Hey! I have this challenge thingy set by our teacher and it has a load of riddles on it. I'm really stuck on this certain one, please could you help with this one?
Three men have dinner together. The bill comes up to $30. The men each put down $10, which the waitress takes to the owner who says: They didn't have a very good deal, take $5 off the bill. The waitress is distressed at having to divide $5 by three so she pockets $2 and returns $1 to each man. So they end up paying $27 and she gets $2, this adds up to $29. But the diners orginally paid $30. Where is the extra dollar? (link)

It's pretty simple. I've been asked that before. 2+3+25=30. The 2 dollars she gets is apart of the 27 dollars they pay. Your teacher is asking you to add the 2 dollars she kept twice. You add the 3 dollars they keep to 27 to get 30.

Okay...There's this guy that likes me at school. And he's really short well for me anyway because im 5'4 right now. He doesn't bother me at all, but it's his friends. All they do is say things like "Will you go out with him, do you like him, he's in love with you!!". I wouldn't have any trouble with it if they didn't harass me every minute. It's just so distracting because now every time a guy asked me if i like him i scream, "NO I DONT GO THE F- AWAY!" or something real close to it. Im at the end of the rope because it's been happening for osme time now and i cant seem to know what to do! please help me!!! thank you

I fucking hate it when people do that. They need to live their own lives instead of treating their friend's lives like an interactive soap opera.
Did you really say, "No I don't. Go the fuck away!"? Because if you didn't, you need to. Be really agressive with this. They may think your mean, but at least they'll stop asking you and keep their distance.
It's a shame that he's so into you, but it's nothing you can help. I've been there, I know how he feels. He'll get over this.

Anyone who likes Fear Before the March of Flames and looks like the lead singer to The Start can't be that undatable. You only just turned 14, you have friends old and new, This doesn't sound that bad at all.
I doubt people dislike you because you have crooked bones in your feet. And suicide is a concept reserved for the ignorant. Those who think it will be sweet and swift are going to be surprised when their last thoughts are that of pain and regret.
I'll say this again, you only just turned 14. Your very young. You desire a guy in your life, but I can almost guarantee you that you'll think differently when you actually start dating. Most guys (probably including myself) are assholes.

ok, this might be confusing so im sorry in advance if you dont understand.
well, i like this one guy, Joe. and Joe said that he likes me a little while ago, and he knows i like him. but now im sort of doubting that he does, because he still hasnt done anything. although he always acts like he does like me, so im incredibly confused. and im the very submissive type and i cant ask a guy out, i think its impossible. but then, i found out this other guy likes me, Bob. i only like Bob as a friend though. so im not going to date Bob because im not one to date out of pity. i was talking to my other friend, George, who is really good friends with Joe, and he said that he thinks Joe likes me a little bit, but hes just weird around the "lady-folk" (as he said). so i dont know if he just gets scared around girls, or he just doesnt like me. i dont think he doesnt like me at all, i think he does a little bit.
i guess my question is...
1. do you think Joe might like me?
2. what should i do to get him to ask me out? i dont want to push him though, just kind of hint that i want to.
3. if youre going to answer "ask him yourself" could you tell me what i could/should say?

1. It's very likely. I'm guessing he likes you more than a little bit.
2. If you're only planning on hinting around he'll never ask you out. Most guys are to scared to see obvious hints.
3. Get to know him first. Develop a casual friendship, that way asking him out (or him asking you out) would be less awkward.

There's no way escaping the awkwardness you'll feel when you talk to her about this. Don't do what I do and hint around, it never works. Just ask her how she's been doing lately, maybe reminisce about the old times. That should break the ice.

This boy has liked me for a while and he asked me out about 2 weeks ago. I told him I'd give him an answer soon because i needed to think about it. And I really did need to think about it. Well I told him I'd give him an answer by his birthday which is in a few days. I really don't know if I like him or not. I love his personality but he doesnt really have good looks and I dont care wat anyone says, you do need physical attraction in a relationship. If your not sure, then chances are you don't. I think you think that since there's nothing wrong with him, if you turn him down you might appear shallow. I think that you also like him as a friend, but you don't want to hurt him by turning him down. I don't think you should date him. I think you should have a long talk with him about how you feel about him and how you feel, and what he means to you as a friend. I wouldn't make it short and painful.
