hey...did anyone notice...that the new "in" thing is acting ghetto? last year,it wasnemo rock whatever....now its ghetto...what the heck? why cant people be original and now follow the crowd? how can i not follow ANY crowd? everyone in my school follows the trends...and im just there,i want to stick out ina good way...any way i could do that? thanks...also...are you with me on this?

You don't have to stick out to be yourself, you know. But if you truly want to stick out...go shopping and buy some different clothes that you like! That's really all there is to it.

Hm. You could try watching or reading things with friendly spiders. I like Charlotte's Web and...um...Spiderman. You could even make up your own cute, friendly spider character in your head.

Seriously, just keep telling yourself that they are perfectly harmless. Look at pictures of spiders, read about them, etc.

If that fails, you may want to seek professional treatment. I googled it and found that a lot of people were cured through hypnosis.

Right, my best friend is usually really nice, but recently she keeps putting me down, mostly about things that arent even true. She keeps pointing out people and saying they're taller than me and teasing me about my 'frizzy' hair. Shes even started being mean about the things i like. Like my big eyes she says are weird and the other day she said "I like my tummy better than yours" and i really like my toned tummy. Even though most of it isnt true, its really getting me down. What should i do? Please do not tell me to talk to her about it because she would just tell me i'm being stressy.

Don't be her friend anymore. People like that have problems, she wants to use you to make herself feel better. You're better off not having her as a friend.

well for me it kind of gets really depressing when i see all these couples and people finding 'the one' and i feel left out, i have had my chances but they just want me for something else.im not exactly the prettiest person alive, actually im far from it. and i cant seem to find him, its really making me mad/sad/depressed. i know when the right time comes it will happen but do you think you can give me some tips to hold up till then because it seems like it will never happen, or wont it

I know it seems like the biggest deal in the world, because I've been there, but it's really not. You're only fourteen. Not having a boyfriend is obviously the source of your depression, so stop concerning yourself with it. If you look on the bright side of being single, you'll be happy enough that you won't feel so much pressure to get a boyfriend. Concentrate on other things, like just being with your friends or doing your school work (trust me, I was preoccupied with not having a boyfriend, let my grades slip, and I really regret it now). There will be time for a boyfriend later, right now you need to look after yourself.

My friend says he smokes insences...does that do anything...or is he just taking a piece of paper and rolling the insense inside for nothing?

Well, you're really just supposed to put it in an incense burner and meditate, because the scent clears your mind. There is really no point in smoking it like you would a cigarette, and I can't imagine that it's any healthier than a cigarette. I don't think just burning it is the healthiest thing either, which is why I don't do it much. But if he wants to do it, that's his business, I guess.

I am in desperate need of some advice. My girlfriend, I am so worried about her. She is always saying how fat she is, and she is not. But I know every girl says that, but she is going to the extrememe and it is stressing her out so much. She is trying to become anorexic again, and I just don't know what to do to help her realize that she is the most beautiful girl to walk this planet, and that she is not fat...I tell her that every single day...and she still is like this...I am so worried, please some advice on something I can do to help her understand that she is beautiful..

I am 15/ Male. and I suffer from acne just like the rest of the world. So i bought some Pro-activ solution. It works alright but it does not clear up my face completetly. But it definately does help.

I was wondering if there was any kind of treatment that I can apply to my face that would clear it up OVER NIGHT. Or some kind of facial that I could try to remove the acne.

Any advice Is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's normal to start in sixth grade.

But that's a really long time to not have a period. There might have been nothing wrong, but I would still talk to a doctor about it.

If you like him, go out with him. You don't have to say anything to him. Show him how you feel by not caring about what the other kids say. Just roll your eyes and say something like, "Really? It must be nice to be so perfect.", then ignore them. It's none of their business, and they're being jerks.

So okay i really want to but some like new bras and more thongs and underwear from victorias secret. But the thing is my mother is always like "nice thong"(sarcastically)when she hand me my luandry. You can't buy them online without her, because you need her credit card. You can go shopping by yourself, though, and do your own laundry. And then you could always talk to your mom and tell her that you don't like the way she talks to you. But mostly she's not doing anything really horrible, is she? It's not like she forbids you to buy the stuff and then burns all your underwear or anything, she just makes a sarcastic comment. Try giving it right back to her or try not to take it too seriously.

I'm a junior in high school, and to tell you the truth, I want to get through college as quickly and easily as possible, mainly because 1 I have a job and 2 I want to really start my life. In order to do this, what kind of classes should I take? What kind of college should I go to? Any other tips?

You know you don't have to pay money just to go to a good school. There are several methods of financial aid...loans, scholarships, etc. So don't knock it just because it's expensive, especially if you want to have the best education possible. Personally I think you're making a mistake by rushing, but then again it is your life. Check out any and every college you can find, and VISIT it. You never really know anything until you've visited a school. I can't really give you any specific schools (I don't think many colleges like to say that they're quick and easy), that's something you need to figure out on your own.

No, you can't get a late period just by having sex. But try to relax, because stressing can cause a late period. He didn't have to come in order for you to be pregnant, so you don't have to worry if he did or didn't. Go to the doctor. If you can't go by yourself just tell your mom that you need a checkup, and then tell the doctor. If you tell the doctor not to tell your parents, he or she is legally obligated to keep quiet.

Follow her lead. That might seem a little weird, but trust me. Sometimes it freaks girls out if a guy touches her, but this varies from girl to girl. She'll most likely let you know what she wants you to do. If she gets scared and wants to hold hands, hold her hand. If she gets scared and wants to cuddle, cuddle. If she doesn't get scared at all, pretend that you are and say you need a hug.

well me and my friend just started a colum but it seems like everytime we go on something has changed that neither one of us has change and people are deleting our questions. Any ides on what could be happening?

Younggrandma pretty much explained why your questions are getting deleted, so I'll just take a stab at why your column keeps changing.

When you go to "profile settings", it will say "If a question is deleted (by either the user asking it or a moderator) should we still display it on your column?" Make sure that you select "YES". If you say "NO", everytime a question gets deleted, it will disappear from your column. A LOT of questions get deleted, so if your problem is questions disappearing, that is probably what's up.

If it's something else, the mods will probably figure it out.

Me & my mom made a deal that I can get an Ipod if I raise up my grades.

Well I did, but I just don`t know if I should get a Nano or just one of those regular Ipods.

Don't get an ipod. Get a different type of mp3 player. There are brands which cost less but work better than the ipod. Trust me on this one, everybody I've talked to who has an ipod says that there is always something wrong with it. Be a responsible shopper, and compare different products before you make your final decision.
