the window he said "You light up my life!! Will you go to homecoming with me?" My friend asked his girlfriend by decorating her room in roses and then came out of her closet with a bouquet of roses and asked her. Stuff like that. Be creative.


P.S. You'll probably have to consult with the girl/guy's parents if any of your plans to ask them involve being in their room or surprising them or something. Plan AHEAD because if it's like last second then it probably won't work out and it'll piss her/his parents off too.

Hi. I know how you feel. Lots of things like that are happening all over the world right now with kids our age. We're all going to different schools, on trips, working like crazy...basically, it's September and that means that we're all going our seperate ways once again. It sucks, I know it does. I experienced it for the first time my freshman year in high school when my best friend went off to college. I cried for like two days because I realized this is how it has to be with a lot of my friends pretty much every fall from now on. Because that's when you know you're growing up. Everyone has seperate lives and seperate goals. My ex-boyfriend (...well, actually, it's complicated) is leaving in two weeks to go to Africa for nine months. That's going to (pardon my French) fucking suck when he leaves. One of my best friends went back to school a few weeks ago. A lot of my friends from work that I spent the whole summer with all went back to school and we all go to different schools. Yeah, it stinks. But it's going to happen a lot from now on because everyone is constantly changing. You're going to have to learn how to let people go and take them back. I'd suggest that you focus on your own goals. Hang out with your boyfriend when he's in town for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break. Talk to him on the phone, email him, write him letters. Hang out with your friends that are still here. Just have fun, go to school and enjoy life. You'll get used to so much change and everything will be okay. :)
