Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

I absolutely love the first one, my favorite. Such a beautiful color and I love the embellishment.

The second one is also gorgeous, if you're tan or have darker skin go for it.

The third one is okay.

You know how sometimes there is an icon that is usually at the top of the webpage right underneath the File and Edit buttons. Well I have one that is a google search and one underneath it that is an Ask.com search. I would like to change the Ask.com one to Yahoo. Is that possible and if so how do i do it. Thank you.

If you have a browser with tabs, here's how.

Right click on the Ask.com button and click delete.

Open up a new tab and go to yahoo. Drag the top of the tab into where the Ask.com button was.
You can do this with any website, I have mine set up for myspace, facebook, etc.

I have really uneven skin tone so foundation is a must. and if I don't set it with powder, it'll wear off in like, an hour. I can't use just mineral powder alone because it too doesn't last. I try oil blotting pads and everything.

but that is besides that point. I'm in school under freaking FLUORESCENTS.

and knowingly, my make up looks caked on and awful.

You have to apply both foundation (mineral or regular) and translucent powder to make it last. For both, I love Bare Minerals, it's totally natural looking and doesn't cake or anything (and you only have to use a tiny bit, so it lasts forever). Their Mineral Veil finishing powder is amazing. If you're not willing to spend as much, Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation and L'oreal Bare Naturale Matte Translucent Powder are good, too. Bring your powder with you to school and do a touch up at lunch- first blot, then powder. Part of the cakey problem is probably that you're putting too much on. Also, try a thin layer of translucent powder before you apply the foundation to keep oily skin under control.

I've been wearing my contacts a lot lately and i dont usually take them out before i go to sleep. now i'm just starting to notice these red veins appearing in the white area of my eye(sorry, i dont know the technical term for it) i know its normal to have just a few but i have a lot. my eyes always look bloodshot when i leave them in longer than a week.
(i know, i know, i shouldnt be leaving them in at night and im trying to improve that my making it a daily habit.)
also, ive noticed when i give my eyes a break from the contacts, some of the lines/veins disappear. but not all of them.
i would like to know if there is any way to make these veins go away or if they are permanent.

Really, really don't do that. It's bad for your contacts, can make them tear (which is incredibly painful), and you can get infections and pinkeye. You should really try to never leave them in even overnight, leaving them in for a week is really, really bad.

It's probably just your eyes being dry, but if it continues or you wake up with a lot of mucus around your eyes (gross, i know) then you could have pinkeye and you need to see a doctor.

Hello Everyone. I know this is kind of late notice but please help me. My boyfriends birthday is Tomorrow! and I don't have anything planned. I brought him a gift but I just realizd that tomorrow will be his first birthday without his family and close friends because everyone will be back home. I asked him if it was anything special he wanted to do and he said whatever I had plannd but... ugh thats nothing as of now. Please help me. Any advice will be better than none. Thank you.

If you can cook, make him a nice dinner, then do cake and presents, maybe rent a movie.

Short answer: yes.

1 what do you girls put on your face before putting on all your make-up? (i mean .. like some kind of moisturizer)

2 what do you put on your hair to keep it healthy? (like.. how you maintain healthy haiiirrr :)

1. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize in the morning before I put on my makeup, then apply a foundation primer. I love the one by Sally Hansen Natural Beauty (Inspired by Carmindy), it makes your skin look all glowy and amazing, but smashbox makes a good one that's matte.

2. I switch shampoo every other day. (Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship / Bath and Body Works Mango Mandarin). I use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove buildup and a leave in conditioner that stops breakage (also herbal essences long term relationship). I let it air dry most of the time and almost never straighten it.

My wife and I got nice gifts for christmas from out son. My wife quickley went on line and looked up the dollar value of the 2 gifts, she is now mad because her gift costs $220.00 and mine was $395.00.
I feel this is not right and she should not compare gift costs. It's the thought that counts etc. My wife thinks gifts to us should always be equal value.She now wants to give hers back.

How absolutely ridiculous. $220 is still a ton of money, trying to give it back is greedy and selfish, not to mention that it'll hurt your sons feelings. And it would be dumb of her because it's not like he'll get her something more expensive if she gives it back.
I don't know if there's anything you can do to stop her, but how rude and immature.

What is the minimum wage in the United States right now? My mom said it was like $6.55 but when I was working a job last year it was $5.85. My best friend says she doesn't know what minimum wage is right now, but heard it was going to be $7.25 soon but doesn't know exactly when that will happen.

I'm curious any way it is. What is the minimum wage right now and when is minimum wage going to go up in the United States? When the minimum wage does go up what will it be then?

this person really needs to get fired. what are some things i could do to make her get fired. i dont work there either.

If it's a store...call, ask to talk to the manager. Say that you had a terrible experience with *name of employee* (make up some details so it sounds realistic) that's made you never wanna go back to *name of store* again. They will at least get in trouble. If you need to get them fired, have friends call also...but make sure to space it out.

i took french 3 years ago in school and i used to be fairly fluent. enough to have a conversation. well the last time i spoke french or had anyone to speak to was 2 years ago when i went to paris. i really love the language and i want to relearn it, without taking a class, because i am not nearly as fluent as i used to be.

are there any cost free ways to do this?

I was the same way. Go on Itunes, go to Podcasts, look for one called the French Pod Class. It's made by a french guy, he teaches you different words every week, plus music and movies so you learn about culture, too. Helped me a lot.
