Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. 13/f 8th grade

I'm going into the 9th grade soon so we are going to have the graduation thing and I need to find a really cute dress that is nice and you know appropriate for a 13 year old girl. My parents won't let me wear something like really revealing. I probably wouldn't anyways though. So if anyone knows any stores that aren't too expensive or some pictures. Thanks so much.

I wouldn't expect them to show up this early. If anything, this may just be paranoia.

You can wait a bit and then take a home pregnancy test. If it comes out negative then wait another week or two (unless, I suppose, you get your period) and then take one again. If it's still negative then you're probably okay.

Just know that, safe or not, you always have a chance of pregnancy through vaginal intercourse.

If you want to find the e-mail address that someone else uses as their log in...

You can't do that.

Don't try and say "I know you can, I've done it before" yadda yadda because it isn't possible unless you already know the person has 2-3 and you know the 2-3 they have and just don't know which one they use.

Either way, why would you need someone elses e-mail and/or myspace information. It isn't really your business, now, is it?

Sex can be one of 3 things.

Vaginal Penetration, AKA penis enters vagina.
Oral sex. Either guy eats out girl or girl gives head. (google if you require further details)
Anal Sex. Exactly what it says, butt sex. (once again, google if details are needed).

So, if you had underwear on then I don't think it would be possible to have been penetrated vaginally.

Then again, if you HAVE SEX with your underwear on, is it considered sex? You're the one that called it sex...

Okay so i'm really confused and frustrated on how to make a family tree (ex. Medusa).

Okay, so the mom and dad goes on top with a huge space in between (no grandma, grandpa).

Then you make a line under their names and make arrows going down, writing the children's names and underline that.

what if one of the children gets married? do you put the husband's name beside them and underline? Wouldn't that make it look like he'sthe children too?

How many days of not eating will it take to start losing weight?

To be honest with you, not eating will cause you to gain weight.
It sounds crazy, but it's true.

I had an eating disorder, anorexia, and although I lost a lot of weight, I gained a lot too.

Not eating will slow your metabolism a great amount. Your metabolim is basically the speed of your digestion. The slower your body digests, the more weight you gain.

So, your best bet is to just eat healthier. If you eat healthy and excercise you could lose a healthy 2ish pounds a week. It's not healthy to lose more than 2-3 pounds a week.

BUT, when you do start losing the weight, people will notice. Also, when you lose weight the natural way, rather than starving yourself, you get this really cool glow about you. Your skin looks a lot better and you don't get all bony and gross.

So, it would take an EXTREMELY long time to lose weight from not eating because of how unhealthy it is. You body would start storing every bit of food you do eat making you gain weight, quickly.
But, if you just eat in moderation and excercise, well, it's healthy and you look better.

It is definitly unhealthy! It may be safer than causing yourself to bleed, but it is still extrememly unhealthy.

It's not the cutting/scratching that matters (although those are very serious), but it is the REASON that matters. The fact that you feel the need to make the scratches and to cut are what is serious. You need to figure out why (if you don't already know) you are doing this, and get help. Whether you need to talk to a friend, family member, teacher, whomever can help is who you need to talk with.

I'm being really hypocritcal because I am a very masochistic (self-destructing) person, but you aren't going to get any better by only scratching instead of bleeding. Do what I'm doing, talk to someone, anyone, who can help ease the emotional pain causing you to create the physical pain.

well my friend counts her calories and only eats 1000 calories a day. She excercises all of the time and weighs herself constantly. She also considers being 100 lbs fat. Shes 14 and 5,0

I have had an eating disorder (anorexia nervosa) and this is definitly a sign of one.

I'm not saying she has an eating disorder, but behavior such as this could definitly lead to one if she isn't helped out.

There are many ways to find signs of an eating disorder. Just google "eating disorder symptoms" or something along those lines. Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia may be the two most common eating disorders, but there are many more.

Talk to your friend. What people don't realize is that eating disorders aren't just physical, they're extremely psychological. Anorexics literally see chunks of fat all over them; their eyes don't allow them to see thin, only fat.

Talk to her, make sure everything is okay. Try and rent the movie "For the Love of Nancy" with Tracey Gold as one of the main characters. Watch it with her on a movie night or something. Make sure she knos what she's doing isn't healthy and can get really bad if she isn't careful.

Watching your weight is one thing; obsessing with it is dangerous.

If you're trying to verify that precum can get you pregnant, then yes, it can.

I would wait a week or so, don't fret about it too much (freaking out can delay your period), then take a pregnancy test. If it comes out negative then wait another 2 or so weeks and take another.

He could wear protection and nothing happen to the condom, you can ALWAYS get pregnant when you have sex. With or without a condom, with or without birth control, etc.

I'm a senior in highschool and my day is pretty much over at 10:30, because I have early release. English is my last real period of my short day so, expectedly, it's hard to focus. I usually tired and read to go home.


My English teacher, I believe, is seriously worried about me. She's always asking me about life and if every thing's okay. I try to explain that I'm just tired but it doesn't work. She bought me a journal as a gift and in the card she wrote that when life gets you down and is hard to manage, I should "let go" adn write in the journal. She also recommended a book to me...a book on how to take control of life and only focus on the positive things.


I'm quiet puzzled as what to do. There's really nothing wrong, but she doesn't believe me?

I know this isn't really the same, but I'm usually extremely loud and outgoing, so anytime I am quiet everyone thinks there is something wrong and they refuse to believe that I'm truly okay.
There is really only one person who knows me well enough to tell the difference between upset and tired, not focused, etc.

Anyway, there isn't much you can do. I guess you can look on the bright side and be happy that she cares.

Maybe try and be a bit more lively in class. If she continues to stay on you and make sure you're okay just try and explain to her about your schedule and how you're really just tired.

If she still doesn't get it then you could write a poem or something about how you act when you feel different emotions (or just a passage in the journal). Then give it to her and walk away. Not in a rude way... just so she can get it.

If she still doesn't understand... at least she's looking out for you. It's rare to find teachers (or even people) who will do that.

I am down and out.I havelost almosteverything that mattered to me in life and now I found out that i am sick very sick.
I have decieded that it would be better for everyone if i end my life
.I know all the reasons not to but the pain in both my body and mind are unbearable.

One of my BEST friends was hit by a drunk driver only a few nights ago. They didn't think he was going to make it, I didn't think I could live without him.
I wanted to die and I'd been depressed for the past few days. I had friends try to comfort me but because they didn't know what I was going through it didn't really help.
Someone else who I care about knew, she knew there weren't any words to say that could help. She could agree when I said how much it sucked and she offered an ear and a shoulder.
She doesn't know this and I don't know if I want to ever tell her, but it probably stopped me from doing exactly what you want to do.

I look at my life now. This boy, my dear friend, he's going to live. My life has made a complete 180 since less than a week ago.
I've been up and down over the past 4 years. One day I'm happy, the next I'm miserable. Each day I look into the eyes of someone I love or someone who loves me, well, it makes the pain okay.

I don't want to be a hypocrite and say "don't do it, your life is worthwhile". BUT, DON'T DO IT; YOUR LIFE IS WORTHWHILE!
I've learned through many obstacles comes something greater.
If you were to kill yourself then those around you WOULD blame themselves. They would wonder how come they didn't see the signs. They would have SO many questions and no answers. No matter if you told them it wasn't their fault, they would still feel that guilt. How I know this, you wonder? I know people who have had those close to them commit suicide. Some of them left notes, but most of them did not. These people tear themselves up wondering why, how, and what could that have done.

Suicide is NOT worth it, EVER.
Whatever sickness you have is probably hurting you a lot. But use this time to say your final goodbyes. Make your last few days, weeks, months, years... memorable. Don't die leaving questions, die giving answers.

The government could help financially, but they won't help the mental state of those in your lives.

I've been in your position and I battle every single day with these feelings. My life has sucked and it has been okay. I know what it's like. I understand the crappiness and the longing to just be gone. You have to fight above that. Let everyone know how much you love them and feel that love in return. Don't let anyone think that your death was their fault. Wait until it's your "natural time". You want to leave with only good memories. Offing yourself won't give good memories.

Consider how unbearable your pain is right now. Triple that and it won't even come close to the pain you will be causing others if you commit suicide.

ok so i had tylenol on the schoolbus; i meant to take them in the kitchen but the bus came early. so i took them on the bus, & when my best friend got on, she was crying her back hurt so bad (she fell down the stairs the night before.) and i have to go to the schoolboard tomorrow morning, but at the school, they searched me and put me through total humiliation in front of the whole school with a drug search. (over tylenol. how gay :p) but my mom & i are pretty sure they didnt allow me some of my civil rights as a juvenile. (im 16) can anyone giveme any good virginia juvenile civil rights pages for mobile web? i cant get access to internet. so yea. any and all would be appriciated, as this is happening tomorrow at 9am. thanks!!

As a student who has taken multiple government classes and has spoken to many police officers about this very topic I have learned that your school has every right to search you any time they see fit. If you smell like smoke that can show that maybe you have some sort of smoking parapharnalia on school campus giving them the right to search you because having any type of tobacco products on a school campus, no matter whether or not it's school hours, is a crime. What you did was wrong, you asked if you have a case and the answer is no. Just because you were told what you didn't want to hear doesn't mean that it's not the truth. Don't ask a question if you don't want a truthful answer.

Unfortunately for you, the school had every right to search you. If they feel that they have any reason whatsoever to search a student then they have every right.
If your mother smoked and she drove you to school and a teacher smelt the smoke from your mom's car, well, they can now search you because they have reason to believe you were smoking.

So, and I know this sucks for you, but the school was within their rights to search you.
I understand that you weren't plannon on taking the medicine at school and that you were not planning on distributing it to a friend, but both are against the rules and you should have known that. I don't know how you were caught, but if you're going to break such a serious rule then you should be much more careful.
