i just finished sending off my college apps around the middle/end of december. about how long before i should start to expect acceptance/rejection letters?

It varies by school, really. you should hear by march at the latest. in the mean time, don't worry about it, there's college for everyone =].

I am 16, female.
At age 14, I had a boyfriend, a best friend, all A's, confidence, I played volleyball and I was a cheerleader.

I am now 16, I have no best friend, no boyfriend, a B average, no confidence, and I recently had to quit all sports for 2 years due to a Spinal Disease. I'm not sure what to do anymore. My best friend and I have tried to go back to the way things were before she and I tried drugs, I quit but she took longer and we were not permitted to see each other.

I miss my life. My parents are worried sick about me because I spend all my free days laying in bed watching TV. I hate it. I used to be a fun-loving flirt that was able to bring the best out of people.

But now, I second guess my every thought, blame myself for everything, and just can't seem to find my way again.

Help, please.

I can relate... my life got turned upside down when i was 15-16 too. i went from being a social butterfly with tons of friends, VP of my class, played every sport ... basketball, volleyball, soccer, TKD, swimming... i had to quit because i moved, teams weren't funded... and i tried drugs as well so i lost a lot of my friends that way too.
now jsut a few years later, i realize it makes me a better person cuz i was able to get back up and start over. i don't live the same life... i'm not involved at school or anything but i work and hang out with all those people. that's what helped me the most... get a part time job and you'll notice that you'll feel better about yourself in general. if you want, get a therapist. i had one for a little while and she made me feel soo much better. focus your energy on school and work and get through it all and prove to yourself that you are capable of recovering and gettting to a new better life. feel better and feel free to ask me anything!

Puma's are good and can be cheap at times.
flats go with flares [if theyre not obnoxiously flare lol]
clogs/slides like the ugg ones with the fur - get them at target or pacsun ... theyre cheaper there. i got a pair for $10 and one for $3

What are the benefits of water that a 15-year-old girl would care about?

Keeps your hair looking nice, your skin clear, and just your whole "look" is healthier and more appealing. then there's the mom stuff like keeps you hydrated, no calories, your body needs it... water is great.

well this kid i know snorts oxycotin, and i really dont know about that drug. can he die from it?

Yes, that stuff is terrible to mess with! some people get sick from taking it for what the doctor prescribed it for... i can't even imagine why someone would play with that to get high. don't do it and if you can, get them to stop.

What are some stores or websites that sell nice picture frames? Not cheap but not too, too expensive either. Like anywhere from $50-$100 i guess.

im scrapbooking an album for my parents 15th anniversary amd the last page i am going to put a big picture of them dancing on their wedding day. any layout or title ideas? i want to make the last page really special

you could find out the song and use that as the theme... for example, my parent's song was "I just called to say I love you" so use that as the title? you could always use a quote about how great it's been or "you're still the one". I'm sure it will be really special no matter what you do.

This questions for the girls and guys, mainly guys though.

Well, i was having sex with this guy and its not the first time ive been with him, but we didnt have a condom. He said he didnt mind and he would just go in me, and i am not on any birth control or anything and he knows that. He said it was up to me, and he said he really wants to. Other times when we've had sex, he would always hint it, or say something like, "I just want to go in you so bad" or something along those lines.

What does this mean exactly? Is there something he is trying to tell me? Were any of you in this situation before? Or guys, did you do something like this? Why did you?

It means he wants to cum inside of you which could lead to pregnancy... it's not a good idea.
if he won't shut up about it after you tell him no, he doesn't respect you.
If you want to let him, make him or just make sure he's using a condom...It'd be a good idea to get another method as well.

I've been on two pills. Levora was great until I hit over a year of use then I started to gain 20 pounds in water weight & had PMDD. So I switched to YAZ.. mood improved so much but I am still gaining the water weight.. if not MORE!

It lasts for over 2 weeks and then my stomach goes back to normal for less than a week. I can't afford to keep buying new clothes. I look like I'm pregnant. I am on the verge of going up another cup size. I am 5'1, D cup, 100-130+ pounds & only 17 years old.

Any suggestions? I'm sexually active so I would like to switch onto another pill. A friend suggested Depo

Working out & such doesn't do much because I can work hard to get my belly back.. til the week before my period and I gain it all back. I am just wanting some advice or something. This wouldn't bother me if I could afford new clothes but I can't and I'm only limited to so much a week.. and ugh. It's just NOT comfortable.

i had a bad experience with it and so i went to my gyno and she put me on watson low-ogestrel [its generic but they should know what i mean]. i haven't noticed any weight gain [cuz i already got huge from yaz and a whole summer of pigging out] but definitely talk to your gyno about switching if you have any concerns.

i refuse to go tanning in a sun bed because i don't want skin cancer but i'm embarressed to go outside and tan because i'm really pale so i've been trying tan in a bottle stuff. All of the stuff i've tried has glitter or sparkly stuff in it. Has anyone used a non-scented, not glittery tanning product that seemed to work? if so can you please tell me what its called/where to get it?

i don't remember exactly what it's called but it's by sally hansen... perfect sun? it worked for me... better than jergens [which smells gross]. i spread it on with a makeup sponge.

i didn't really have to know anything you just have to be friendly and not afraid to talk to people. they teach you everything you need to know when you train with them. its a good idea to know what they sell...frappucinos, espresso-lattes... americanos... have some kind of favorite drink in mind in case they ask. my customers love suggestions.

At my school, girls are discouraged to bring money in their clutches or purses because we always leave them at the tables and there are these group of girls who always go through everyone's stuff when they're up dancing and stealing all their money. My friend tried hiding a lot of money under her table and on her chair but her stuff STILL got stolen. Since our dresses don't have pockets, where should we keep our money because we absolutely need money at prom because we're going somewhere after and we can't leave it in the limo. Is there any possible way that I can keep my money with me while I'm dancing, without having to bring my whole clutch with me? A lot of girls are putting them in their bras but I think that's kind of weird.
