K2204 answered Sunday May 29 2005, 1:45 pm: ask some people that play volleyball to help you, and check around in your area for some volleyball camps! i know where i live, there are camps all during the summer for all types of sports camps! ask your parents, or check online or in your local news paper!
Teza answered Sunday May 29 2005, 12:49 pm: I do volleyball every year and its acually not that hard to learn. When you are on your vacation ask to play with your family. You have to know the normal hits and everything. Learn to bump, set, spike, pass and everything. Just have fun with it and you will learn in no time! ♥ [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
orphans answered Sunday May 29 2005, 10:03 am: well if you have any siblings or anything, practice with them, so you can practice while your on vacation too. if you don't, then practice with your friends or something all you can before you go on vacation. you can also like surve the ball to the wall and then hit it back and forth against the wall. duckyfernanda answered Sunday May 29 2005, 9:34 am: Im on the high school volleyball team at my school. I first tried out when I was in sixth grade. The only thing you can do to get better is practice. You can practice while you are watching tv by "setting" between commercials. Jumping Rope also helps you to become agile. I recommend that you do some sort of an ab workout...it gets you loose. If you can't get your serve over the net..its ok. One of the players on our team didnt get ONE serve over till she was a senior. It all depends on how much effort you are willing to put into it. Running would also help you. You have to be limber to catch stray balls during a game. Hope I helped!! RATE ME!! ~mAdDiE~

MaDe_iiN_CaLii_x3 answered Sunday May 29 2005, 9:32 am: This was my problem a while back. I wanted to be on the team at my school but I wasn't good at all. There aren't teams in the summer, but there are camps & workshops. Camps are for a week or two where you can train & learn the basics. Workshops can go up to about 3 days & they teach you the fundementals of the sport. If you can't do either then I reccomend the book "Winning Volleyball For Girls". It really helped me out alot. It goes over the moves, tecniques and exercises you can do both on & off the court. If you don't already have a volleyball, get one. It doesn't have to be expensive & it can be indoor or outdoor. Toss it around, try to immitate some of the positions in the book & you'll be fine. Serving can be the hardest since you need arm strength so make sure you stay fit during the summer. Need anymore volleyball advice? Feel free to ask me! =]

mapetiteodette answered Saturday May 28 2005, 8:49 pm: Try to find someone like one of your volleyball playing friends or someone from the volleyball team who will be willing to help you learn to play during the summer. Another solution is to take a one week or two week volleyball camp depending on how much free time you have, and learn to play there with the coaches.
