There is this person on here that keeps harassing me beacause of my user name. I've explained to him/her that it's just a username but s/he mail me again to antoganize more. THis is an advice collumn and I'm getting mails in my inbox every day from the same person who never leaves his/her name. I'm getting annoyed, whoever it is they are not asking for advice. What should I do?
I used my mod status to check out your column and I see how awful this person is. You are not even the first person that she has done this to. I noticed you already sent a message to the admin, so I will wait until she answers you before I decide to ban this person.
But I don't think you should have to change your name. This person deserves to be banned in my opinion. In the future, I would send a link to one of the actual questions that this person sent to you to the admin so she can better check it out.

Ok. My cat Zoey will not stop pooping on the floor! She has a litter box and all she does is poop on the floor right next to it. She's not a baby, shes almost 4 yrs. old and she's always used the litter box fine, just recently she has started doing this, her litter box is clean because i clean it at least once every two days and i dont know what to do with her anymore, she has done this at least 10 times. I know that like putting their nose in it and saying no works on dogs but does it work od cats? Please if anyone knows anything i can do then tell me! Thanks in advance!
Well Moop covered pretty much everything. But I wanted to mention a few other things. One of the most common reasons for a cat going to the bathroom right outside their litter box is because the box is not clean enough for their standards. You already seem to be aware of this since you say it is clean. But perhaps you should try cleaning it every day instead of every two days.
Another reason that cats suddenly start doing things like this is because of a sudden change in their environment. Did you get any new pets recently? Did you change Zoey's litter? Did you move her box to a different spot? Is there a new smell around her box? You need to think about everything your cat goes through throughout the day and try to think of something that has suddenly changed. Perhaps it could even be something as simple as a new cat that has moved in down the street. I have even heard stories of a cat that stayed inside 24 hours a day who suddenly started to mark up the house when he saw a new cat in the neighborhood outside through the window.
You could try calling an animal trainer or behavior specialist. But, they can be quite expensive. If you can pin-point why your cat is suddenly acting like this, and take that thing away, then the behavior should change for the better.
Cat's are wonderfully stubborn little creatures aren't they?
This is most likely a behavioral problem, and could very likely be caused by a change in Zoey's environment... but with any sudden change in bathroom behavior, you need to check with your Vet. A simple phone call should be enough. It's hard to believe that this strange behavior could be caused by an illness, but it's also quite possible.
Now my last little tid-bit about this question is about the "rubbing their nose in it and saying no" part. I would not suggest trying this at all. It can usually have a negative outcome. While sternly saying no is always good, rubbing your cats nose in their 'mess' can seriously hurt their sense of smell and is only going to frighten the animal. The same thing goes for a dog. It's been a widely used form of training for dogs for a while now, but I would not suggest it at all. It's very highly outdated.

I have this boyfriend, he's a great guy and everything but hes REALLY shy. He hasn't held my hand or anything. I know he likes me a lot and I also like him a lot. His shyness is hard to deal with because I am completely opposite. All of his friends have told him that he needs to be less shy and I told him there is no reason to be shy around me because I'm not going to get mad at him or anything but he is still shy! Its killing me!! What to do?! Thanks for the help!!! Have a nice day! :D
Well, having all of your friends go up to him all the time and tell him to stop being shy is probably quite overwhelming for him. You might think that it will have the opposite effect, but it's probably just making him feel like he's doing something wrong by being shy and you think he needs to act differently. While you actually do think that he should act differently, you shouldn't let him know that. If he is nervous and thinks that you want him to act differently than he is acting, then he will never be able to warm up to you and be comfortable around you.
This is coming from a shy person. When a bunch of people come up to me and talk about how shy I am, and how I shoudn't be shy... it only has the opposite effect on me. Don't keep pointing out the fact that he's shy. Just hold his hand. Make the first move if he isn't able to. But stop pointing out his shyness and he might warm up to you eventually.

is there a way to block coments from certain ppl? some ppl say stupid or mean stuff and its not very nice. anyone reading this that does that ,also, could u stop? thanx
Do not comment back to them! That is what the want. Some people come to this site just to mess with people and when they irritate someone, they think it's fun. If you show them that they are being irritating, then they are going to continue to come to this site. If everyone would just ignore these sort of people, then they will get bored quickly and just leave the site.
If you are having a problem with a specific user, and they are incredubly rude and obscene, then you might be able to get a level 2 or 3 mod to ban them for a period of time. But honestly, we try to ban people for rude advice. There are much more things that we have to worry about besides a few rude comments. But, if there is one, or a few user's you are having a problem with, you can try asking one of the level 2 or 3 mods to ban them. You can find a list of the level 2 and 3 mods in the moderator section in the FAQ or Help section.
People like Spike357 and ninthgradeguy are morons and shouldn't even be acknowledged. I would say don't even give them a rating. If you do, then they will win. Also, what MaxwellsSilverHammer said is true, the admin is thinking about an "ignore" option. But I'm not sure how long it will take to get done.

i am 13. but i look like im 15. i want to get my belly botton peirced, and my mom will let me. but i still think im too young to get it dun. im almost dun growing...so im not sure about getting it done or not and if it will hurt. please help.. i rate
Have you looked around and gotten any information on any of the piercing places around your area? In my state, you are not legally allowed to get any body piercings unless you are 16, even with your parent with you.
If the laws where you live do not allow you to get a piercing at 13, then I would not suggest getting it done. Here's why I wouldn't suggest it: any place that will go against the law is not very proffesional. There are a lot of things that can be screwed up when you get any body piercing, and when you get your belly button pierced, there is a chance that they could hit a vien. There is a chance you could get seriously screwed up if they dont' know what they're doing. If they're not very proffesional, then there's a huge chance that they don't know what they're doing. Basically, I am just saying that you need to research the piercer that you want to go to when you get this done. If your able to, talk to other people who have gone to different peircing salons, ask them how clean they are, how well they explain the piercings, how straight their piercings came out, etc.
The pain is quite bad compared to other peircings, but it is also different with different people. It might not hurt for you as much as it hurt for me.
Oh, and I want to add, that I don't think your almost done growing. I'm 21 and still growing, I doubt at 13 you would be almost done growing.

Hi again, my friend Dj who is 23 is having
some problems but is too shy to seek help.
He has been unemployed for 4 years, and is currently on welfare. He isn't "stupid" but everytime he goes to an interview he ALWAYS gets turned down. Dj always dresses appropriately and shows up on time to the interview but this still isn't working. He's applied for everything from retail, aged care work, bar work etc etc.
Also, studying is out of the question as he cannot afford the fees. Any suggestions would be helpful .
I'm am also a very shy person and have had quite a hard time finding employment. I always dress appropriately and show up on time to interviews, but have a hard time getting past that. So, basically, I can only sympathise with Dj on that part, since I have yet to find my perfect interview style.
But, I am going through college to gain more experience in my chosen field, and I am a bit concerned as to why he says he cannot study. I come from a very poor family, but have found plenty of ways to help me pay for college. I have a crappy job, which didn't even involve an interview to help pay my rent and other expenses, but I have loans and grants to pay for my college. He needs to look into various colleges and see about financial aid options. With the financial aid that I have, I would be able to go to college, live on campus, and not even worry about a different job. Also, many colleges offer work study jobs for their students. If he can't afford it, then chances are that he would be able to get a big sum of money to pay for it.
It's not easy, and it will take a lot of work for him, but I'm sure he's sick of not having any work to do by now.
By going to college he will learn more people skills, he can take some public speaking classes, and get a lot of experience in whatever field he wants to work in. Even a technical college or community college could work. He just needs to get out there and look into this stuff to find everything out. He can't use the excuse of not being able to afford the fees.

im kind of insecure about my private area. i have washed with plain soap n water, ive douched, used feminine wash..what else is there to do?
It's very bad for you to douche and use feminine wash too much. It's really not safe for you to douche AT ALL unless your doctor advises you to. You will kill all of the good bacteria inside you. Those bacteria help to keep your body neutral and healthy.
Soap and water is fine. Don't use douche, or any kind of feminine perfumes AT ALL. You are more likely to get an infection if you use all kinds of products on your private area.

What do I do? I am a fantastic looking person, my looks are superb (not to be vein), I could even be a model for sure, but I have a problem:
My armpits are always sweating no matter what kind of deoderant I use, I have to change my shirt like 5 times a day. All my shirts get stained and it's so embarassing. Any helpful suggestions? I don't think I can afford botox (it's supposed to stop excessive sweating). Are prescription deoderants expensive, or do you know of one of the shelf that works real good?
(18/f)
I am terribly sorry, but I do not know a trick that could help you.
My brilliant answer is for you to ask this same question to the entire site. You will be able to get much more diverse answers.
(if you ask it now then I'll even approve it for you, so it will get on the site right away)

hi everyone is painting their fingernails black does that mean i have 2 to? maybe it is just for halloween but i'm like the only 1 in class not with that. um, i'd like to but i like green better what shlukd i do, be differnt?
I would definately say paint your fingernails green. For two main reasons. Reason 1: Because that's the color that you really want. Why do something different just because everyone else is. Reason 2: It's much better to be original. Just because it's Halloween, that doesn't mean you have to wear black, black, and more black. A dark green can be pretty gruesome with the right outfit. Even a pastel type green would be good depending on what you want your halloween look to be.
If you paint your fingernails black, then you'll be no different and no one will notice you as opposed to anyone else in your class. But on the other hand, if you paint your fingernails green, you will stick out, be original, and everyone will notice the cool girl who dared to do something different.

you should post that ? not just for me but for other curious advicenators, a lot of people answered her ? and appreciate updates, because the non-insensitve people do care. thank you. Seriously, I'd appreciate your consideration.
And what if she tells you that she decided to get an abortion? Are you going to tell her how horrible she was and how she made the wrong decision?
No, I wont approve it for a couple reasons. One, it's not even an advice question... two, you were mature enough to give me a '1' when I told you not to be mean to other columnists... three, because there are so many questions daily that it's a pretty slim chance that this girl would even see it... ...
[view]
Hi I was wondering if the 15 year old that is debating an abortion could keep us updated on her choice she ends up making?
I would be more likely to approve this question if you didn't trash all over everyone who mentions a different view on the subject of abortion than you. Don't keep sending people these hate notes telling them that they have to believe what you believe and nothing else please.
The poor girl asked for everyone's opinions. HollyAnn2282 and AngelofMusic gave their opinions they were not rude about it, they just didn't agree with you. It's not right for you to tell them their wrong.

Hey. I changed the colors in my column and now its all messed up. All the questions and answers are cramed on one side of the page. look here to see -->http://www.advicenators.com/column.php?u=lilblondeii%3C3
dose anyone know how to fix it?? thanks soo much!
I'm guessing you tried to write "When's the last time you called someone?"
And instead of the '(apostrophe) you ended up with a crap load of strange symbols that messed up the width of your column.
Get rid of the apostrophe and it should be fine, I'm sure no one will notice the small grammar mistake compared to the huge bad code in your column.
There might be a different way to get rid of it, but I've noticed with some columns, an apostrophe seems to change to a strange code. On your column it just went a little overboard. Just take out the apostrophe.

Hey! This is columnist Mandee, and I couldn't think of anyone better to ask this question to than you! =D Because as your column says you know a lot about pets and I was wondering if you could help me out.
Well I have three little dogs. A shitzu, multese and ( well I don't really know how to spell it...but it advertises for Taco Bell) And they all get along with each other very nicely, two of them are girls and the other one is a boy. But lately I've been wanting another dog. Do you have any suggestions? I really like little dogs, but I like big dogs too. The only problem I worry about is that if I did get a bigger dog than all of them, they might become afraid of it. And I don't want that to happen. So if have any ideas please answer me back!
Oh yes, and I always questioned this...all my dogs sometimes start making this sound almost as if they can't breathe. Do you know what that it is, and if they're okay? It scares me sometimes! Thanks so much! =D You are such an awesome columnist! And I think your answers are great!
*Mandee*
Shih-Tzu's are generally good with other pets. Maltese also generally do good with other pets, but may become jealous if they are over pampered. Now, Chihuahua's on the other hand are normally excessively aggressive with other dogs. You say your dogs get along with each other, but that does not necessarily mean that they will get along with new dogs just entering into the house. Have all of your dogs been well socialized with other dogs of all shapes and sizes? How old are they? The younger they are, the easier it is going to be to get them all to be friends.
The problem that I've noticed with smaller dogs is that when they get scared, they don't just back down. They are normally more aggressive and try to take down the other dog before the other dog can take them down. I've seen my mother's old five pound mixed breed attack my 150 pound rottweiler repeatedly. Luckily my Rotty never hurt him, just had to push him away like a fly.
Anyway, that would only be a problem if you get a full grown dog. I would suggest getting a puppy no matter what size breed you decide to get. Getting a puppy will help to ensure that the new dog doesn't have any already learned behavior problems. An adult dog might seem sweet when you meet him, but that doesn't mean he won't try to eat your little puppies when you get him home. A puppy on the other hand will be much easier to control and socialize.
If you get a large breed puppy, by the time he grows to a larger size than your other dogs, they should all be used to each other. It's even possible that the larger, yet younger dog will follow around your older, yet much smaller dogs like they are his/her parents. My Rotty used to follow around my mother's much smaller retriever mix like she was the Rotty's mother.
I would stay away from any kind of terriers. They can be pretty aggressive. Talking to Veterinarians, dog groomers, and kennel workers, they will usually tell you that the most aggressive dogs are the small terrier type dogs.
LARGE DOGS:
Good choices for a larger dog would be a Labrador Retriever, or a Golden Retriever. Both are known friendly family dogs. They normally get along with dogs of all sizes very nicely. They are also very easily trained. Although I love Rotti's, they can be difficult to train if you don't have a whole lot of experience with dogs. Without a very stern owner to show them who's boss, they will tend to be aggressive.
SMALL DOGS:
Pugs get along well with both other pets and small children, but require a lot of attention and can get jealous easily.
Pembroke Welsch Corgi's are, in my opinion, the most adorable dog. But I will warn you that they can become aggressive if not properly socialized when young. They're herding dogs, and have been known to try to "herd" people by nipping at their heels. The males can also be aggressive to other males.
Japanese Chin love everyone, as quoted from the current web page I'm looking at. They are a small dog that you could think about.
Havanese seem like a cheerful affectionate little breed.
Cavalier King Charles spaniels are easily trained and good with other dogs.
I can't pin-point a lot of dogs that you would be interested in, but I can give you the web sites that I'm looking at so you can find more information.
The first one is The American Kennel Club website.
http://www.akc.org/breeds/recbreeds/group.cfm
DO NOT simply read about the temperments on this site because these are the ideal temperments for a show dog, but do not come naturally to any breeds. To find their natural, normal temperment of the breeds, go to this site:
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/akcbreeds.htm
The AKC site is a little easier to find individual breeds and see the picture and size. But for a better, more detailed look of what they are going to be like go to the second website.
Sorry this took so long for a reply, but it was a nice break from my studying.
Now on to your second question:
I'm not sure what you mean by this sound. Is it like a hacking sound? Do they cough? If you could try to explain it more and send me another question about it then I could try to help you more. How long has it been going on? How long do these spells usually last? Do the spells come on at certain times (for example, after they drink a lot of water, after they eat a lot of food quickly, after they get scared by something?)
If you could explain it a little more, then I might be able to help you.
But, I warn you that I'm only a first year Veterinary Technology major, and I probably wouldn't be able to pin-point the problem. If I couldn't pin-point the problem for sure, then my advice would be to call a Vet and see if they know what it is by your description. It doesn't cost anything to simply call a Vet, and they can't force you to bring the dogs.

I am a 22 female and i have been living with my boyfriend for over 2 years now. We both work ALOT and have stressfull jobs. He is always bringing his work problems home and it is affecting our relationship in many ways, like how we talk (or dont talk) to eachother, putting us both on edge at all times. Dont get me wrong i love him and we did have an awesome relationship till the past few months. he makes me feel unwanted or unattractive now. i try to initiate a sexual relation in MANY MANY different ways and i'm just "denied access" to every part of him. i even try to talk to him about it but he just goes on the defence and doesnt want to talk. getting him to give me a peck on the cheek is like pulling teeth, yet alone actually having sex, which is like once every other month and i'm getting frustrated sexually so bad that our relationship is suffering and i dont know what to do anymore. I dont know how many more nights i can be denied access and roll over frustrated. It's not like we work different schedules we go to work at the same time and get home at the same time and even shower together....but nothing comes of it no pun intended.i just dont know what to do anymore........what advice can u offer me ?
Honestly, this sounds familiar to me, and your not going to like what I have to say.
This sounds familiar with me because almost the same thing happened to me with my last boyfriend. We were together for over three years and the first 1-2 years were great. We would have sex all the time. We tried many different things together to keep the sexual part of the relationship fresh and exciting.
The last year or so of the relationship started to fizzle out. We both loved each other and cared for each other very much, but it seemed like he wasn't as attracted to me as he was in the beginning. Like you, I would try almost everything to start something, and 8 out of every 10 attempts would be answered with a cold shoulder from him. We once had sex at least once a day, and towards the end it was rare to have sex even once a month.
I struggled with myself and tried to figure out what was wrong with me. I thought he had gotten sick of me. I thought he would look at me and think "wow, she's gotten fat and ugly" I even started to consider whether or not he was gay. I would talk to him and try to figure out why he never wanted to have sex and got the same reaction that you seem to be getting. He would get defensive about the whole situation. I started reading books and stuff to help our relationship. I tried using some techniques such as: Don't turn it into his fault or make him think your blaming him. Do this by not saying "Why don't you want to have sex with me?" but instead say "I'm sad that we are not as intimate with each other." By saying "you don't want to have sex" you are blaming him, but by saying "we don't have sex" the blame is on the both of you instead of just him.
Anyway, none of these things worked. He still got defensive when I tried to talk to him.
The relationship obviously did not last. Me and this guy are still friends, but having an intimate relationship was only meant to last a year or two with us.
My opinion is that you and him are in the same, or almost the same situation as I was with this guy that I have told you about. You might not like to think about it like this, but your love for each other may not be enough for you two to stay together. People say sex isn't everything, but in a relationship, I think it plays a big part. You need to have that sex to have the closeness that a good relationship needs to survive. If you feel like your partner see's you as unnatractive, then your going to be miserable.
Another option is counceling for the both of you. But if he gets defensive when you ask him a few questions, I'm sure he will most likely get defensive if you ask him to go into counceling with you. (my ex's reaction to counceling was "I do not need counceling, I'm not crazy")
You need to make sure to get him to realize that your just not happy with the way things are going right now, and it needs to change if you two are going to last. Whatever you do, try to stay away from blaming him for the lack of sex. If you do he will just get defensive and mad.

i have this dog who is two years old, and i love him sooo much. the problem is, he has gotten my other dog pregnant twice, and each tie we had a horrible time trying to give the puppies away. My parents are furious, and they want to castrate him. i just cant bear the though of him losing his gender! just in case any of you know, what happens when you castrate a dog? are there any side effects?
Yes, they're are side effects. And they are all GOOD side effects. Like MFS said, dogs become calmer after you spay or neuter them. Males will be less likely to mark their territory in unwanted places like indoors. He will be less likely to go around humping things such as your leg, the furniture, and your female dog. One of the best side effects is the lower risk of testicular cancer for him.
It is recommended that you get your dog neutered as soon as possible, aka: anywhere from 8-10 weeks. A lot of people thought that you couldn't get your dog neutered until about 6 months, but times have changed and the Veterinary field has definately changed. It is so much safer for you dog to get him neutered asap.
The side effects in getting females spayed: For one thing, she will not go into heat anymore. You wont have to listen to her howling/barking to other dogs basically yelling at them, saying "come have sex with me, I'm ready to bear puppies". You also won't have to put up with her bleeding. She will be calmer and will not go through her territorial spells. And, again, the most important side effect is the lower risk of cancer. Females can also be spayed much sooner now, as young as 8 weeks, and it is very much recommended.
I am a Veterinary Technologist major, and have worked at the local humane society way to much to listen to the argument of "he will lose his gender" Un-neutered and spayed dogs are the main reason that humane societie's are filled to the rim with unwanted puppies. You should have gotten your dog neutered BEFORE he got your other dog pregnant. You definately should have gotten your female dog spayed BEFORE she had a chance to get pregnant.
I don't mean to sound preachy, but it's hard not to when you've watched as many 'unwanted' dogs get euthanized because people didn't spay and neuter their dogs as I have.
I have had my female dog spayed at an early age, she has not lost her gender, she is now an old healthy female dog. I have also gotten my male dog neutered at a somewhat older age, and he has definately not lost his gender. Since your dog is already quite old, the loss off his balls will not effect him as much as a younger dog.

well i started an account called drone1 for my own use for advice and i was using my first account for moderator stuff. so you see, i guess i accidently switch med password, or something, and i cant get into the account. also, i put a fake email in, so i cant get the pass. can some moderator please delete that column for me? because i can only delete it when im logged in with it, and obviously i cant. so please do so. thanks
Just so you know, it didn't take long for the level 2's to find out about your idea for the three drone accounts. It was quite annoying.
Anyway, I don't know if it's possible for us to delete your account. I'm sure Admin or MFS can do it if they decide they want to. It shouldn't really matter anyway. What harm is it doing if you can't even get into it? I'll just leave this question here to see if someone else notices, but I'm not sure if they'll bother actually deleting your column.
PS: But Matt, your not using the power you have now. You haven't rated any questions at all. Go rate question after question after question.
You seem like a decent advicenator and would probably have a chance at becoming a level 2 if only you would actually rate questions. Then you wouldn't have to go through the long borring process of rating every question 5 times just to get it deleted.

Today I found out that my boyfriend played dares at the weekend and tongued a girl for 12 seconds. He hasn't tongued me before. I play the same game and have kissed other guys before but not with tongues. Should I be mad?
Seriously, what is wrong with all you little kids today. First, you have played a game where you kiss other boys before, and yet you have a boyfriend? The right thing to do would have been to break up with him after you did that. And now he's french kissed another girl playing the same game? And you two haven't even french kissed?
This sounds to me like a couple of middle schoolers pretending to go out, yet you probably never talk or hang out with each other. If the two of you are going to be acting like this, there isn't much of a relationship to even get mad about he cheating that you have both done. So stop pretending that you have a 'real' boyfriend, break up with him for good, and have fun as the little kid that you are.
Edit**
HAHAHAHAH.
God that makes me laugh.
It's a real relationship huh? One where you kiss other guys and he makes out with other girls?
What the fuck is wrong with you. You are not in a real relationship, your a little girl who plays games and thinks she's in a real relationship.
Thanks for the laugh though.

Any one know anything about dogs My sheltie has a sore under is neck it doesn't seem to brother him but it sure is ugly. any ideas ?
It really could be anything. A "sore" doesn't explain much at all. Is it beneath the skin? Is it above the skin? Is it a bump, or is it just a discoloration? Is there hair loss, or not? Does she scratch, lick, or otherwise pay any attention to it at all? Is it cauliflower in shape and texture, or smooth? Is there any bleeding, oozing or crusting around the sore? Is it hard or soft? If it's bumpy, can you move it around under the skin? How old is your dog? Is this the only place she has a sore like this? Do you keep her collar too tight? Does she even wear a collar at all times? Exactly how often does she wear a collar?
You should call a Veterinarian. To only make a phone call would not cost anything. They can give you some advice as to what it is, and might know exactly what it is just from your discription of it. They might ask you to come in, but you don't necessarily have to.
It could be something as simple as a harmless wart, but it's possible that it could be cancerous.
