Do you aways know when the condom breaks? Me and my boyfriend do it like once every weekend and he pulls out (with the condom on) and cums outside me into the condom, just incase it broke i dont want his cum in me. we check the condom everytime after and it hasnt broken. BUt my question is, do you always know when it breaks? If there was no leakage, does that mean I'm okay and shouldnt worry?

There is never a 100% sure thing, but what you describe will reduce the odds of an "accident" happening to an absolute minimum.

And yes, normally you would know it breaks. At least as far as I know.

Will it work out if i get back together with my girlfriend of 5yrs relationship then i dumped her because she cheated on me? Because i can forgive her but will it be the same as before or will i be chasing ghosts?

Look the question you have to ask yourself is why did she cheat on you. This is crucial in determining if it was a problem in your relationship, it it was a one time thing, or if this is something that will happen again.

I am personally very sceptical when it comes to cheaters. The reason for this is because once someone has shown me that they can break your trust, it is their burden to prove themselves trustworthy afterwards.

In regards to whether things can be the way they were. Yes they can. How easily depends on two things. If she still feels the same way (i.e. she didnt cheat because of some issue) and on the amount of resentment you bring with you (if any).

Good luck

There's this guy I've been talking to quite a bit for the past several months, and lately instead of just saying "Hi" or "Hello", he's been greeting me with "Hey You!"...does that usually mean someone's interested? Stupid question, heh....

Like Matt implied below, the only thing you can draw from this is that he feels closer to you. However that could be as trivial as being a close acquaintance.

You need more ques before considering if it means more.

my six week old pitbull, labrador, dalmation mix is constipated and would like to know how to help him

I really cant help you. This is really a question you should ask your vet. A 2 minute phone conversation should clear it up and you can be sure then that you are getting quality advice.

I'm a 23yr old guy & i'm frustrated because of my weight...as a child i used to be chubby, but i lost the fat round about 18, i did some weight lifting and the results were quite impressive...6 months ago i started developing a tummy & lately none of jeans fit "comfortably" like they used to.i think the cause of this is my hectic schedule because as a student & I'm continuously studying so i can't stick to my exercise regime-i actually stopped a while ago...but some say its genetic..

I want to be a hunk again, i want a 6pack and chiseled muscles...i'm thinking of taking supplements...how do i get back into shape???????

Hey there.

First off, dont buy into the genetic argument. I guarantee you that you can have the body you used to.

First off, supplements are ok, but they are the icing on the cake. You need to start with a solid routine and diet. Really, I would not even bother with supplements (except whey) until you have these things laid out.

Second, dont try to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Our bodies are really built to gain or lose weight. That is why body builders have bulking and cutting cycles. During the weight gain period they eat a calorie surplus (they eat clean of course) and then they trim off any excess fat in the cut.

In your case you should start with a cut. The weight training goal in this phase is muscle mass maintance. You may still see some strength results if you are out of practice as your body adapts to weight lifting again.

So, set up your routine. I would always recommend basing it around big free-weight compound exercises... e.g. squats, deadlifts, bench & shoulder presses, BB or DB rows, etc. These will hit multpiple muscle groups, increase your natural testosterone levels, and give you a more "useful" kind of strength than isolation and/ or machine work.

Then you need to select a split. You have many options. You could do a full body routine 2 or 3 times a week, you can also split your body in 2 or 3 parts which you train on separate days e.g. push, pull, legs. Here is a forum where you can get ideas and also have your routine critiqued:

http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/

You can of course also drop me question if you like.

Apart from weights, cardio is extremely useful (and has countless other health benefits). Try to get in 3- 5 sessions a week of at least 20 minutes each (steady pace cardio- at a pace where you can just carry out a conversation while doing it). As you get better you can increase the time to 30+. Probably the best overall cardio machine at the gym is the stair machine. Of course, whatever you can stick to regularly is the best form of exercise :)

Many bodybuilders do fasted cardios. i.e. in the morining before breakfast to target the fat stores directly. I am not sure how much of an advantage this is, but its something to consider.

Then onto the diet. Aim for 4- 6 meals spaced out ever 3- 4 hours or so. Each meal should be designed specifically around what you are about to do. If you are going to be active the meal may be a big larger and containing more carbs. If you are about to take a nap, make it a smaller meal and stick to lean protein and maybe some essential fatty acids.

Eat sensibly, stick to wholesome non processed foods. Cut out all empty calories from junk foods, anything with sugar added, etc. Make sure you eat enough protein and create a calorie deficit. Dont aim to to go too quick, 1- 2 pounds a week is ideal.

Dont forget your essential fatty acids from fish, good quality oils, unsalted nuts (particularly walnuts), etc.

Some of the most common supplements include: whey (concentrate or isolate), creatine, glutamine, BCAAs, a multi vitamin, omega 3 or fish oil supplements (if you dont eat the stuff mentioned above daily), etc. These are all effective supplements.

Well thats it. Good luck.

I'm thinking about offering my services as a translator, for a small fee payable by PayPal, but I'm not sure how it could work. I've been doing some translating work, French -> English for my Nan and her partner's band recently, and I really enjoyed it - I also think it would help me improve my own proficiency in French.
I've been studying French for five years now - it's one of the things I'm best at and enjoy the most. I do study some others, but I feel most proficient in this language and I'd like to do some work with it!

I'm hardworking and determined to become a professional one day - so I guess this is a good way for me to start off.
So, what kind of prices would you pay for an amateur translation service?
I will only offer my services in French -> English and English -> French, but maybe in the future when I'm more confident in other languages I could do those too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey there. I have been in the translation business for a while now and I can tell you that your question is actually not very easy to answer.

First off, I need to know your educational qualifications. You said you had studied French, but you neglected to say on what level. Also, your general education plays a role in determining the price, since translators often specialise in certain areas (I myself have a business masters and therefore specialise in financial, marketing and economic texts).

Generally, a translator working with your languages will set his minimum rates (I will explain this below) anywhere between 0.05 and 0.15 USD/ word. Both limits are rather extreme, and a "normal" sort of price might be 0.1 USD/ word. Have a look at this site:

http://www.translatorscafe.com/cafe/default.asp

You can use the search function in the freelancer menu to select the languages you want. Once you have made the search, scroll to the middle of the page and deselect the box that says "TC Masters only" and repeat the search. Now you have all the registered translators. Many of them have included minimum price in their profiles.

Now, to define minimum rates. Translation prices vary based on 1. language combinations (this we know), 2. length of text (longer = cheaper), 3. complexity of text- this affects the speed at which you translate... a very easy text one can do at over 500 words/ hour, a moderate one at about 400, while a very complex text could push even a good translator below 300.

Also, most translators use computer aided translation (CAT) tools- not to be confused with machine translation. This allows them to offer reduced rates for repetitions and partial matches, which gives them a cost advantage. So you see, sometimes a higher price/ word quoted by one translator can mean a lower total cost for the entire document if he excluded all repetitions.

Now, another thing to keep in mind is that normally one is only supposed to translate to one's mother tongue. This standard is certainly not always adhered to and there are exceptions (e.g. truly bilingual people), but it is largely accepted as a means to ensure quality.

Ok... that was rather long. If you add your education level (and any other info that would be relevant in this context on your CV, e.g. courses, experience, etc) I can edit my answer with a price estimate. You can always inbox me as well if you want.

Alin 34/m

Edit:

Oh, I did not realise you were from the UK. I am European myself, so I guess it was kind of silly to turn it all into dollars :)

In the UK price is usually calculated per 1000 words for some reason. Boils down to the same thing in the end of course.

Anyway, I must admit I am quite uncertain here. Makes it even harder considering the devaluation of the pound. If I were to offer a guesstimate, I would say try ask for 20 GBP/ 1000 words (or 0.02£/ word) and see how it goes.

Good luck.

So I've been dieting for about two weeks now after my doctor told me to lose 10 kilos (about 20 pounds)

I'm 5'3 and weigh 154 pounds.
I want to lose 10 kilos, so I want to get down to about 132 poiunds.
On her orders, I walk for an hour every day. I haven't eaten any white bread, white pasta, potatoes, etc. I haven't had any junk food of any kind. I haven't had any lollies, or chocolate. I refuse to eat anything with over 6 grams of fat in it. The only meat I've eaten is chicken and fish, and I've only eaten that grilled.
I've been eating lotsa fruit, and veggies now and then. I have salad for lunch often. Sometimes I don't eat dinner at all. I don't eat anywhere near as much as I did before I went on the diet.

And yet I haven't lost a single kilo. Not one. I'm meant to go back and see her this week, but I am ashamed because I haven't lost any weight.
What am I doing wrong? Should I be seeing results by now? It's really demotivating me...

Look, if you are showing no results in two weeks the only explanation is that you are still intaking too many calories. Eating healthy foods is important, and its good for you, but it does not in itself guarantee weight loss. You still need to control your calorie balance.

So, lower your total daily calorie intake by about 500. Alternatively increase your daily exercise without eating more to compensate. The former is probably the easiest considering your current routine.

Also remember to weigh yourself at the same time of day, under similar conditions. I normally prefer to do it once weekly to avoid being confused by small daily fluctuations.

Good luck.

I'm 21/f.
Usually I'm the one answering these questions, but this is an issue I've had my whole life, no matter how hard I hit the gym, or how healthily I eat - My diet at the moment has been a bit off because I'm in my last couple of weeks of college, working three jobs, and occasionally can't find the time to eat anything substantial (so I either don't eat, or wind up having a handful of trail mix in the span of eight hours...it's bad, I know. I'm fixing it when I have time.)
My abs are flat and defined; my legs are fine. My butt is toned, my lower back is good - no love handles or anything. My upper back, I know how to fix, but haven't had the time. My forearms are fine.
I'm 5'4" and 120. When I have the time and can eat, I run, lift weights, etc.
My upper arms are the ONLY place on my body where I have squeezable fat. I've had it my whole life, it drives me crazy, and it makes me look incredibly broad-shouldered. I'm a pretty small person, so this is kind of annoying.
I've done pushups, bar curls, curls, tricep extensions, skull crushers, dips, military press, overhead press, all sorts of exercises. I've done full-body fat burning exercise routines, too. I gain muscle, but my arms never shrink.
My biceps are pretty toned. My triceps are all right - those aren't the problem - it's further up, and includes my shoulders. Lats, too, probably. I know how to work those, too, but the place where I have the most fat doesn't seem to surround any muscles...I can't feel it when I work out arms, shoulders, lats, back, or anything.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? I'd like to be able to wear cute shirts without feeling like my shoulders are too broad.
Thanks in advance!

You cannot spot reduce fat- ever.

Sorry but it is the truth. The muscles do not own the fat around them... the processes of fat loss and muscle gain are separate.

Your body can only generally lose or gain weight. When losing weight, fat cells are pulled from all over the body. Genetics determine if one area is emphasised over another, not the area specific exercises that you do. And we all have "problem" areas unfortunately.

So... the only solution is diet and cardio, and eventually the fat will come from that area too. However you may need to get thinner than you like. Its a decision you have to make.

Good luck, and sorry if this is not the answer you wanted to get.

i have an alright body.
i just want more muscle on the back of my thighs
and on my arms.

any ideas ?
im willing to do almost anything.

and if you could . . .
tell me something i could just do at home with out having to go to the gym and stuff.

thank you. :)

It is extremely difficult to effectively gain muscle without proper equipment. I don’t mean fancy machines here, just good old fashioned weights.

The problem is that in order to gain muscle you have to continuously strain your existing muscles beyond their current comfort zone. The ideal exercise rep range is around 8. The body adapts very quickly to a new routine, and this really requires that you are able to continuously increase the stress load.

Secondly, exercises that are largely cardiovascular in nature (like running or biking or what not), are much slower in building muscle. They will also build a different kind of muscle fibre which is less visible.

Anyway, my point is that you are by far better off going to a gym.

Here is a link that has a very large collection of exercises.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm

For the hamstrings, a home option could be lunges (particularly if you have some dumbbells).

For the biceps and triceps you are really dependent on some weights to do any kind of curls or extensions (which are the most common types of exercise).

However pullups or chinups do hit the biceps significantly (particularly with a narrower grip). Similarly any variety of dips as well as pushups (also with a narrower arm stance- see pushups, close tricep position) hit the triceps.

Good luck.

so lately ive been indulging in food i guess.. a lot. i usually workout 6 days a week, cardio for 80 minutes 6 days a week (usually split it 40minutes / 40 minutes) and 2 days a week i do weight training.
but probably about every 4 days i have an "indulging" night. idk why i just come home and i laydown and im like shit i need sugar. and i end up having a lotttt of bad food. but i realize ive been working out quite a lot will i still lose weight? or will i gain weight?

When the smoke clears, it is really down to calories in vs calories out. If your net caloric intake is lower than what you burn, you will still lose weight. From the sound of your routine, it would really surprise me if that one day would stop you from losing weight (though once every 4 days is a lot for having a cheat day).

No one can tell you this for sure without knowing your stats, workout intensity, exact caloric intake etc. Even then the best thing to do is just monitor your progress. Weight yourself say once a week, under the same conditions and at the same time of day.

However again, from the sound of your routine, it seems as though you burn too many calories to stop losing weight.

When did sex become so bad? I get that teenagers shouldn't just sleep around and pregnancy & STDs are a problem. But why do parents go to great lengths to make their teens feel guilty about wanting and/or having sex? If its so natural and if everyone feels the need at some point, shouldn't it be talked about more openly and embraced in a better manner?

I'm 16, thinking about having sex for the first time, but I keep finding notes from my parents saying, "Absolutely no sex. Wait until your married."

I'm not religious, but I'm not a bad person. (All A's, no drinking or drugs) So why do my parents make me feel awful for even thinking about it?

Ugh. Thanks.
I just want opinions and how other people's parents react.

This is very much a cultural thing. In the nordic countries for example, the relationship to sex is a lot more open. Virtually no one here (I live in Denmark) expects their children to wait until they are married. Parents and their children also have a far more relaxed attitude to sex.

Now, in my opinion this difference stems largely from religion and its influence on culture. This is pure speculation, but the US tends to be a lot more hard-line and generally influenced by religion than quite a few other Western countries. I remember noticing this specifically when I lived there. You even see religion and God mixed in with political discussions/ issues, which again is something that you would not see in many European countries.

Personally I agree with you that it should be talked about more openly. I see no logical reason at all as to why sex has to carry this stigma, and in all honesty I do not think this whole "preach abstinence" thing is really working very well. Instead you have a lot of uneducated kids having sex and being unable to talk about it.

I've heard alot about lucid dreaming and I thought it was kinda cool lol. But it's kinda confusing. So what is it really? And how can you have it happen? I read stuff online but it didn't make complete sense to me. Thanks so much!

Lucid dreaming is basically dreaming while being aware that you are dreaming. Generally, since you know its a dream, it means you can exert some sort of control over your surroundings. Sometimes it means you can control everything and other times just some things.

There was a similar question asked the other day and it would probably be best just to link you to that rather try to summarise the answers:

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=560950

Otherwise, the wiki article is very useful. Just check out their section on techiques. They go over some simple techiques that really can work- like keeping a journal, programming yourself to try to spot if you are dreaming, etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming

Just check out the "induction methods" section to jump right to the stuff that is directly relevant.

Good luck.

I read an article recently suggesting that lucid dreaming can help someone suffering from nightmares cope. Is there anything you can do to encourage lucid dreaming in yourself? I had a nightmare about a week ago in which I realized what was happening couldn't be happening, and then the dream took a sudden turn for the better. Does that sound like a lucid dream?

Hey there.

The answer below is good. I just wanted to add a few things since this is something that used to interest me in the past.

When I was a kid I would lucid dream all the time. It was almost more normal for me than normal dreaming (at least the dreams I remembered). Then suddenly it stopped. I think I was in my teens. Some years back I began looking into how I might get it back.

Anyway, apart from the things mentioned below there are a few other techniques:

- You can develop reality checks which you perform throughout the day. It can be anything that usually manifests itself differently while dreaming. Flicking a light switch, waving your hand in front of your face, pinching yourself, etc. But you have to program yourself to do this regularly throughout the day for the purpose of determining if you are dreaming (even though you know full well you are awake). The idea is that you will remember to do it while dreaming and suddenly realise whats going on.

- You can also set your alarm clock to wake you up every few hours. Then you stay awake trying to focus on having a lucid dream and then go back to sleep.

Ok, I was going to add some more, then I realised that there must be something on this online written better than what I can reproduce off memory...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming

The wiki article is very comprehensive, just scroll down to induction methods.

Oh one thing though. As far as I remember many people say that it can help with nightmares. However, for me it didn't always work that way. When I was a kid and I realised I was dreaming, I would often start imagining bad things and they would start happening. Not always, but I definitely induced a few nightmares in my time...

Anyway, hope it helps you.

Good luck.

what are some secret turn-on zones for guys? I want to surprise my man with something new.

Here is an article I dug up:

http://living.oneindia.in/kamasutra/spice-up/his-erogenous-zones.html

Let me just say one thing though. The most important thing you can do (and this applies to both sexes) is to look for clues in your partner (or to ask them straight out). You need to figure out if they are enjoying this since everyone is different. Some people like some things, and others do not- I for one truly hate the tongue in the ear thing, just to give one example.

Good luck.

ohkay so ive came to the conclusion i want to become a vegetarian. ive thought about it for awhile and i really want to do this. but ive ate meat and very unhealthy foods pretty much my whole life and my mom wont buy me anything like that. i need help on some things i could buy and where to start.
please help mee.
:]

Hey there.

I would start with figuring out what you can eat/ make. A good vegetarian cookbook is always a good idea, otherwise you can also check out this:

http://food.yahoo.com/search?tp=recipe&dt=vegetarian&p=

Figure out a few options for your meals (starting with simple things), and then you are ready to go. When I was a vegetarian I had a set of dishes (including some pasta varieties and a few salads) that I would make fairly regularly.

You also need to determine what kind of a vegetarian you are, depending on whether you eat dairy, eggs, and/ or fish (lacto/ ovo/ pesco vegetarianism, or a combination of the three).

What you have to pay attention to is that plant protein is incomplete. So if you do not intake fish, dairy or eggs, you have to vary your diet considerably to make sure you get all the essential amino acids. Decent vegan protein sources include soy, beans, lentils, oats, spinach, etc.

If you do not eat fish, you can get your essential fatty acids from nuts, seeds, good oils, and dark leafy vegetables. Fish oil/ omega 3 supplements can also be a good idea (in general, not just for vegetarians).

Good luck.

18 male
ok so this past weekend i was hanging out with a couple friends noah, john, megan... and i really like noah well theres one problem hes straight... anyway i ended up making out with his best friend john to make him jelouse well yeah that didnt work so the next day i ended up haveing sex with my best friend chris to get over noah... is what i did right? what should i do?

If a guy is straight, there is absolutely nothing you can do to make him feel jealous. Of course trying to is not wrong as such, just liable to get you into more of a mess.

As for having sex with your best friend, that is entirely your decision. Nothing is "wrong" if the sex is consentual and neither party is in a relationship (do remember safe sex though of course). Whether or not you think it might change your friendship is something else, only you can be the judge of that.

As for what to do- move on. Find someone who is also gay and who can return your feelings. It will save you a good deal of emotional turmoil.

i know you cant target "fat loss" but you can tone certain parts of your body. maybe you dont lose weight, but you build muscle there, making you look slimmer.

Well, I am not entirely sure I agree. I mean, yes sometimes you can tighten the area up a bit, so if the fat was kind of hanging, then it could look better. However at the same time, sometimes building muscle under the fat can also just make it look bigger.

Anyway, if you want to know chest exercises check this out:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm

They have many exercises with dumbbells. The area you want is probably best hit with something like incline flyes or presses. Push ups are also good.

Not to sound like a broken record lol, but beware. I remember reading articles on gynecomastia (breast tissue in men), and there the doctors openly said that doing chest exercises can often make it look worse because the area is enlarged.

Anyways, good luck whichever way you go.

I bought a strapless dress for Prom, but you know that fat that kind of...comes over the top of the dress? like above your boobs, next to your underarms?? I need to learn some kind of workout that can target that general area. I have like little 5 pound weights I can work with, but I'm willing to go out and buy something else if I need to. Does anyone know of a workout or some link they can give me to help???

Thanks!

Fat loss cannot in any way be targetted. The human body simply does not work this way. If you doubt it just google "fat spot reduction myth".

So please, dont waste your time. The only thing that works is general weight loss, but unfortunately it is our genetics that determines if an area is emphasised more than another. For general weight loss, cardio and diet are key.

Sorry for not being able to give you the answer you wanted, but this is the way it works unfortunately.

Kay.!

Well in 3 months im going to my dads and he lives in a different country and we are going to the beach and all and i want to loose weight.!

like im skinny and all its just my belly is like big and my thighs are big.!

so do yall have any ideas that i can loose wwight in 3 months..
and ohh yeah my parents wont let me lose wiehgt because they think that i dont need it but i really do so anything so that my parents wouldnt find out.

Thanks:)

First of all, I read the answer below and I want to make a few comments about it.

1. There is no evidence whatsoever that drinking a lot of water helps you lose weight. This is a myth, and so are most of the other popularly accepted "facts" about water. It is uncertain how something like this came to be so universally accepted without any scientific evidence to back it.

When it comes to water our body regulates our needs very well... so drink when you are thirsty.

2. You have to take special care if you go on that fruit and vegetable diet. One of the biggest problems will be protein. Remember that plant protein is incomplete (i.e. does not contain all the essential amino acids) and so you have to combine many different sources to get what you need.

Personally I do not like special diets much. The effects are often short lived, since eventually you go back to whatever eating habits you had before. Its generally better to just eat normal, sensible balanced meals based around wholesome non processed foods. Then, to lose weight, just drop your overall calorie intake by a few hundred a day. Either that, or increase your exercise (particularly cardio). This way you dont arouse suspicion either, since all you are doing is decreasing your portions slightly.

I think this is particularly important at your age, when you are still growing.

As for how much you can lose... well that depends on how big you are. For a young girl that is not apparently overweight, I would not exceed 1 pound/ week.

Good luck.

Blake (15,Sophomore) Umm.. ok here's the story if you saw my post about needing help about needing help with my gf this is attached to it. Ok we're planning on meeting up for college and I am over weight and when i see her for college I want to make her feel special. So I am going to work out and make myself worthy of her more then personality wise at the moment I am 5'9" 248lbs By the time I am 17-18 I should be around 5'11" to 6'0" I have used many things to calculate what I should weigh when I am 5'11" or 6'0" and it is around 170-190lbs

So I am going to do the following to get there Walk on a treadmill 5+ miles a day at least 5 days a week(When football season is not in) cut out as much junk food as possible Keep up with my normal weight training(including crunches to work my abs and get rid of my stomach because this is the main area where my fat is stored) I do not go into like a ballish shape figure that some people do when they are overweight. Also I have pretty big problems in the rear region(Any suggestions for this would be much appreciated) So that is about it and besides this my mom wants me to play with my dogs at least 1 hour a day which will help me with some stuff because 1 of my 2 dogs is a chocolate lab that loves to fetch and play tug of war. I was wondering do you guys have any extra suggestions for exercises. Also do you think this will be enough. (I got 2yrs. but I'm sure they will fly because of what I am trying to do)(any and all comments are appreciated) Thank you in advance!

I agree with the answer below.

I just wanted to add a few things.

You are doing plenty of exercise. What will make or break your efforts will be your diet. Weight loss is fundamentally a question of calories in vs calories out, so remember also to watch how much you eat.

One note in regards to exercise. While cardio is crucial, it is good that you are training with weights also. Keep your weight training routine general (i.e. hitting all major muscle groups), and focusing on big, compound, free weight exercises. E.g. squat, deadlift, bench press, rows, etc.

Weight training has a positive effect on your metabolism and it preserves muscle mass during a weight loss period.

Otherwise you are definitely on the right track.
