i'm really into bright colors and matching my make up with my clothes and such.
my question is what are some stores where i can get really cute clothese , i dont want like AE and abercrombie and stores like that im into fashion alot but i cant seem to find any stores around here that have unique clothes. thanks (link)
|
Well I'm not sure if you don't want AE and Abercrombie because they're expensive or because their clothes are toned down in the color department, so I'll put both fashion stores and regular department stores that carry good fashion-
Forever 21- www.forever21.com
This is a great store because it has a lot of unique, bohemian-look clothes that are colorful and pretty. They have a lot of vivid colors that look really nice.
My two favorite department stores are Sears and Kohls. Sears has a great juniors section, and they have a lot of nice, in fashion clothes at a cheaper price. They also have some nice bright colors like hot pinks and deep greens.
Kohls also has a great juniors section, and this place always has something for everyone.

i have naturally curly hair. i always straighten it, but lately it's been a hassle and it's ruining my hair. the only thing i don't like about my hair being curly is it's always so frizzy and the curls are way to small and it makes me look like an idiot. i'd like to have big, SOFT, NON FRIZZY curls. how can i achieve this without damaging my hair more? (link)
|
I would try Pantene Pro-V Hydrating Curls. It moisturizes curly hair so that it doesn't become frizzy any more. There are a lot of the Hydrating Curls products, but I would reccommend-
The Hydrating Curls shampoo
The Hydrating Curls conditioner
and definitely it sounds like this would be the product for you- http://www.pantene.com/en_US/browse-products/collection/hydrating_curls/frizz_control_treatment.jhtml
It's the Pantene Pro-V Frizz Control Treatment, and it defines your curls.
Of course, in case you would like to check out the other curl products from Pantene-
http://www.pantene.com/en_US/browse-products/regimen/curl/index.jhtml
This sounds like all the stuff you will need to tame your curly hair.

does anyone know where i can get patterns for clothes (like for sewing them) online? and don't say google it because i've tried that and haven't found anything. (link)
|
If you want free patterns, I would suggest www.sewing.about.com. This place has tons of patterns that are relatively simple.
Also, one of my fav sites is www.sewing.org. It has a lot of fashion patterns, and they are described very well and they also include pictures.
www.sewtrendy.com doesn't have a lot of patterns, but the ones they have are really nice and fashionable most of the time, because they base their designs on what's in and trendy during the season.

me and my freinds are going to a really really fomal party tonight, i have a black gown im going to wear, andi think they are going to make my hair all curly, but what else should i do, like what sort of jewelry, how should i do my makeup, etc... thanks in advance!! (link)
|
I wouldn't go with the curly hair, because that screams more casual than formal. Here are a few styles that I think would work for your hair-
http://beauty.about.com/od/celebrityhairstyles1/ss/jessica_3.htm is if you're trying to stick with a really formal look.
http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/hairgallery_5.htm is a style that is a looser style that less rigid than the first one. Finally
http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/hairgallery_3.htm
is a style that screams party and fun, but stays in place to make your look seem formal and finished. It looks a little windblown in the photo, but just gently curl it to create the waves and leave them in the back.
For makeup, either play up your eyes or your lips.
If you want to play up your eyes, try a dark purple eyeshadow and use it as an eyeliner and gently line only the top eyelid. then take a translucent lavender and color your lids in with that to open your eyes up but at the same time creating dark, lush lashes. Wear a neutral lipgloss with that.
To play up your lips, choose a lush color like a dark red or a pink shade and set a shiny lipgloss over it. Wear a shade of eyeshadow with a bit of sparkle but the same shade as your skin.

How do you ruch fabric? What does "ruch" mean? (link)
|
You're probably desperate for a good answer, eh?
Well, ruching a fabric involves taking elastic or ribbon and stitching it to the inside of a t-shirt or the fabric you want ruched and therefore making it scrunched up.

i want to be on the volleyball team next year... but i suck at volleyball. i have all summer and i want 2 get good, but i cant join a team because im going to be on vacation in july. how do i learn 2 play? (link)
|
Try to find someone like one of your volleyball playing friends or someone from the volleyball team who will be willing to help you learn to play during the summer. Another solution is to take a one week or two week volleyball camp depending on how much free time you have, and learn to play there with the coaches.

ok so people keep thinking im in like 10th/11th grade when im only in 7th(im 13) and its really weird and it just started happening like a month ago...and these older guys will try to pick me up..and when they ask my age and i say 13 they go...ur kidding right? i know this should be like a good thing but its kinda creeping me out (link)
|
It's okay, some girls develop earlier than others. I look younger than I'm supposed to look, and a lot of guys don't ask me out because I look younger. If all of these guys are after you, just brush them off. You're better off with guys from your grade who actually appreciate you for who you are, and not for how you look.

Heyz ppl i lik wanna kno if the chatspeak workz for moderatorz...yea lol it's hilarius rofl (link)

I have really, really fine hair. It's lately been getting really really frizzy. Its a little below the shoulder and there's a little layers on it. It's also light-medium brown. Can you give me any suggestions to stop it from being frizzy and not take a lot of time doing it? (link)
|
There are a lot of products on the market designed to help frizzy hair instantly, or as an extra product when you take a shower. Personally I like to use Pantene Hydrating Curls. I really only have wavy/straight hair, but what this shampoo does is it adds moisture and body to your hair, so it's impossible for you to have frizzy hair because it's ultra-moisturized. Also, in the morning if you spray a little hairspray into your hand and smooth it quickly over your hair and spray a bit on the top of your head and you will look frizz-free.

I am in a school production of Bye Bye Birdie. I think I am doing OK with the memorization of my lines, but sometimes I foget where to go and don't know how to dramatize certain parts. (I play Mrs. Peterson, a huge over-reactor) i am usually good at giving advice about this stuff, but I am stuck. Does anyone know how I could be mroe dramatic and confident in myself?
~stage STUCK (link)
|
Oh, I played Mrs. Peterson! It's one of my favorite roles because you can never over-act- she's such a typical mother:-).
Just go through the script and pretend that it's really your life, and pretend that you are Albert and Mrs. Peterson is really your mother. REALLY dramatize the part where Mrs. Peterson mourns Lou, because it's a really funny part which needs to be noticed. Basically be loud all the time, and really dramatize the funny parts in the script, because that's what the audience really likes.
Break a leg! :-)

how do you put holes in your jeans but not to where they look like you just randomly cut them? (link)
|
http://teenfashion.about.com/od/diyfashion/a/destroyeddenim.htm
This is a great site that teaches you how to "destroy" your denim, which is the latest look (i'm assuming that's why you want to put holes in your jeans)

I have big and boring dark brown eyes..I don't like them at all..I want to enhance them in some way. What should I do..and what colors should I use? Also..how do you acheieve "soft/shy/pretty" eyes? (link)
|
A nice way to enhance brown eyes is the "smoky" look, with some navy blue eyeshadow and shades of grey. Also try lining them with a dramatic line of eyeliner, like a thicker, bolder line on the top.
soft/shy/pretty eyes- well you could do them in many ways, but I'd reccommend a translucent white color- it opens up your eyes and makes you look like a southern belle. If you want to tone down the white, try a lavender color (only if you're wearing pink) it's a toned down version of what the white powder does.

I'm never really sure what to say to the question "I love your shoes! Where did you get them?" or any other clothing item because I really don't want to say anything to incriminate me. The popular kids will laugh if you answer anything like "target", "payless shoe store", or some other department store, and the kids that I'm friends with call me stupid if I tell them that I bought them at Hollister. What is a generic answer that I can say that will satisfy everyone? (link)
|
Best answer available- "Oh, I don't really remember!" it is really generic, and it makes everyone want to find out where you get your clothes! In fact, most fashion divas use this term to get around anyone copying their style...:-)

dear friends, well, will some intelligent grammar expert tell me, why in american english there is somtimes the omission of letter 'u' eg- color, neighbor etc, why are the pronounciations different, eg- schedule is pronounced as skedule instead of shedule ( are you getting me). please explain. (link)
|
I'm pretty sure that when Merrim Webster (and all those other dictionary writers) were first writing a dictionary, the purposefully changed the spellings of some words to show that they no longer had association with England. Now we wouldn't have cared, but since we have been spelling this way for so long, people don't want to change the words back. And also with the pronuciations, it's another reason why English is such a hard language to learn- unless you've lived here all your life, you're never really sure how to pronounce the words. It's just another complicity of American English.

We just moved from Oregon to California and we have all this winter clothes. I think we are haivng a garage sale next week. The problem is, I don't know how to price my items! They may be used, but they are in excellent condition. We have many different brands from gap to abercrombie to bcbg! How should I price my clothes??-I paid good money for it! (link)
|
If you have a record of what you paid for them, then charge the same price if they are in excellent condition. If you don't know, get someone to help you judge what they think they are worth, like your parents and your close friends. Sometimes though, if you are holding a winter clothes garage sale in California, you may not get much of a response because of the weather. If you are trying with the clothes at the same price you paid for them, try slowly decreasing the price, or a better idea- try selling them on EBay. EBay is connected to the whole internet, and if California is having a hot day, some person from Alaska on EBay would really like those winter clothes of yours!

does anyone know a good place to buy cheap but nice t-shirts and other clothes? thx
(link)
|
Personally my favorite place to shop is Sears, because their clothes are all in style and affordable. There are a lot of great department stores like Boscov's, Strawbridges, definitely Kohl's, and even Target on occasion that have really nice clothing sections. Hollister can be a little on the pricey side, but if you want clothes that last and always look nice then that is a great place.

Whenever I put eyeliner on, there's no affect. It just looks like I have black stuff all over my eye. Does anyone have any tips to put it on better? Thanks! (link)
|
I think that your eyeliner is too thick. You might want to go with a liquid eyeliner- it gives you a thin, straight line that enhances your eye instead of a blotchy mess. Even though most people apply eyeliner to their top lashes by holding that eye closed, I always do it open because it shows you what other people will see. Remember to keep the pencil RIGHT on the base of your eyelashes so that it doesn't look like you have a random streak of black across your eye.
It'll look great!

It's that time of year again. We're going to sign eachothers yearbooks. I'm sick of writing Cya in ___ (whater grade yor going in nxt year) and have a good summer. I was wondering what are some cool "quotes" to write in? (link)
|
I always write something that is meaningful to the other person, like an inside joke or something that you found nice or wonderful in another person-
for example- "I really enjoyed having you in my class this year because your jokes really livened up History!" or "Remember that time in your house when I tripped over a chair and did a face-plant into my pudding?" or something like that. If it's someone you don't know really well or you can't think of anything to say, try writing something quirky, like "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Luv ya! ________"

My eyebrows are really hairy! I have super long hairs and I look really bad. My mom won't letme get them waxed..I have asked her many times and she won't let me. I've tried plucking them but they hurt! I don't know what to do because I'm about to be a junior in high school and it's really getting to me! Any advice would be greatly appriciated! Also, don't tell me to sit down and talk to my mom-it won't work..Also, peopple that give crazy answers that want attention, please don't answer! (link)
|
Help for the plucking-
Try holding an ice cube on the area you want to pluck for a while. It will become a little numb and less succeptable to pain, so it will hardly hurt at all when you pluck.
There are also at-home cool wax strips, which you place on the hairs you want to take out and press it there, and then the hairs will automatically stick to the wax on the strips and they will come out that way.
A GREAT product is from TV (but is available in stores) called Finishing Touch, which is a mini-razor that doesn't need cream, and it doesn't hurt at all, it just removes the hair from where you don't want it by holding the pen-shaped appliance and keeping the rotating razor on top of the hair.
