At what age do teenagers usually get past basic levels of thought and begin thinking more intellectually?What I mean is...when do they start to form their own opinions,have some idea of what they want out of life,and just generally gain a more adult outlook? (link)

i dont know about other teenagers but i think that at some point in your life you come to a realization of all that is important and all that is not. this year ive changed dramatically and i can see everything that my parents once told me as being true. i remember thinking "oh my parents suck because they wont let me do stuff....i hate my life.....the world sucks." there was a long period in this year where i was depressed, on the verge of suicide. but then i realized that i had been living my whole life trapped behind a mask that i put up so that i could "fit in". i used to try to be like the so called "popular" girls that dressed a certain way and acted a certain way. i never realyl knew who i was i and i never really fit in anywhere. but one person in my life, my best friend, hurt me so bad that i thought i was gonna die (the whole teenage heartbreak thing). but somehow i learned that i needed to escape from my shell, i needed to break free and become me. once i understood that the only person in the world who could make me happy is me and me alone, i became a new person. now i dont need anyone to tell me how i should dress. i dont need anyone to make me happy. my whole outlook on life has been altered. i know that i am a very strong person and as long as i never lose hope then i will always win in life. i am happy now, for the first time in my life i know what it means to be happy and all i want is to help others reach this state of understanding that i have reached.
there is no age. there is no time. each person has a different journey. you have to lose something important in order to gain happiness. that is what happiness means: it means to be so unshakable that no matter how hard life gets you always get up and become even stronger. and one more thing. HAVE FUN !!! life is a terrible thing to waste. you have so much more to live and to see and to become. whatever struggle you are facing at this time will be only a single struggle in a sea of ups and downs. go out, make friends, hang out, dance, act crazy...it doesnt matter what anyone thinks! live life without fear, and live life with hope that it will all be for the best in the end.

I'm 16/f, my best friend is 16/m. I feel like when he hugs me now, it's like he doesn't want to or something. Like he's the one who goes in for the hug, but when he hugs me it's quick and like, I feel like it's not all there..if anyone knows what I mean? I used to feel like he wanted to hug me, like the hug felt right. I'm not sure how to state it exactly, but when a hug doesn't feel right anymore..does that mean something? (link)

yea i know what you mean. the same thing started happening to me a while back because my best freind thought i liked him so it was awkward for a while. only for a few days though then he got over it. that might be it. but maybe theres something else going on in his life right now. if hes ur best friend then you should ask him if hes okay or if somethings up. i know you probly care about him a lot and this is bothering you. tell him how you feel about this.

well ask her if she/he is ok. i used to cut. my friends asked about it and i denied it completely. i said my dog was scartching me. be there for your friend to talk about whats going on in their life. but dont tell anyone about it.

yeah so i have one of them underground pimples, and it hurts like a bitchhh. i really want it gone by like friday, so i was wondering what would work. would putting a hot face cloth on it then putting an ice cube on it bring it to a head? its like spreading if i try to pop it (i knowww i'm not supposed to) and it's really annoying me. any other suggestions? (that work quickly & i don't have to go out and buy something) (link)

ouch i had these and its not pretty. ok what i do is put toothpaste on them. not in public but at nite put it on and leave it on all night. then in the morining wash it off. use the really minty kind it works best. it dries out the pimple and soon you'll be pimple free. in just two nite i got rid of a huge one. good luck!

you should go to an indian store. they sell a bunch of skirts kind of like that. also swapmeets and flea markets have all kinds of enthnic skirts. they're really cool oh and umm costume stores =] have fun

well just have a pair of scissors and cut them so they arent too long. if you were a bikini and they pop out then thats kinda weird haha so make sure they just stay at most like an inch long. dont try to cut them too short cuz you might cut yourself.

ewll if your friend is always calling you texting or you always always talk to them then they are attached. i have a friend whos really clingy like she always finds me and knows where i am. she calls me at least twice a day when i see her at school for a long time. and its like 30 minute pfone calls at least. its kind of creeepy at times.
in my opinion clinginess is bad because in the end one of the two people WILL get tired of the other one always being around. even in a relationship when one person is too clingy it usually ends up ending quickly.
also there is another possibility. maybe your friend likes you. i mean if your both girls or both guys then dont start jumping to the conclusion that theyre gay. but sometimes when a girl or guy likes someone they can act a little clingy because they want to spend time with the other person.

hey well if you buy "always clean" pads they come with a little wipe for when your on your period. and baby wipes work really great for just normal discharge which is really gross lol.

for her birthday you should write her a really sweet birthday card thats really funny. what i did for my friend once was get a big piece of paper and write how much i love him and talk about all the good times we have together and it was really cool in the end. i included all these inside jokes and made a huge card! heres an example:
hey john! happy birthday! haha i love you =]. im kinda sleepy right now and im eating crackers. yummy. hmm...well umm im bored... oh yea remember last week when i fell off the chair when i leaned back haha that was funny. im so stupid haha! so i guess ill just keep ranting about myself. yea see i have nothing better to do lol. but i do want to ask you a question though...its really important. ok well john i love you and you know that. so i was wondering if maybe you would wanna go out with me. i know summers almost here and schools over soon but itd be really cool we could hang out in the summmer and stuff. =] anyways i hope you have a really great birthday.

hey i say you add him. if anyone asks why just tell them that ur just friends. then casually talk to him when hes on myspace. its a great way to get to know someone better. i used to like this guy so i added him and we ended up being pretty good frineds, then i realized i didnt really like him anymore. lol but just add him and talk.

Ok well when you're sad they say you should like tell someone and stuff but when i tell my best friends it seems liek it doens't matter much to them or they don't really feel any sympathy or they're not good at like cheering up.

look im not a guy but im dress how i want [as in not the "style" everyone else wears] my hair is shorter than most girls and puffy, and i am one of the most flat chested girls out there lol. but most guys wont care about that. some are shallow and not worth your time but you will find that lots of guys are really good people. it may take some time but im sure you will eventually find some nice ones out there... and any guy who says your ugly or something mean desrve to be kicked where it hurts!!!!

let me start from the beginning.. Okay here goes.. Ive been talking to this guy for almost a week now.. Met him online on a wedding portal site. Neways we talked for 3-4 days.. and things went well. talked wee into the nite.. for hours.. at a time, then.. we played a game called 20 questions.. then suddenly we got to the topic of gays.. and I had mentioned that it would be awesome seeing a gay guy with another gay guy.. that just totally turned himoff.. and he got disguste3d by that and hung up on me.. and sent a txt msg saying Idont want 2 continue this. i Havent spoken to him until day before yesterday and he told me dont worry about it.. I was wrong to be upset over this.. and I apologized as well. then I didnt hear anything from him yesterday no call no nothing. so I grilled him today on it.. saying I don't understand whats going on.. nor can I read your mind.. since your into be honest with me y cant you be str8 up with me and tell me.. I dont want to say anything that will make the situation worse.. aparently it did and he said you are actng weird.. ur not the same girl that I have grown to like alot. Then I said I am the same person.. and then I told a lie and said that I was having issues at home thats y I was all bent out of shape like that at you. He said you shouldn't take it out on the person ur getting to know etc..and I said your rite Im sorry.. He said you need to really slow down. I said and how do I do that? he said we'll see.. talk to you later.. and then he said he had to go to a meeting.. that was earlier today.. what do you suggest I do or not do? any comments/advice.. well its just that if you really do care about him and he cares about you then this really shouldnt get in the middle of you. most strait guys will think that gay guys are gross but its a fact and they need to get over it. anyways talk about other stuff. show him ur still the same girl that he always knew and dont worry he'll forget about what you said earlier once you start chatting again. good luck.
