K so, I got a new babysitting job this weekend, and I havnt met the kids yet. All I know is that they are a three year old boy and a five year old girl. I have to babysit for about 6 hours, from 11 am to 5 pm. and I'm not sure if they are going to take a nap or not, but I need to try and find some things to do with them. Like I can take them out in the back yard and stuff, but six hours is a long time. Is there anything I can bring to get through the boring parts of the day? Oh, ps, it's supposed to rain, so I kinda doubt I will be able to take them outside for very long.

Kids around this age normally will tell you what they want to do. I babysit for a 6 year old and a 4 year old, and they are always pulling me in different directions wanting me to play with them. Since you haven't met them yet, ask to see their rooms. Kids love to show you their toys, their bed, books, stuff like that. Also, if they have any pets, ask them to introduce you to them as well.
If it doesn't rain, make sure you get them outside for some fresh air. If the youngest does take a nap, have the five year old relax as well. Read some books, have a snack, or watch tv.
As others have suggested, arts and crafts are a great thing to pass time. The kids I sit for LOVE to paint. If you aren't sure what to do for crafts, look online, or you could even just bring a coloring book. They may not want to draw, but at least you have that as a backup.

okay a random question...
im babysitting...both kids are asleep and i do know how to work the TV. anyone have any ides on what i should do?
and i cant use the phone incase someone tries to call...please give me ideas i rate high and i want something to do.
I tend to have babysitting jobs at night now that I'm older and I know exactly what you mean. Watching tv can get really boring.
If you have any homework that you need to do, bring that with you. Also, bring your favorite book. And as others have suggested, eat, watch a movie, go on the computer if you can, or even color. I used to always bring a coloring book with me. Even if I didn't use it, I always had a backup in case the kids were bored.

I get really REALLY bad cramps on the first day of my period. It's just so bad sometimes I don't know how I don't faint from pain. I've thrown up a couple of times when it's been really bad. I was wondering whether taking the Pill would stop these cramps? Or stop them happening so badly...Anyone with experience??? Thanks.
Ah! The same thing happens with me! However, its the day after I first start. I dread this day the most out of the whole week.
I take advil or tylenol and when Im sitting doing my homework or whatever, I use a heating pad.
Also try to avoid caffeine. Ive found that for the first couple days, if I cut out caffeine the cramps arent nearly as bad.
Make sure you drink lots of water, sleep well, and eat good food.

My aount wont pay me for cleaning and watching her baby for 2 1/2 yeas now she owes me like$2500 so far. i talk to my parents and they talk to her but she says that she will or did. but she never has. what should i say to her wih out being rude. and when a friend calls me on my cell and invites me over and i tell her i am leaving in 20 minutes sh says you are not leaving until everything is done. like shes paying me. what should i say.
Stop working for her.
If you had another job, outside of your family and it was the only way that you got money, would you stay at that job? I highly doubt it.
It's not fair that she isnt paying you. You are spending your time helping her watch her baby and clean. You deserve money for that.
She probably thinks that since you are family, she doesnt have to do it. If you are uncomfortable with just quitting, try talking to her first. If she wont listen, you really need to stop working for her.

Iam 17 years old and i babysit my niece and my nephew every saturday from 3:00pm until 10:00pm and all we do is color and watch movies and iam pretty sure they get tired of it sometimes i read them stories but iam running out of ideas.cheyanne(girl is 5)kaligha is 3)and iam running out of activities for them to do please help me.
If its nice outside, take them for a walk, play in the backyard, or go to a park if there is one close.
Kids like crafts. Instead of coloring, try getting some other crafts from off line.
If you babysit for them at their house, tell them to show you their favorite toy and ask them if they would like to play with it.
I babysit for a boy and girl the same ages, and most of the time we just go to their rooms and they play while I watch. I play if they ask me too, but most of the time they like to interact with each other.

So I babysitted for the first time last week. This kids really quiet and all he does is want to play soccer. Well we got really bored after playing sports for a while. Now that I'm babysitting offically for him I dont know how to entertain him.
Does anyone have games to play that involves like running around/being active?
or just games in general? :]
How old is he?
Most of the time the kid has no problems picking out what you should do. Just ask him what he wants to play next. If he's not sure, suggest something like board/card games, hide and seek, or reading. Also, ask to see his room. Ive noticed that when I first start sitting for a family, the kids always enjoy showing me their room.
If you are still stuck for ideas, talk to friends who babysit and ask them what they do to entertain the kids.

Do you have neighbors with young kids?
What I did was make up a flyer that had all my info on it, name, number, age, and I put them in my neighbors mailbox. If you do this, make sure you have your parents OK first.
Also if you are involved in a church, you can pass out some flyers there. Or get involved in the nursery if it has one. Ive gotten many offers from mom's since Ive been working there.
I would also suggest taking a babysitting class to learn the basics in case of emergency, or stuff like that.

I want to dye my hair blonde. Right now, I'm a brunette, and I am SOO scared that I won't like it!!
I was wondering --> If I dye it blonde, and I don't like it, can I just ask the hair dressers to dye it back, or would I have to pay more?
Most of the time, brunettes cant pull off being blonde.
The person below me had a great idea! Try a wig on and see if you like it.
And yea, it will cost you more to have a hair dresser dye it back...they wont just dye it for free. I work at a hair salon, and getting a color done is not cheap.

i have a sony cybershot camera. today, my friend tossed it across the room to my other friend. it bounced on the carpet, then onto hard floor tile. after that, when i tried to turn it on, it would go to the welcome screen that says Cybershot, then Access, but then it would say "Turn the power off and back on again". i did so several times and it still didn't work. I think there's something wrong with the lens (the part that goes in and out( because it's kind of loose and when i try to look at previously taken pictures i can do that - but i can't take any pictures or anything. is there anyway i can fix this on my own? or should i take it back to the store? thanks.
Sounds like what happened to mine. I took it to my neighbors house while I was babysitting (not a good idea, I know) and the middle kid took it from me and when I asked her to give it back, she dodged my arm and ended up dropping it on the hard wood floor. The shutter was jammed out. I couldnt even turn it on.
My mom suggested we take it to a camera place, but I just ended up buying a new one.
I would suggest taking it to a camera place and asking if they could do anything.

im 14 and never had boyfriend. most of my friends have. am I just a loser? I dont mind it much im happy and everything but usually when people find out their just like "OMG YOU NEVER HAD A BOYFRIEND?!" and it just makes me feel pretty dumb. i like this one boy but I know I dont have a chance with him because im not exactly pretty.

My first boyfriend was in 7th grade, and let me tell you...it was a waste of time! Most 7th graders dont know what it takes to have a good relationship.
Don't worry the right boy will come along...you have plenty of time to find one. And as to those people who tease you, dont listen to them! You dont need a boyfriend to function.
And about not having a chance with the guy...how would you know? Every guy likes different girls. Just because you dont think you're pretty doesnt mean he wont.

About a month ago I found out that my boyfriend's mom is pregnant! :) I'm so overjoyed, as is everyone else. At first it was a little secret, so I couldn't tell anyone. My boyfriend finally asked his mom if he could spread the word and she gave him the a-okay. This happened a week ago. I'm no longer happy. Everytime I try to tell my parents she's pregnant I feel sick. Not disgusted, literally sick to my stomach. I also feel embarrassed and ashamed and a bit hateful. Not at all hateful towards the baby or his mom but me. I chicken out. Now my boyfiends starting to get a little annoyed with me, as you can imagine. Just writing this makes me feel sick. I lose my temper a lot when i am babysitting. I am making good money, but this girl is so annoying. I dont get that mean, but I just want to tell her to SHUT UP. I try to be nice and act interested in what she is saying, but she drives me crazy!

Are you a bad babysitter? Absolutely not. I babysit for two boys and I really do not like how they act. They dont listen, they talk back, and they are really boring. When they talk back I want to yell at them.
Whatever you do, dont tell her to shut up because she will repeat it to her mom.

I babysit a one year old and he wont stop crying! The only time he is happy is when I am holding him but after a while I can't because my arms are way too tierd. Any suggestions?
Most likely he is really used to being held. What you need to do is put him down and not pick him back up. If he keeps crying for 5 minutes, then I would say pick him up. While he is on the ground,reassure him that you are there. Get down at his level and try to get him interested in a toy.
My one year old cousin is really used to being held by her mom, she cant even be put down without screaming. And she doesnt have the heart to just walk away and let her play.

I babysit a 3 year old and she makes a lot of messes! After we complete one thing she is already on to another mess before I'm even done cleaning up the first one. Any ideas? Also if you have any fun games to do that wouldnt take long or wouldnt make a mess! that would be great! thanks!
I have the same problem with my neighbors. Tell her before shes done playing with the toy that she needs to clean up after herself. If she doesnt listen to you, tell her that if she wont clean up the next mess, you are going to have to give her a time out. Its not fair that YOU should have to clean up after her messes if she is capable of cleaning them up.

so my school just recently got a pool and a swim team. I joined the swim team beacuse i thought it would be a good work out.
i was just wondering if there are any of peices of equipment i might need, could use...besides the obvious swimsuit, cap and goggles?
Oo a fellow swimmer! Let me just say right now that you are lucky that your school has a pool, mine doesnt!
The necessities? Suit, cap, goggles, towel, flip flops, shampoo, conditioner, hair brush, baby powder to put in your cap, an extra pair of goggles, an extra cap, hair ties, a water bottle, and I cant think of anything else.

I wasn't sure what catagory to put this under. My 8 year old daughter has gotten bubble gum stuck in her beautiful long hair. What can we do to get it out without having to cut any of her pretty locks? Thanks!
My friend got gum on her jeans and her mom told her to freeze them. I would suggest putting ice on her hair for a bit.

what can i do to get rid of my dry skin?
Im a swimmer and during the swim season, my skin gets really dried out from the chlorine. Ive found that Aveeno products work the best. Just find a lotion that is for dry skin and use it every day.

I get my eyebrows threaded, and she takes stuff off the top...
If they throw off the shape of the eyebrow, then they do need to be plucked. And taking hair off the bottom is correct, and in the middle. If you dont know quite what shape you want, have them waxed the first time.
