yes it is normal. anybody can write at any age. my cousin who is 10 writes music, there is nothing worng with it.

Of course. I used to write my own songs and currently, I'm taking voice and seeing this guy. I'm hoping to write a new song and record and have it played on the radio! I wrote my first song when I was 12 and have 17 more since then. My second one was written at the age of thirteen.

I would not say that it is not "normal". I started writing songs when I was about 13/14ish... though in retrospect, they really sucked. But it was fun, I enjoyed it, and it was a great way to start expressing myself in a creative manner.

of course it's normal, some people just have a gift for composing, if i were you i would keep writing as much as i could, i wish i could write music

No. Usually around that age they're all emo pathetic crap where its all been put on by impression of other bands. Oh wait....everyone does that now days.
Yeah, screw originality just remake other peoples songs and make them sound just like some other bands when you make your own stuff.
