it all depends on how old he/she is. If he/she is under 18, you should take action by either talking to your brother about it or telling that person in person. You can also tell your parents and they can help out someway, maybe by talking to that person. You shouldn't let this overcome you. You need to do something about it. My aunt (she;s not my real aunt but I call her aunt Paula) DIED of lung cancer and I'm trying to convice people to STOP smoking and it makes me mad everytime my mom buys some cigarettes because my aunt was an innocent 40 year old woman and her life ended horribly and you DON'T want the feeling I had when I found out she was dead. You need to prevent this person from smoking however you can. Buy this person a patch or the smoking gum that helps you quit as well. tell him how he's been giving you some hints that lead you to, "He likes me." Tell him how he flirts with you a lot and tell him that everyone thinks he likes you. true love doesn't REALLY start until you find someone that you think you can spend the rest of your life with. You SHOULD not pretend you're someone else, just to get attention from a guy. It' not right. You need to be who you are and just because you don't look the way a guy wants you to look, doesn't mean you aren't pretty. I don't want you to go around wearing thongs showing out of your EXTREMELY tight jeans and half shirts. That's NOT the way to get a guy. At least you haven't done that because other girls will call you names like slut and whore. You don't want that kind of reputation. Just because YOU don't think your pretty, doesn't mean a really hot guy thinks your not pretty. Everyone is beautiful to me. I think judging people on their looks is rude because how a person dresses reflects on how they're feeling and who they are. Oh my gosh! Your dad cannot hit you. That's considered child abuse and is very serious, even if he says sorry. It doesn't matter. You can calm down if you tell your mom or tell an aunt or uncle and they can maybe take some action. That would calm you down and make you more confident about your friend coming down. You won't have to worry about your dad if someone is there, watching you and making sure he doesn't hit you. If he denies hitting you, he's not right and should do that to you. Because love IS a scary thing, especially at your age. You get hurt a lot in your life and each time, it's different. Love is a scary thing to you because you haven't been through EVERYTHING when it comes to love. You really don't know what to expect from someone you love. lettuce, so you can make a salad. Get whatever else you need for a salad. Also, a little snack can be a DELICIOUS, juicy apple. lol. You can also get that cereal with the G on it. That's the kind I get because it's good for you but it also helps you lose weight. Also, a tip on how to stay slim and healthy: Don't eat and eat and eat and then go to bed. You can eat and eat and eat and take a walk or exorcise but if you eat before going to sleep, none of those calories are burn and all that fat goes STRAIGHT to your hips or stomach and stays there until you burn them off. Exorcise a lot and stay healthy. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. You can still have meat and stuff but make sure you exorcise too. Best of luck!

he DID look you straight in the eyes and smile, which COULD be a sign of love but not necessarily. You have to really know the guy to know if he likes you or not. I think he likes you, unless he flirts A LOT with other girls. Other than that, your answer is yes, he most likely likes you. I think you SHOULD ask him if he likes you. That way, if you say "Do you like me?" and he says "No", you can cover it up and say "Good! I don't like you either!" Hahaha. That's what I always do! :-) You should ask him when you two are alone or talking on the phone with no one around. You should ask him after flirting a little to see if he flirts back. If he does flirt back and smile while he talks, ask him but if he kinda hesitates, don't bother. He's not worth it and you're better than him, anyway. I think you should ask him face to face because then, if you guys get married, you can say, "I asked him out on the first date and he said yes!" but if your friend asks him, you'll say "No. So-and-so asked him." and you definitly want to say you asked him. I'm really sorry that you have like that with her! But you can tell her how you feel about her health and how embarassing she is to you when your friends are over. Tell her that you don't like it when she drinks because it worries you that one day, she could pass out and... never wake up. Tell her exactly how you feel. I DO have a parent that drinks... my dad. He goes out with his friends and is crazy when he's drunk but he only gets drunk every once in a while. He still drinks but not half as much as my nana. She gets drunk at 9:00 a.m. and when I was 13, she flipped me off and she hit me because I had two ice cream sandwiches. She slapped me across the face and my parents got REALLY mad and didn't speak to her for a couple years and then, she apoligized. She made me feel like I wasn't good enough. She called me ugly and called me names and once tried to kill me but I was a baby... I don't remember all that much. She's terrible. She's my "Step-grandma" but she calls herself my REAL grandma. I don't love her at all. I know that it's wrong to say that about my family but I don't. I used to live with her so I kind of know how you feel... it's a terrible feeling because she embarassed me, too. She would come with my mom to pick me up at school and yell my name out the window when she was drunk. It was so embarassing. I used to walk right past the car and pretend I didn't know her! Hahahahaha! Well, the point to MY story is to show you that you're not alone and even if it may seem like the most terrible thing in the world, it's not. Sure, it's embarassing and makes you worry. if he GAVE you his number, he probably likes you, unless you asked him for it. If a friend gave it to you, you can never be sure. But... you have to take chances. That's how I got a boyfriend. You need to tell yourself that you will live, even if he says no. You don't have to ask him out the first time you call him. Just talk to him and get to know him a LITTLE better and chat a little. Maybe talk to him again and ask him to a movie or something. Then, when you do something fun with him like a movie or going to the beach, ask him out either in person or on the phone that night. If he likes you, he'll say yes. If he says "No." on going on the "date", DUMP HIM! He's nothin' but trouble and you're much better than him. He seems really nice and I think he'll say "yes". I'm so sorry I have to tell you this, but you may have to go to drastic measures... you may have to... tell her mother/father/guardian/friend/SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HER WELL! lol! I know you may not feel right about it but it's the right thing to do to prevent her from getting emotionally/physically hurt by this grown man, whom she barely even knows! This is a dangerous situation. She may be in trouble and if she won't listen, it may be up to you to get her out of it. Trust me on this. Her mother/father may forbid her from seeing him and she may be upset but when he goes to jail for raping someone, she'll thank you that it wasn't her! Please trust me on this. I take this very seriously because there are internet predators pretending to be thirteen years old and all cute when really, it's a 44 year old man with bad B.O and 5 warrants! lol.
